"We really liked the condo, the garden and environment. We missed wifi, otherwise it was excellent. We would have appreciated some written info about the house, nearby beaches, restaurants etc- including where to put the garbage and which pool that was available for us.."

  • lovely home with amazing view, everything you need

"We had a great time at Solimar. nice clean home with amazing view and breezes. Very nicely landscaped gardens and flowers blooming around the outdoor shower. I would love to go back when the weather is a bit cooler. there is amazing snorkeling at the area beaches and good food at Tuluum. Our only negatives were a dysfunctional DVD player and broken dishwasher, yet was worth every penny. Thank You Maria The Goldens"

  • Ideal Stay for Christmas Holiday in Festive San Juan

"Overall this beautiful, large condo is very comfortable and a great option for our family’s Christmas holiday (seven of us, our youngest was 17 and oldest was 63). It is close to Old San Juan without having to be in the thick of the touristy area. We loved the neighborhood because it’s where the locals live, very safe and it had all the creature comforts as well as authentic establishments and friendly people. You can take a quick cab or even walk to a number of places. We had a rental car and appreciated the condo’s parking space. There is a large Walmart nearby which the family chef enjoyed driving to and experiencing that multi-level experience in addition to walking to Pueblo a block away. Not having ever spent Christmas this far from our wintery home, it was a treat to spend a few hours at the beach on Christmas Day and then enjoy our own dinner in the condo. Hands down the best feature is the rooftop terrace with the vistas. With the Christmas season, we were treated to festive decorations on other terraces nearby and at night we could see the glow of decorated trees in windows. The second best feature is the master bath shower – it’s like a standing spa! Restaurants nearby that we enjoyed are Casita Miramar, Yamburger and Café Melanzana for breakfast. Two unique features of condo--one bedroom is located off the dining area, a lovely, relaxing room, just not a completely enclosed room. It’s ideal for someone who can sleep easily. The other feature is all the space – there is a lot, however the condo is on the third floor and no elevator, so we packed light. If you don’t pack light, the master bedroom suite has a huge walk in closet/storage room in fact each bedroom has plenty of room for unpacking your belongings for a long-term stay. Our teen had a corner of the master bedroom (it’s that large of a room) with an air mattress that stayed firm for a week! Features to keep in mind, the second bedroom is on the street side of the condo and even from third floor with AC blowing loud sounds will be heard. Mostly it is a very quiet street. The other is the WiFi couldn’t support all six of our devices at the same time. Jose attempted to have the issue addressed but with the Christmas weekend, no one ever came before our stay was over. We will always have fond memories of our Christmas in San Juan at Jeffrie’s condo."

  • Friendly hosts, great value

"Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) really enjoyed our stay at Ocean View Suites in the heart of Luquillo! The owners, Alex and Richelle, were friendly, responsive and very very helpful in terms of accommodating our schedule and giving advice about local attractions, restaurants, etc. This second-floor unit is in an older building located on Luquillo's main plaza, right next to La Pared beach. This is a nice, basic rental property. The 3 suites available on this property are all arranged around a central lobby and shared kitchen. All areas are squeaky clean and very well maintained. The balcony wraps around so you can see the ocean, plaza and a view of the rainforest from the second floor. When we were there, the breeze from the ocean meant there were no bugs, but had there been, there is AC in the units and screens on windows. Beach chairs and plenty of beach towels are part of the deal - very useful! A few things you should know that may be factors for you - though they were not for us: * There are three levels of security (locks, etc.) for your room, but this rental is NOT located in a "gated" or security community. It's right downtown. We felt very safe here, but know this is a consideration for others. Parking is on street (we had no problems finding space) or in the lot across the street. * This unit is on Luquillo's main plaza - fun for drinking coffee on the balcony and watching school kids head to school across the plaza, but less fun if people are driving through the plaza at night with the requisite LOUD radio. With doors shut and AC on, this was not a problem for us. * Water pressure in the unit was variable when we were there; we think this was more about a municipal water issue than any problem with the unit itself. The ENTIRE 3-unit space would be great for an extended family to share, something we are considering for future visits to the area."
