  • Can't go wrong here

"There isn't much to add to what's already been said other than to confirm that it's all true. This is an extremely clean and well-appointed villa that sits on a golf course near a pool and within walking distance to a private beach club. The villa has two floors, which allowed my wife and I some privacy from our two teenage sons (and them some privacy from us); a terrific deck on which to grill, have coffee and pre-dinner drinks, and to watch the birds in the surrounding palm trees and the occasional iguana in the field below (one was at least five feet long, from head to tip of tail, no joke); brand new All-Clad cookware; and extremely comfortable beds and linens. Everything was exactly as advertised. But what made this experience even easier was the customer service provided by Elliott and Rodrigo and by their property manager, Lydia. Elliott and Rodrigo were quick to respond right from the first inquiry and continued through my numerous follow-ups (showing a fair degree of patience, as well). They gave quick, detailed responses, and provided a ton of information about the area (where to shop, where to eat, what to do, etc.). Lydia met us at the villa and helped us settle in and was extremely accommodating in allowing us to get in early on check-in day and leave late on check-out. As for the vacation itself, we went at an interesting time because the first half of the vacation was during the long Easter weekend, which, we were told, was one of the busiest of the year. The place was packed with families and groups of friends celebrating the holiday at their vacation homes. It was loud and crowded, but, honestly, not in a spring-break-in-Florida kind of way. It was lively and festive and fun. It was loud at night, but, again, it wasn't college students binge drinking late into the night. It was more joyous and wholesome than that. (It's hard to describe, but hopefully you get what I mean.) After Easter, the place completely cleared out and we had the pool and beach almost literally to ourselves. We ended up doing little outside of the resort other than going up to the rainforest, which was very cool. We'd been locked inside a long New England winter for five months and just wanted to spend as much time at the pool and beach as possible. We had a terrific experience and whole-heartedly recommend this villa to anyone considering vacationing at Rio Mar."

  • Great location, beautiful view, outstanding condo, great owner

"This is a must stay location. View from 18th floor was one in a million. Shaka met us upon arrival and made us feel at home. He even stopped back the following day(Easter Sunday), to bring us local pastries. You can ask for anything more. The condo is located in such a great location we were 5 miles from old San Juan, 4 miles from Condado & 15 miles from El Yunque, National rain forest. The restaurant selection was good too. Not too crowded, but everything needed for a night out. No troubles at all. The only issue was there were no face cloths or bath mats. No big issue though. The draft when the patio doors were open was truly tropical. Security deposit refunded before we even got back home. Thanks Shaka thanks for your hospitality Regards Joe, Maureen, Lindsay & Casey"

  • very relaxing and beautiful vacation spot

"Wonderful view and ease of coming in and out of the house to the grass area and beach. Very private. It was nice to cook your own food and blend some Pina Coladas. Ralph's Supermarket in Humacao had a nice selection. Ocean water was warm and fun to use the boogie boards. Nice waves. Full security in the resort. You felt very safe. The only people that could use the beach were the residents of the resort homes and hotel. El Yunque National Rainforest nearby My husband and son enjoyed the Golf Club as well I recommend this trip for a family that likes a quiet and peaceful atmosphere"

  • Nice fit for our family

"This property was a great fit for our family. My husband and I traveled with three teenage girls. We had just the right amount of space for everyone to feel comfortable. The location was convenient to travel to El Yunque National Park, Seven Seas Beach. Luquillo Beach, and La Pared where the kids learned to surf. It was also right across the street from the Marina where we booked a day trip to Culebra. The gym and the pool were nice. Wish there had been lounge chairs to lay out on by the pool. There were beach chairs in the apartment that we could take to the beach though. The kids had hoped we were within walking distance to a beach but were not. Also hoped we could go running near the property but most of the streets in the area had limited sidewalks and no shoulder so we ended up on the treadmill. Overall though the apartment was nice."
