  • Beautiful just as described

"This is a beautiful villa. We rented both the upstairs and downstairs. It was nice because we brought my mom and dad who are elderly and our 2 boys so we were able to have a separate place upstairs to chill at night. Owners were very nice and helpful. Location was great. Wish we could have had a view of the ocean but it wasn't far to get to the beach. Hope to come back again. Thank you."

  • A little piece of paradise.

"All the positive reviews the Seagrape has received are legit. This spot is a little piece of paradise. If you are looking to getaway , this is a great rental. There's no reason to leave. The beach is your backyard, and the water is pleasant. You'll see very few people -- it's about as private as a beach as you'll find in Puerto Rico. A walking/jogging trail is a few feet away, as is a nature preserve (you can enter from the beach, even). Plenty of coconut palms to get your fill of coconut water (a hatchet is provided). The water is not the bathtub clear water of the Caribbean (it was windy), but snorkeling is possible and we did so a few times (though there is not much to see). Mostly, we just swam in the relatively shallow waters and smooth bottom. The surf was robust on a few days. The sand is soft, and though the beach had some seagrass (and some trash; it is not manicured), it was no bother. Watch the sunrise between Monkey Island (a short distance) and Vieques. A sea turtle laid her eggs on the last night we were there. If you want to venture out for scuba/snokel/boating, you are a short and easy trip (30 minutes) to a number of marinas in Fajardo. Flights to Culebra and Vieques are even closer (in Ceiba). El Yunque rainforest only a 45 minute drive. Seagrape has it all. Humacao is not a city like Old San Juan, so if city excitement is your gig then stay in San Juan. But, Humacao lacks nothing you'll need. There's a Walgreens, WalMart, Sams Club, groceries, and restaurants all within a few minute drive of the house. The Palmas Resort, which all the amenities, is a short 15 minute drive. A few restaurants and an ice cream shop (with irregular hours) are a short walk. Still, while sitting on the beach or on the back deck of the house, you feel a long way away from such things. If you want to visit Old San Juan, which we did, expect about 1.5 hour drive, sometimes in unpleasant traffic. Pick your times wisely. A trip to the airport is only a little over an hour (take the North route - 53 to 66) with plenty of kiosks to eat the local fare. The owners of the unit (Scott and Sebastian) are very helpful, providing any guidance you need and are always on call. The house is immaculately maintained, having everything you'll need (including snorkel gear and beach toys). The location feels safe, as it is a gated neighborhood and there is nothing nearby to draw a crowd. Would I go back? Without a doubt. Looking forward to it."

  • Great Location

"This location is a perfect one in Viejo San Juan. It's located near all of the shops and restaurants in town. It's also at a location which makes it easy to get out of town and head onto other places on this island. It's perfect. It's got an amazing view which over looks the waters and a fort. The apartment itself is fully equipped with all of your needs which includes a Britta water pitcher in the fridge so we always had ice cold water. The towels and bedding were top notch and made us feel like Bernardo and Irma really want to treat their visitors with class. Bernardo called to make sure that we had all that we needed and were happy with our choice, which we were."
