  • A very special place

"This property is absolutely beautiful. It is hard to understand how magical the house is until you are there. The photos do not do it justice. The sound of the birds and insects is amazing. The view is the best on the island. As the house is open on one side, be sure to put belongings away when it rains. We were here during the rainy season and when it rained hard, spray did come into the house. The furniture was fine, but books and computers left out did get wet. Also be aware that the floor is slippery when wet! Mary and Pius were very accommodating. They took care of all of our needs. It was a little challenging at times communicating with the owner. He travels a lot and sometimes did not get back to us for several days. We had a few miscommunications when trying to clarify information through Pius and Mary. I wish we had checked back with the owner for more clarity. Overall, we really loved our experience. We spent three magical weeks here and would stay here again."

  • WOW! World class view, home, and people!

"Along with our two daughters we stayed for four nights at La Bagatelle. As everyone has stated, the view is spectacular. More importantly, working with Nancy, Paul, and Valinda made the stay that much more enjoyable. Special recognition to Nancy as we had a couple of challenges, caused by me, which Nancy worked through very professionally. Thank you! We've traveled to the islands in the Caribbean more than 15 times and this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one of our most enjoyable. Need to emphasize the value in this villa as Valinda will shop and prepare (or at least assist in prep) any/all/most meals. She made us a fish creole which was out of site! I think I read where someone said the kitchen was outdated. That's bunk. The kitchen is fine. House is great. Took a day to get used to as our living room is wide open! Couple of highlights: Transportation-Nancy recommends Popo and so do I. My wife wanted to bring him home with us. Great guy, patient(remember, I was with 2 daughters and a wife.....), knowledgable, and knows EVERYONE. We used him once a day which was cheaper than a car rental. Plus the peace of mind not driving on St. L roads and in town. As Nancy states in description the road is rough and narrow. Hence, my reasoning for letting Popo do the driving. Excursions--We walked to the Anse Chastenet beach...it's a solid 15 minutes DOWN ( I timed it) and 20 UP. Go to the beach on "the side" which is Anse Mamin. Quiet and has great restaurant. Highly recommend the Tet Paul trail especially at Sunset. We did Hot Chocolate tour. Hiked the Gros Piton. Don't be fooled, it's 25% hike and 75% climb. Beautiful once your up there though. Did the market on Saturday morning and picked up bananas, plantains, coconut water, and fish. Really fun to be "in town" and experience the people and culture of St. Lucia Overall, we had a great experience with the people and property and would definitely recommend this to others."

"My family of 5 (children late teens/early 20s) had a fabulous Christmas and New Years stay at Mandoo. The house is exactly as you see in the photos. It might not be fancy, but it more than compensates with comfort, space and the most incredible location. The house is perfectly situated on the saddle of a peninsula with ocean views in both directions. The grounds are extensive so you feel unconstrained and relaxed. Rooms were spacious and had great views. Love the outdoor shower too. Kitchen is functional but if you are a Julia Childs you would be feeling constrained. Beds were comfortable. We did rent a car through Guys (they dropped it at the house) as we wanted the freedom to explore, but used Owen's taxi service to get to and from the airport (which was a good decision). Activities that we can highly recommend include: Jus Sail: private 1/2 day sailing on beautifully restored Carriacou Sloop Exodus: private motor boat charter for 1/2 day to take us down to Pitons Zip Lining: If you haven't done before, it's a great setting. Try to avoid the cruise ship crowd. Aquaholics Kite Surfing in Cas em Bas - what a rush, and fantastic setting Cas em Bas hiking with most stunning ocean views and secluded beaches Visit to Marigold bay Visit to Anse Couchon for snorkeling and/or scuba We also used Windjammer for beaching and walked down the cove from there to East Winds Inn beach as its more secluded. Weather was fantastic. Went to a lot of different restaurants and was impressed with quality of food for the Carribean. Mary Anne and Anthony were very helpful and unobtrusive. All in it was a great vacation. We feel extremely lucky that the Morgans have made their house available. It is quite the spot."

"My family and I stayed at Simon Lewis's 2 Bdrm Apartment from March 31, 2016 through April 8th. The 2 Bdrms are formed by joining a 1 Bdrm apartment with an adjoining studio room, and combined they are one entire floor in one of the buildings you can see in the pictures. I can honestly say this is the nicest property we have ever stayed, and Simon's apartment is perfectly located overlooking the pool and marina. You can walk from the pool to Simon's apartment in 30 seconds. This property is definitely high end, and is void of all the typical annoyances that come with normal vacation rentals (e.g. people reserving pool chairs when they are not in the pool, checking towels in and out, etc). The staff is very friendly, and they make a point of learning your names. They also go the extra mile by bringing you bottled water while at the pool, along with a couple of rounds of complimentary drinks (in shot glasses) during the day. There is no "check out time", you leave your room when it is time for you to go to the airport to catch your flight. Marigot Bay is truly picturesque, with the Northern half being mostly undeveloped. There are 6 restaurants around the bay (or very nearby), not including the Capella. Overall I would rate the food as good, but not fantastic (the food at the Capella was probably the best), and prices are high but not outrageous as at some other islands. The road conditions are really bad, so if you haven't been to St. Lucia before you absolutely do not want to rent a car from the airport and try to find the Capella. I rented a car with help from my "personal assistant" at the Capella, and it was quite reasonable. I also did not find this to be the best island for beaches or snorkeling. However, the people on the island are very friendly, and if you like the contrasting scenery of a mountainous island and clear blue Caribbean water, this is the place for you. All-in-all this is an outstanding property, and Simon is renting it at a very reasonable price for what you get. This is also the easiest rental process I every had through VRBO. Thank you Simon!!!"
