  • Very nice 4 BD 3.5 BA unit for our 2 families

"This unit was fantastic on many fronts. The verandas on the golf course and on the ocean side were both great for enjoying a cup of coffee and breakfast or a cocktail in the evening. The two person cabana was a nice additional relaxation space on the patio. The furnishings were up to date and quite functional (but not worn out) in the living room and dining area. The beds were comfortable and the technology in the master bath toilet bidet were pretty neat. I agree with other reviewers, the views from the balconies on both sides of the unit (being on the 5th floor) were really nice - the ocean view from the front and the lake and golf course view in the back were relaxing. Lots of parking available, and the golf carts provided easy access to the Gran Melia Resort - although one golf cart was quite a bit slower than the other but we dealt with it. Fully furnished kitchen with cups, plates, cookware, etc, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were all utilized during our stay. We used all the beds for the 9 of us, and used the sleeper sofa as well. Probably the best feature was using the golf carts and accessing the resort pool and beach and having pina coladas and such at the pool bars. Very relaxing... The location was close to local restaurants which we drove to more often vs. using the Gran Melia restaurants (more convenient given the proximity but overpriced). Lino the maintenance guy and the owner were helpful getting us ready for our stay and answered our questions during our stay. Highly recommend!"

  • Couple little things prevented a 5 star rating

"This house is wonderful, so much room for both indoor and outdoor living. The 5 bedrooms were great, the master was large with a very large bathroom and a walk in closet, the other bedrooms were adequate in size, all located in the back of the house so were very quiet. Tons of storage, laundry, and outdoor living space. The neighborhood was beautiful, gates always closed so very secure. What prevents that 5th star from us was a couple little things: we were told no loud music after 10 (after we got there, says nothing like that in description), then got reprimmanded by the realtor/caretaker Edgar a few days later for "loud talking/noise" til 4 am because apparently the HOA president lives next door. My co-renters were a bit younger and wanted to party so their thoughts were if you're renting for a vacation you should be able to do as you please but I guess that's the price you pay for being safe in a gated community. If you're there to party this may not be the place for you. Also one of the gate openers wasn't working and the pool was a bit green, pump not working, and water rather smelly when we arrived on Saturday. We told Edgar who promised he would drop off a gate opener that evening or next day and contact the pool guy. I had to text him again on Sunday evening, and he did bring us a new gate opener (highly inconvenient to have 1 to share for 9 people when we had trouble get in by punching the code given as instructed) but he kept asking if it had gotten wet, as though accusing us of breaking it. The first time we used the carport gate opener the button fell off-we didn't even tell him fearing he would blame us for that as well....and the pool guy never came til Tuesday after dark. He did do an amazing job cleaning the pool though, and all in all it was a great time, very nice rental. I would definitely rent it again."

  • Nice Place, Good Value Compared to a Resort Room

"Location in PR is really great. Short drive to restaurants, rain forest, beaches, and Fajardo boats. Traffic is ok in the area, nothing like San Juan. The place itself is in the gated "Village" within the gated complex. You must pass through two gates. Really hard to find on first arrival, as nothing is labeled. Ask security at the second gate how to get to your unit. The unit is one of the farthest ones from the beach and resort. And you will hear some road noise, but not when you're inside with the windows closed. You will have access to a beach area exclusive to the Villas. It's a nice beach with a pool and bar on weekends. But it's a good 8 minutes by golf cart. If going to that beach club area, I recommend driving a car if you have one, much easier. Plenty of parking. If going to the resort, I recommend taking the golf cart to avoid parking fees, but go really slow on the numerous road bumps! You will have access to casino, restaurants and beach. No access to fitness room unless you pay. Also, you're not technically allowed to use the pool, but security won't care. If you have kids, let them use the water slide! Casino is small, no waiters that I saw, but not totally rigged as I won on slots. The entire beach area around the resort is a really nice one, kids will enjoy finding thousands of sand dollars and even starfish. The villa is nice and spacious, kitchen and master areas are very big. There are no pics of the bathrooms but they are pretty nice. There's a tankless water heater that stays hot. There are three air conditioners, one in the main area, one in the loft, and one in the master. They work fine except the one in the master didn't turn off like the others. It would blow hard like normal, and then it would idle once the temperature was reached, so you can always hear it. The first couple nights, I didn't sleep very well. Not until I wore earplugs did I get a decent nights sleep. We told the owners who quickly hired an AC tech to look at it. He said it was because the remote was set to "Auto" rather than "cool", which is absurd. After we set it to "cool" it still wouldn't turn off completely. He acknowledged that, and because he didn't speak english, we didn't really have a solution and agreed the unit is just like that. The technician later told the owners that the problem was because it was set on "auto" which of course wasn't the problem. I recommended the owners change the unit."

  • Great location, lovely owner

"Our second time at Marbella Caribe and we love this location. Close to pool, beach and central to restaurants. Rita equipped our condo with lots of water and food to get us started. Very much appreciated. Thank you for your hospitality."
