  • Quiet and relaxing. Nick and Gloria are wonderful hosts.

"My wife and I just returned from Mont Vernon on May 13th, and I'd return right now if someone offered. What a beautiful place to relax and unwind. This was our second trip to Saint Martin and our second stay with Nick and Gloria. Mont Vernon is quiet and away from most of the tourist attractions, which is great because you can get a feel for the island the way it really is. You will be on the French side during your stay, everyone speaks English, but you'll want to remember merci. The island is only 37 sq. miles so you can be in Phillipsburg, Marigot, or the airport in about 1/2 hour for dining, shopping, etc. Getting around the island is pretty easy once you get used to it. There is a main highway around the island with off shoots to various parts. It took this American a few days to get used to the roundabouts, but just follow along, it's easy. Dining is available for any kind of palate you have. The only downside to spending a week there is that you will have to leave and go home. Now, here is your plan: BOOK. THE. TRIP. When you arrive, rent a car. Go eat at Skip Jacks (or anywhere for that matter), head to The Grande Marche on Bush Road and get yourself some groceries (yes, they have PLENTY of food you'll recognize). Cruise around the island to Mont Vernon. Meet up with Gloria. Get checked in. Stow your food. Grab your swim suit. Follow the stone path to the pool. Kick your flip flops off. Go through the gate to the beach. Spread out your towel. Sit down. Take a DEEP breath. Relax. You're on island time now. Let the ocean breeze carry your troubles away. Thank You Nick and Gloria. Hope to see you soon."

  • Second stay and planning a third...

"This week-long stay found us back and enjoying ourselves from the moment we got off the plane having gotten our bearings from our first trip. Taking Judith's advice on car rental allowed us to enjoy Maho, Marigot and Phillipsburg with ease. Fave beach? Mullet Bay Beach, barely 15 minutes from the villa by car. Some resorts feel like they are just that. But here, we felt as in a home away from home and right on the sea! Forget resorts where maybe you can glimpse the sea; here the home is literally on the edge of the sea and from the verandah you can see, hear and smell the surf crashing on the shore. The pool area has been nicely upgraded and is lit for a night swim. This community/enclave consists of about 23 homes and has an exclusive feeling to it without being over-the-top. Having been there twice, I can assure you that the cleanliness and condition of the home is consistent and reliable. This means much to those of us who have had our hearts sink when opening the door to less-than-pleasing conditions. That just won't happen here. Simple, tidy, clean with enough touches that let you know the owner has you and your enjoyment in mind. My Significant Other, who was also here with me the first trip and who has more experience than I holidaying says this home is her fave of all places she has stayed in the Caribbean...and that is saying a lot! Sylma is the local lady to call who, aside from keeping the property well-managed and clean, can assist with other issues when you may be unsure of who to call. While the airport is close enough to observe planes coming in, there is no noise issue. Indeed, it really is a quiet and relaxing home. Being just off the road, it is very low in both vehicle and foot traffic. And this enhances the privacy and calm aspect as you can imagine. I should also add that it has a safe feeling to it, always a concern when trying out a new place to relax. In closing, I am not surprised this home is popular and books well. This villa deserves it!"

  • Simply the best!!!

"Our family of 8, just returned from our 9 days in St. Martin.....the Jewel is everything you expect and more! The villa is breathtaking and spotless. Booking this vacation couldn't have been any easier - Ginny is amazing. She answered all of my questions and I loved her tip sheet. We were a busy bunch -we did 4 boat trips - one to swim with the dolphins in Anquilla on the Tango, one to St. Bart's to tour the island on ATV's, a snorkeling trip with Scuba Fun Dive shop and than a speed boat around the island to see sea turtles and stop at Pinel Island and Creole Rock. We had a great dinner at Daniel's by the Sea and than another night had lots of laughs for the show at Cheri's. We spent a relaxing afternoon at Loterie Farms and also did shopping in Philipsburg and Marigot. We still had plenty of time to relax at the house and enjoy the pool and the decks to enjoy the amazing view! Ursula made us her famous ribs, rice and potato salad, which was enjoyed by everyone. We loved feeding the iguana's and seeing numerous monkeys around the island! Thank you Ginny for sharing your amazing home with us!!!"

  • Lovely stay at orient beach

"We just recently returned from a lovely stay at Casa Azul. We have rented this villa several times with friends and also other families, and this past trip, two families with four young children. Veronique has always been very responsive and helpful, and this time she left a basket of beach and pool toys, and supplied two cribs and two high chairs for us. She also helped us find an English speaking babysitter so we could enjoy two nights out to dinner away from the kids. The village is very convenient to shop and get croissants and baguettes. We always have a lovely time and can't wait to come back!!"
