  • A very special place

"This property is absolutely beautiful. It is hard to understand how magical the house is until you are there. The photos do not do it justice. The sound of the birds and insects is amazing. The view is the best on the island. As the house is open on one side, be sure to put belongings away when it rains. We were here during the rainy season and when it rained hard, spray did come into the house. The furniture was fine, but books and computers left out did get wet. Also be aware that the floor is slippery when wet! Mary and Pius were very accommodating. They took care of all of our needs. It was a little challenging at times communicating with the owner. He travels a lot and sometimes did not get back to us for several days. We had a few miscommunications when trying to clarify information through Pius and Mary. I wish we had checked back with the owner for more clarity. Overall, we really loved our experience. We spent three magical weeks here and would stay here again."

  • Exquisite & the envy of St. Lucia

"Don't forget your camera ! You will want to look at that view forever! Extremely special place and having travelled all over the world, there are also very special people in St Lucia. Beauty & smiles abounds in all directions. The property and house are stunning. If one appreciates historically designed homes for locations such as this, you will appreciate the house even more. Everything perfectly designed for comfort and maximum use of the views. The staff were amazing and the food equally as delightful. Having two hotels close by permitted us to also enjoy restaurants and the beach. Climb down the mountain side with Tiki to the private rock beach if you have the power or be lazy around the pool with a cold Piton beer!"

  • WOW! World class view, home, and people!

"Along with our two daughters we stayed for four nights at La Bagatelle. As everyone has stated, the view is spectacular. More importantly, working with Nancy, Paul, and Valinda made the stay that much more enjoyable. Special recognition to Nancy as we had a couple of challenges, caused by me, which Nancy worked through very professionally. Thank you! We've traveled to the islands in the Caribbean more than 15 times and this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and one of our most enjoyable. Need to emphasize the value in this villa as Valinda will shop and prepare (or at least assist in prep) any/all/most meals. She made us a fish creole which was out of site! I think I read where someone said the kitchen was outdated. That's bunk. The kitchen is fine. House is great. Took a day to get used to as our living room is wide open! Couple of highlights: Transportation-Nancy recommends Popo and so do I. My wife wanted to bring him home with us. Great guy, patient(remember, I was with 2 daughters and a wife.....), knowledgable, and knows EVERYONE. We used him once a day which was cheaper than a car rental. Plus the peace of mind not driving on St. L roads and in town. As Nancy states in description the road is rough and narrow. Hence, my reasoning for letting Popo do the driving. Excursions--We walked to the Anse Chastenet beach...it's a solid 15 minutes DOWN ( I timed it) and 20 UP. Go to the beach on "the side" which is Anse Mamin. Quiet and has great restaurant. Highly recommend the Tet Paul trail especially at Sunset. We did Hot Chocolate tour. Hiked the Gros Piton. Don't be fooled, it's 25% hike and 75% climb. Beautiful once your up there though. Did the market on Saturday morning and picked up bananas, plantains, coconut water, and fish. Really fun to be "in town" and experience the people and culture of St. Lucia Overall, we had a great experience with the people and property and would definitely recommend this to others."

  • Gorgeous!!

"This place is magnificent. I do not have one bad thing to say about the property or the staff on sight. Clavie (the driver) was incredible and helped out so much. He basically knows everyone in town and was able to hook us up with the right people to do personal tours. Terri provided us with fresh ground spices and coffee. Stephanie and her staff made some great meals for us and picked up some groceries for us on her way up so we didn't miss a beat of the beautiful view. Our group went up to Jade Mountain resort for lunch one day and it was spectacular. It's definitely on the pricey side but worth a visit just to see the view and the unusual architecture of the property. Anse Chastanet is a very steep walk down the hill about 10 minutes and Anse Mamin is another 5 minute (flat) walk around the waters edge. The walk up the hill is pretty difficult and should be taken with caution. I'm sure Clavie would be happy to pick you up if you give him enough warning. I did the walk in flip flops but I would not recommend it for elderly or physically unfit individuals. We were also concerned about not having air conditioned in the 90 degree heat, but it really doesn't matter. We all slept soundly as there are ceiling fans and floor fans provided. I highly recommend this property."
