  • WOW! World class view, home, and people!

"Along with our two daughters we stayed for four nights at La Bagatelle. As everyone has stated, the view is spectacular. More importantly, working with Nancy, Paul, and Valinda made the stay that much more enjoyable. Special recognition to Nancy as we had a couple of challenges, caused by me, which Nancy worked through very professionally. Thank you! We've traveled to the islands in the Caribbean more than 15 times and this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one of our most enjoyable. Need to emphasize the value in this villa as Valinda will shop and prepare (or at least assist in prep) any/all/most meals. She made us a fish creole which was out of site! I think I read where someone said the kitchen was outdated. That's bunk. The kitchen is fine. House is great. Took a day to get used to as our living room is wide open! Couple of highlights: Transportation-Nancy recommends Popo and so do I. My wife wanted to bring him home with us. Great guy, patient(remember, I was with 2 daughters and a wife.....), knowledgable, and knows EVERYONE. We used him once a day which was cheaper than a car rental. Plus the peace of mind not driving on St. L roads and in town. As Nancy states in description the road is rough and narrow. Hence, my reasoning for letting Popo do the driving. Excursions--We walked to the Anse Chastenet beach...it's a solid 15 minutes DOWN ( I timed it) and 20 UP. Go to the beach on "the side" which is Anse Mamin. Quiet and has great restaurant. Highly recommend the Tet Paul trail especially at Sunset. We did Hot Chocolate tour. Hiked the Gros Piton. Don't be fooled, it's 25% hike and 75% climb. Beautiful once your up there though. Did the market on Saturday morning and picked up bananas, plantains, coconut water, and fish. Really fun to be "in town" and experience the people and culture of St. Lucia Overall, we had a great experience with the people and property and would definitely recommend this to others."

  • Gorgeous!!

"This place is magnificent. I do not have one bad thing to say about the property or the staff on sight. Clavie (the driver) was incredible and helped out so much. He basically knows everyone in town and was able to hook us up with the right people to do personal tours. Terri provided us with fresh ground spices and coffee. Stephanie and her staff made some great meals for us and picked up some groceries for us on her way up so we didn't miss a beat of the beautiful view. Our group went up to Jade Mountain resort for lunch one day and it was spectacular. It's definitely on the pricey side but worth a visit just to see the view and the unusual architecture of the property. Anse Chastanet is a very steep walk down the hill about 10 minutes and Anse Mamin is another 5 minute (flat) walk around the waters edge. The walk up the hill is pretty difficult and should be taken with caution. I'm sure Clavie would be happy to pick you up if you give him enough warning. I did the walk in flip flops but I would not recommend it for elderly or physically unfit individuals. We were also concerned about not having air conditioned in the 90 degree heat, but it really doesn't matter. We all slept soundly as there are ceiling fans and floor fans provided. I highly recommend this property."

  • Late review, but not because the trip wasn't awesome!

"We stayed at Owen's beautiful Caille Blanc Villa for 10 days and it was truly amazing. The villa is even more stunning in person, the entire experience just feels like a dream while you are there. I woke up every morning blown away by the view and how lucky we were to be there. It has to be one of the best views on the Island. The staff were great, they took care of our every need and were extremely nice, they were like family by the time our group left. Marilyn is a great cook and we weren't let down by any meals. The Villa is close to almost all of the stuff you want to do there, the Pitons, Volcanic mud baths, zip lining, restaurants, it has a great location to get out and do that stuff. The only downside to the location was walking to the beach, getting there isn't bad, 10-15 minutes but getting back is a pretty good hike up a serious incline, if you have older people with you perhaps you should drive down. Owen has a driver James who takes good care of you, he is almost always available to take you wherever you need to go. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone going for a relaxing retreat with family or friends. We had both with us and the Villa is designed to keep you together when you want to be but also big enough and with enough privacy to be apart when you get sick of each other! TV service and internet are definitely spotty but i think they are working on that, i would recommend getting your work done before you go so you don't have to rely on any technology, it is vacation after all. Owen really went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect stay, he was very hands on and i have never experienced another vacation home owner with his level of care and professionalism, it was really greatly appreciated. We didn't have to worry about anything once we got there and that is really what a vacation like this is all about. We all promised to come back in a few years after we see a few other parts of the world, but when we do go back to St. Lucia we will be staying at Caille Blanc. Special shout out to the staff, each of whom were awesome. Thanks Yellow, Paulea, Georgiana, Albert, Kolin and of course Marilyn. If you guys can put up with us you can put up with anyone! If yuo decide to stay at this villa definitely go check at Balenbouche state, Owen will tell you all about it and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. Thanks again Owen for opening up your beautiful home to us, hope to see you up in NY some time!"

  • Truly a Unique and Fun Experience

"Before we reserved the tree house I read most if not all the reviews and I would encourage you to do that also. I don't have too much to add to them as they are all spot on. The Treehouse 1 is a great experience! I will add that everyone that we encountered along the way were awesome, Including Sam, Charmaine, Terry (get some of his coffee beans, outstanding) , both taxi drivers and Kevin the water taxi driver we met and hired that took us on a boat tour from one end of the island to the other on the west side and we saw sights you could never see from land, it was beyond beautiful. it cost ~$350 US per day + tip for sights we will never forget. Thanks to Kevin and Charmaine for the Birthday cakes you baked for Michele!! We hope to go again in Jan, and we are going to give Treehouse 2 a try. The island of St. Lucia in general is so pretty and green, flowers and tropical fruits all over the place, birds galore, and the cats that live in TH 1 are fun too, they were no problem at all. We did the mud baths, and it was fun. Eat at Maries if you can. Thanks to all !!! ALSO BE SURE YOUR PASSPORT IS VALID FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AFTER YOUR TRIP, OR YOU WILL HAVE TO GET IT RENEWED BEFORE YOU GO."
