  • Greatest Family Christmas Gift

"We were so fortunate to stay at the Wetzel home in Rincon. This was a much needed vacation with our 3 teenagers. Our Christmas gift 2015 was to spend the week in Rincon together. The property far exceeded our expectations. First, if you like to cook , there is everything you need to produce a gourmet meal in the kitchen. If you love to just relax and gaze at the ocean...the veranda and views are like non other. Then there is poolside where you can enjoy a respite from the beach, have a drink or just hang in a hammock and read. Second, in terms of location within the area, we walked to Maria's beach and The Beach House. Within minutes, we could access coffee shops, breakfast spots, groceries etc. In addition to this, Cabo Rojo is just a 1.5 hour drive for a day trip which is totally worth the time. Finally, the owners were so easy to deal with throughout the rental process. We were fortunate to meet while we were there in Rincon. Great People! Thanks Margie and Patrick for sharing your awesome home with us. We cant wait to visit again! The Sweeneys"

  • Awesome experience!

"Teresa was very helpful and responsive, providing detailed directions and information and replying to questions quickly. The upper condo was comfortable and while there is not much in the way of beachfront for lounging on the sand, we loved having a couple of blow-up rafts to float on the beautiful water. The area was peaceful and relaxing. I would have preferred a shower in the master bathroom over the whirlpool tub (along with a garbage can), but my family of 4 managed just fine sharing the shower in the second bathroom."

  • I could get used to living on the beach...

"We ended our week in Puerto Rico at the Sandy Beach Villa. It was our 4th hotel during the week and we stayed 4 nights. We rented the 1st floor with our 4 young adult kids ages 19, 21, 23 and 25. Staying at the Sandy Beach Villa was so relaxing. WE could cook in, instead of having to find restaurants for every meal like the first part of the trip (gets expensive when you are feeding 6). Eating on the 4th floor rooftop deck was amazing and lounging on the first floor chaise lounges was relaxing. In other words the outdoor spaces were A+! Also, being right on the beach you could dip in and out of the perfect temperature water. The kids took a surfing lesson from the guys in the lot next door which was reasonably priced at $40 per person including all day board rental. We drove to Steps Beach and used the 2 snorkels from the house and rented 2 more there. There were always waves on Sandy Beach so calmer waters would have been a little nicer for me personally. The rest of the family didn't mind. The house also has a couple of boogie boards to use. Back to the house: the living room was comfortable and the beds were as well. A/C and fans worked GREAT. WiFi not so good but you could catch it in part of the living room and 1 bedroom. T-Mobile didn't work in the house but did on the patio and street. I really liked the neighborhood mix of a shop across the street and Tamboo 3 doors down. There were some other cute places to stay nearby. The area felt totally safe. Our family was on high alert for mosquitos and the Zika virus and this house had screens on all of the windows - very reassuring. Erica was the manager on duty and I feel that she was very accessible. We had a great stay at the Sandy Beach Villa and wish we could have stayed longer! Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas are typically the go-to places for Californians and I am now a Puerto Rico fan where I can stay RIGHT ON THE BEACH for a reasonable price."

  • Wonderful forest retreat

"We love staying at Cristina's property in the forest! The cottage is in a large private forest next to a river. The forest is mature and undisturbed, there are tons of frogs, lizards, and birds - a nature lover's dream. The scenery is beautiful and there are several trails on the property to go exploring. If you walk all the way to the top of the hill you can actually watch the sun set in the Caribbean and get a good view of Desecheo. The cottage is rustic but in a quaint way - the walls are wood but you have all the amenities and comfort you could wish for (laundry, A/C, kitchen, hot water, etc.). I love sitting on the large front porch when eating my breakfast and my group enjoyed using the barbecue in the evenings! It is much cooler up there in the mountains than in the city, we were very comfortable only running the ceiling and wall fans. The property is also really ideally located. I've not found another rental like it in Puerto Rico - you can have your forest retreat but still be a very short drive from all the tourist attractions! It's only a 30 minute drive from the property into Rincon, 15 minutes to Mayaguez, and 45 minutes to Cabo Rojo. There's so much to see in this region and the sunsets are amazing. Cristina has always been extremely responsive and welcoming to us when we stay there (this is our 3rd trip to her property). We can't wait for our next trip to this little forest paradise!"
