  • Great Place To Stay On Vieques

"This vacation rental is so beautiful! The breathtaking views and beautiful artwork in and around the property are wonderful! We were very impressed with everything in and outside of the property. Mi Macondo is truly a gem and it provided my family a place in our memories we will never forget. Whether it was the warm breezes flowing down the hall, the tree frogs at night, the lizards climbing the walls, or the flowers blooming. Perfect! The kitchen had all the pots and pans, utensils, bowls, plates and glasses needed. Everything worked and operated properly. The water is great to drink, no need for bottled. The bedrooms are well furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and stylish. The only thing I would recommend bringing is a portable bluetooth speaker for smart phone link to all your favorite tunes around the pool or on the beach!"

  • Fabulous Place

"This is a terrific villa, especially for a large group. Our family of 11 (3 generations represented) found the accommodations to be very well-maintained, clean, spacious, well-situated close to town, but not too close. The hill-top site affords spectacular views, and pleasant tropical breezes. The property is nicely landscaped with a variety of tropical plants, shrubs and trees. We all enjoyed the pool, especially the grandchildren. The two kitchens were very well appointed for preparing your own meals. The owner's representative was prompt, friendly, and attentive in responding to our queries. The customer service was excellent. Among our extensive travels in the Caribbean, Vieques offers some of the most attractive, clean, uncluttered beaches we have ever seen. The people of the island are friendly, courteous and helpful. While we did almost all of our cooking on site, the two towns on the island offer a variety of restaurants. We enjoyed the fish market, the bakeries, and especially the farmers market. There's plenty to do on Vieques, and it's perfect just for relaxing. Either way, you won't be disappointed. I offer my highest recommendation for Casa de Luz, for a memorable time on Vieques."

  • Relaxing Stay

"Great rental in paradise! Our family of 5 stayed for 4 days but wish we could have stayed longer. Things we liked most: pool, covered outdoor area, private off street, and disconnected from devices (no internet or tv). Always a nice breeze so really didn't see many bugs. Kitchen nicely equipped - we only ate out once. Definitely need a jeep to access beaches (recommend Maritza's). Bio Bay and snorkeling a must. Hope to return some day!"

  • Perfect Paradise!

"Our family of 7 just returned from our third trip to the island. As we were climbing the hill, it felt a little sketchy-but quickly learned that we were in a perfect location! This villa is amazing! Perfect for a large group, families with teens, multiple couples. If you hate the sounds of nature, then this is not the place for you! Luckily my family enjoys the roosters, coqui, horses, dogs, and multiple types of birds that treat you to a symphony every evening and before rising in the morning! The driveway is very difficult to pull into and there is a slight hill when entering from the front. (my elderly mother could not walk up the grass steps)...but we were able to access the driveway behind the property for loading and unloading. My eldest son enjoyed the casita as his own while my 13 year old twins took over the downstairs apartment! The two main floor bedrooms were perfect for my mother and for my teenage daughter (with an extra twin bed still available in granny's room). Best of all, my husband and I took the main dwelling upstairs bedroom-perfect! We could do our usual "Vieques rise early" with out bothering anyone! Then I would promptly position myself on the upper deck with coffee in hand-to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around! Case des Colores is beautifully and comfortably appointed and has everything to make your vacation easy and perfect. I'm not a fan of cooking on vacation, especially with all of the great restaurants Vieques has to offer, but you certainly could if you needed to. Unfortunately, it's been a wet summer in Vieques and the mosquitos have been terrible! This villa is so surrounded by beautiful vegetation that the mosquitos were out of control! This is nobody's fault but Mother Nature-but it did make enjoying the pool close to impossible. The breezes of the upper deck seemed to help keep them away. The house managers, Kelly and Cheo were super nice and responsive. They did have the house fogged for us, but like I said, Mother Nature will have her way. By the way, being met at the airport by Cheo is a treat in and of itself! His island vibe, and tidbits that he shares are a great way to start your vacation! It was nice to know that they were just a phone call away if we needed anything. This villa is great for kids because there's just a lot of room for them to be kids! While the villa is exquisite it is also very comfortable-great decor! If we owned a villa here-I'd want it to be this one!"
