  • An amazing home away from home!

"On this, my 3rd trip to Puerto Rico, I decided to stay on the coast and wanted a place where myself and friends could relax, cook, catch some sun and have an awesome time. Well, Shell Castle 51 did not disappoint. Myself and 10 friends traveled to PR from Chicago to celebrate my birthday. We did not know what to expect but, were extremely happy with our experience. The staff for this property, Jennifer and Loida, are attentive and made sure that my (long) list of requests was satisfied before we even got to PR! Brad, the owner, also made sure we had what we needed. Upon our arrival, I was given keys and walked into a fully furnished and decorated paradise home in a well-kept community. Since this was a celebration of my birthday, I asked for roses and balloons and the entire living room was decorated. We also requested groceries which were there and I had everyone's name printed to put on the bedroom doors (no fighting over rooms!). Since this is a residential area, I was a little bit afraid that we would be to loud for the community but, turns out the neighbors enjoyed our music (and played their own at times)! Lol We used the chef recommended by the staff for food while there (Jason), and the meals we had were nothing short of amazing! He is REALLY great with fish dishes, and we ate heartily. If you are looking for not just a "house" but also a staff that will help you to have the exact experience you are looking for, then pick this place. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Brad, Jennifer and Loida! We hope we will see you again. :)"

  • Incredibly views, beautiful location, clean, quiet.

"We enjoyed staying at Palmas Del Mar and found it was just what we needed. We are busy small business owners who haven't had a vacation together in 2 years. The area was quiet, low key, and felt very secure. We had fantastic views overlooking the ocean. The local fare was close (5-10 minute drive) with good food and included: Chez Daniel, Tapas, La Pescaderia. The unit was spacious, clean, and well equipped. We opened up all doors and windows and had fantastic breezes that kept the unit cool. We turned on the AC one night due to low breezes. The bedding was all cotton and towels were plump. The kitchen had everything we needed: espresso maker, mordern appliances, even a garlic press! I used it! One of the best parts of the unit is that it is the last building in the community, and the beach starts right outside the door. I walked or ran the 1 mile stretch of beach everyday and in 5 days only saw 3 other couples using it. (The beach is not a part of the community and is not maintained. So expect trash along the way brought in by the ocean. Watch for broken glass!) Super peaceful area and made for great yoga on the well kept grounds of the building."

  • Great Vacation

"Arrived late with family due to airline delay. Jennifer, Loida, and Brad stayed in contact during trip with us and waited late for our arrival to give us keys and tour. All expectations more than met. House was excellent. One of only a few that was not only ocean front, but beach front also. Everyone in resort area, from security to wait staff, to housekeeping, was friendly and all had smiles. Overall experience 5 stars."

  • Beautiful home away from home

"The photos do not do this home justice. It's a beautiful spacious home located at the end of a quiet street which backs to the ocean. Unfortunately, the ocean which is close by is not a place you would go to spend the day or swim, it's just a gorgeous view for some great photos. I loved how the location was out of the resort area and so we got to really expiernce the culture and steer clear from the "tourism." The house was very clean, featured anything you would need to cook or make Drinks and was very welcoming, Overall, I had a great experience and would most defiantly go back and rent a home at this location."
