  • Relaxing and peaceful property

"We were here March 2016. Group of 4 adults. 1st time not using an all inclusive resort. Large 2 bedroom + loft unit. Very spacious, clean, and unbelievably quiet. We couldn't believe how the only sounds we heard were the waves of the ocean. View from 2nd floor balcony was beautiful. Even though there is a parking lot in between the condo and the beach, you can't see it through the landscaping and it isn't used at night. The view from the bedrooms balconies were of the mountains and the surrounding village. All of us thought the beds were incredible! Clean. The unit had all we needed and the manager Julie answered all our questions quickly and effectively. We asked for a BBQ and she got one. The loft would only be good for children as it is open concept into the living room / kitchen area so sleeping in the a.m. would be difficult if that was a need. We had a cleaning lady come in once and she did a great job. We wish we had more towels in between the once visit. There is a washing machine but we didn't end up using it. Parking included. Building is very safe and is locked on all sides. We wish we had been given 4 keys instead of 2 as difficult when we were going back and forth to the beach at different times but not a huge deal. The pool is small and walled in without a view. You would never use it during the day as there is no wind and the area gets very hot. We used it at the end of the day for a cool off. The beach is beautiful (with the exception of some minor seaweed but we know that this is common throughout most if not all the Caribbean right now). It's in a relatively quiet area of the Orient Beach scene but a close walk if you need more action and about 15 minute walk to the nude beach (which is calmer as its in a bay). We weren't happy with the service at Waikiki Beach which provided the chairs/umbrellas as part of the condo deal. They NEVER came and asked us for service (drinks or food). They would only serve the customers of Waikiki and we weren't allowed to sit in the more comfortable chairs. They would take the umbrellas away at 3:30/4:00 if the cruise customers had left as they wanted to go home. The bathrooms at Waikiki were gross!!!! We saw staff using the chair sheds to have sex with tourists! Thank goodness we were a short walk to our condo. Night life is quiet. A short walk to the Village - pricey but good. They take US dollars at par at most places which was good for us instead of Euro. Highly recommend Princess Eden unit!"

  • Location, Location, Location

"I've just returned from a month in Catalina apartment. You could not ask for a better address in Grand Case. The apartment had direct access to the beach with a view of the Caribbean unmatched regardless of price. A few steps out the front door and you have your choice of the top rated restaurants in St. Martin. Within the block, there is a bakery, small grocer, a spa and numerous clothing and beach related shops. The apartment is as pictured with the exception of there being no TVs in the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped; the baths and bedrooms larger than expected. There is one correction that needs to be made to the listing. It is by no means handicapped accessible. The location is on the second floor, some 16 steps up. The beach is a second flight of stairs down from the lobby. As I have problems with mobility, it presented a daily challenge. Finally, my thanks to Phillipe who was more than helpful. When there was a problem or question he was available to solve or answer the concern. And to Jean Pierre and Isabelle who are kind enough to share this outstanding location. Merci!"

  • Perfect!

"We booked Villa Valhalla for a week as just a couple and WOW! There's so much to say, but will try to cover the highlights. We have been all over the Caribbean and this is the first time we really had no motivation to leave the house - for only good reasons! The house is extremely comfortable, well appointed, and has the most unbelievable panoramic view. The house and location are the perfect balance of being completely isolated to being close to all of the amenities of the island (beach, shopping, restaurants, etc). The pool is great for both lounging and doing short laps, and was the perfect temperature - a rare find. Although there is no air conditioning in the main living space, it does not need it (bedrooms have it). With the sliders open, the cross breeze through the house makes hanging out inside perfectly comfortable. The shade on the patio also provides plenty of relief from the sun. Being in a gated community was not an important factor for us, but does add piece of mind. Catherine and Ken (the local hosts) were extremely helpful in regards to answering questions and just all around good company for the week. They prepared an incredible four-course meal one of our nights there while we enjoyed the view from the outdoor dining area. The dinner was WELL WORTH THE PRICE. It was hands down the best meal we had on the island all week, and we had plenty of leftovers. Daphne was also very helpful in answering any questions prior to the trip - very responsive. This was hands down the easiest, most comfortable, beautiful, and convenient property we've visited. If we ever make it back to St.Maarten, we'll definitely be back!"
