  • Our 'home away from home' at the beautiful Casa de Pepito!

"This Vieques vacation was super special for my husband, son & I. We were hoping to experience the island in a more traditional setting and staying at this beautiful home in the heart of Esperanza was exactly what we were looking for and more! We loved everything about it, the comfort of the home and the amenities provided by the owners, the location in the village itself, a short walk to the Malecon, the local eateries, shopping & beaches. The home itself is well manintained, immaculate, and has everything you might need for an island vacation. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms was key as my 17-yr old son appreciated his privacy, as did we. The king and queen beds were super comfortable, and were outfitted with beautiful luxurious bedding that conformed to the serene white theme in each of the rooms. The bath linens were so fluffly & smelled so fresh, not like hotel towels! When in need, there was individual AC in each room as well. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need to prepare and cook a dinner, even a Weber grill outside! Having wifi was beneficial when we wanted to connect, which we didn't do too often. We loved that the fridge had the water/ice feature, as we were able to refill bottles to take to the beaches everyday. As we did quite a bit of beach adventures and snorkeling, it was great to have a cooler, umbrella, chairs and extra gear to take along if we needed it, and we did! Upon returning from our days, the outside shower was a plus for cleaning off sand from us and our equipment. We thoroughly loved spending time on the porch in the mornings and evenings enjoying the island sounds of the birds, horses and frogs. We knew as soon as we booked this home it was the best choice because a lovely rapport began with the owners, Catherine & Octavian. They were so willing to help us with suggestions for anything we needed or were concerned about, even car rentals. The caretaker, Aurelio, was super pleasant & friendly, and he provided great 'local' information; best snorkeling beaches, BioBay tours, where to shop locally for groceries & pastries (bakery around the corner!), and where to eat on the Malecon - Bananas for lunch, Bili for dinner, LazyJacks for pizza/bar. Book reservations for The Next Course & hit TinBox f/ BBQ. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives; it's perfect for 2 couples, or a family looking to get away from it all, but close enough to experience real island life!"

  • Perfect Paradise!

"Our family of 7 just returned from our third trip to the island. As we were climbing the hill, it felt a little sketchy-but quickly learned that we were in a perfect location! This villa is amazing! Perfect for a large group, families with teens, multiple couples. If you hate the sounds of nature, then this is not the place for you! Luckily my family enjoys the roosters, coqui, horses, dogs, and multiple types of birds that treat you to a symphony every evening and before rising in the morning! The driveway is very difficult to pull into and there is a slight hill when entering from the front. (my elderly mother could not walk up the grass steps)...but we were able to access the driveway behind the property for loading and unloading. My eldest son enjoyed the casita as his own while my 13 year old twins took over the downstairs apartment! The two main floor bedrooms were perfect for my mother and for my teenage daughter (with an extra twin bed still available in granny's room). Best of all, my husband and I took the main dwelling upstairs bedroom-perfect! We could do our usual "Vieques rise early" with out bothering anyone! Then I would promptly position myself on the upper deck with coffee in hand-to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around! Case des Colores is beautifully and comfortably appointed and has everything to make your vacation easy and perfect. I'm not a fan of cooking on vacation, especially with all of the great restaurants Vieques has to offer, but you certainly could if you needed to. Unfortunately, it's been a wet summer in Vieques and the mosquitos have been terrible! This villa is so surrounded by beautiful vegetation that the mosquitos were out of control! This is nobody's fault but Mother Nature-but it did make enjoying the pool close to impossible. The breezes of the upper deck seemed to help keep them away. The house managers, Kelly and Cheo were super nice and responsive. They did have the house fogged for us, but like I said, Mother Nature will have her way. By the way, being met at the airport by Cheo is a treat in and of itself! His island vibe, and tidbits that he shares are a great way to start your vacation! It was nice to know that they were just a phone call away if we needed anything. This villa is great for kids because there's just a lot of room for them to be kids! While the villa is exquisite it is also very comfortable-great decor! If we owned a villa here-I'd want it to be this one!"

  • "Best Wedding Ever!"

"Our daughter just had (in her words) "the best wedding ever" at Villa Vista Linda. We looked at just about every possible place to have a destination wedding on Vieques and nowhere compared to VVL for charm, privacy, natural beauty, and stunning views. As another reviewer said, the place has WOW factor galore. At the same time, it's not so fussy and fancy that people can't relax and feel at home. It easily accommodated our 85 guests for a ceremony on the lawn, cocktails by the pool, and dinner and dancing in the first floor entertainment area. Ten of us spent a week at the villa before and after the wedding -- swimming in the huge pool, enjoying the breeze on the upstairs balcony, shooting game after game of pool. The villa and its grounds are so big that we could spread out and have private time, too. The bride and groom stayed in the casita where they had their own little love nest. The villa is a short drive from the restaurants and bars in Esperanza as well as Tin Box, Noche, and the Next Course. The "Green Store" market is nearby, too. Karen, the property manager, bent over backwards to make sure that the wedding and our stay in general were just perfect. She was on call 24/7 for troubleshooting and questions. I'm tempted to call her right now and book our next stay!"

  • Paradise found.

"My husband and I have stayed at many nice places and been fortunate enough to have many wonderful vacations, but our stay at Quinta Jabali and the island of Vieques tops every vacation we have ever had. It has set the bar very high as we explore other parts of the world to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in 2016. Every detail was thought of at Quinta Jabali. We enjoyed the house, the pool and the roof top. The house manager, Joey, went to the extra trouble of having some requested groceries at the house when we arrived. Joey also met us at the airport, drove us to the rental company and then took us to the house to explain everything we would need for the week. I can't recommend this rental enough. It is truly a magical, romantic hide-away. An added bonus was having the black sand beach nearby."
