  • Absolutely Wonderful!

"I honestly cannot say enough about what a fantastic time we had in St. Maarten. We love this villa and will definitely return! My husband and I came here for our annual adult escape and the property was perfect, the location is perfect, you can walk to the beach, bars, restaurants and the local store if you need anything small. We rented a jeep and explored the island every day. The people we met were so friendly too! When we arrived, the villa was clean, the pool was clear and Jill arrived with a welcome gift for us. Gordon was so nice to stop by and walk through everything, and gave us tips on places to go. Jill was excellent with helping us make all of the arrangements, thank you again! Next time we will return with friends! I highly recommend Captain Neil with the Celine Too, any of his trips will not disappoint. We ate all over the island, loved Orient Beach and Great Bay Beach. A few of the places we went to: Buccaneer Beach Bar, Greenhouse, Café Atlantico, St. Maarten Yacht Club, The Sky's the Limit, Skipjacks, Pineapple Petes, Dinghy Dock (drinks), Busby's Beach Bar, Calmos, Sunset Beach Bar, and Taloula Mangos! Definitely try the lobster at Skipjacks, and the Guavaberry Coladas at Sunset Beach Bar and Taloula Mangos. The food was excellent, the service was much slower but that is expected in the islands. Also, the dive master who lives below is extremely quiet, we rarely knew he was around. The cleaning lady was so nice to come in midweek to clean up and the pool man was also very friendly! Take the time to enjoy this amazing island, visit as many beaches as you can! We didn't like Mullet Bay Beach, but that was just us. Found it too quiet, and didn't like sliding down the sand to get to the water, but it was very popular for families. We truly had no major issues, loved running around all day and coming back to this beautiful villa. Stay away from the time share scams, they will just waste your time and believe me nothing is free! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home, we will definitely be back and will recommend this to our friends! I am not sure about staying here with kids (ours would need a hotel with other kids and activities) but the room for the kids is fabulous and the pool is excellent!"

  • Nothing like this Beauty

"if you're thinking me, you will not be disappointed. PROS: The view was absolutely breathtaking. The house was beautiful, everything was so unique. The master bedroom has a twin bed, which was very comfortable for our 12 year old. Each room has air conditioning. The market surprisingly had a lot of the foods and snacks that we love and it's about 5 minutes away. There are also some absolutely delicious restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are less than 5 minutes away, driving. Bruno and Corrine are such hard workers and were such a delight. My travel party included my 12 year old, husband, 2 of our best friends and my mom. It was just perfect. Bring your own snorkel gear as there is a ladder that leads to the sea and there is plenty to see. You will catch cruise ships coming and going. At night, the stars look amazing. Lizards and Iguanas for your viewing pleasure throughout the property. CONS: Mosquitoes were quite prevalent. We spent a lot of money purchasing mosquito repellent but I guess the mosquitoes loved me. I was bit at least 40 times. Thankfully, my daughter didn't get bit, probably because she stayed in the pool. My husband only got bit a few times. SUMMARY: All in all, I would stay here again, no question. La Calanthe is very Tranquil, peaceful, clean and absolutely stunning. I recommend a rental car. We've traveled to many places and often do not rent cars and rely on cabs, however, if we had taken a cab everywhere, we would have spent a ridiculous amount of money. Seriously, if you don't rent a car, you should probably plan on staying in your home or resort. The directions to get around are very easy, Surprisingly. Very Private! I can't wait to go back."

  • Second stay and planning a third...

"This week-long stay found us back and enjoying ourselves from the moment we got off the plane having gotten our bearings from our first trip. Taking Judith's advice on car rental allowed us to enjoy Maho, Marigot and Phillipsburg with ease. Fave beach? Mullet Bay Beach, barely 15 minutes from the villa by car. Some resorts feel like they are just that. But here, we felt as in a home away from home and right on the sea! Forget resorts where maybe you can glimpse the sea; here the home is literally on the edge of the sea and from the verandah you can see, hear and smell the surf crashing on the shore. The pool area has been nicely upgraded and is lit for a night swim. This community/enclave consists of about 23 homes and has an exclusive feeling to it without being over-the-top. Having been there twice, I can assure you that the cleanliness and condition of the home is consistent and reliable. This means much to those of us who have had our hearts sink when opening the door to less-than-pleasing conditions. That just won't happen here. Simple, tidy, clean with enough touches that let you know the owner has you and your enjoyment in mind. My Significant Other, who was also here with me the first trip and who has more experience than I holidaying says this home is her fave of all places she has stayed in the Caribbean...and that is saying a lot! Sylma is the local lady to call who, aside from keeping the property well-managed and clean, can assist with other issues when you may be unsure of who to call. While the airport is close enough to observe planes coming in, there is no noise issue. Indeed, it really is a quiet and relaxing home. Being just off the road, it is very low in both vehicle and foot traffic. And this enhances the privacy and calm aspect as you can imagine. I should also add that it has a safe feeling to it, always a concern when trying out a new place to relax. In closing, I am not surprised this home is popular and books well. This villa deserves it!"

  • Best of St. Maarten

"Our family consisting of children 6 & 10 years and 3 adults spent a week in May 2016 at this breathtaking property. Before we even left we were provided with recommendations for car rentals, activities, dining options, etc. by the property owner. The pool was perfect for our kids. They spent more time in the pool than in the villa most days. The view from the deck was amazing and we had a great time exploring the beach for shells. All the utensils, pots and pans we needed to stay in and cook were provided. Although there were really nice restaurants in walking distance - kids loved Buccaneers Bar and the croissants from Bon Apetit down the road. Driving the island to various beaches was relatively easy. The beds and bedding was incredibly comfortable and the sleeping arrangements were perfect (bunks, large bed downstairs & upper master suite). Very large ceiling fans in the bedrooms and main living area provided additional comfort from the heat. We would absolutely return to Incognito. Beautiful home, great layout, fantastic pool and breathtaking views. What more could you ask for?!!"
