  • Beautiful Orchid

"We rented the Orchid House- just up from the Poinsettia and it was awesome. It has the same layout as the Poinsettia House- 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Kitchen had everything you would want. We did get Smalley to pick us up from the airport and stopped at a bigger grocery store to load up for the week. We ate breakfast and lunch most days in the house and ate dinners out. It is a bit of a hike up to the house(only 5 mins) but good exercise. It is close to everything - tons of restaurants, we went to the Rainforest for Christmas dinner and it was fabulous. Also the Indian place is great across the bay. We bought a weekly pass for the boat- well worth it. And Smalley took us one afternoon to Rodney's Bay- he stopped at the local market, then drove us to the beach, then took us to the Fish Fry - it was so much fun, lots of music, tons of people dancing- I am sure it goes on all night. And we got a driver another day to take us to Sugar Bay- totally beautiful beach - great snorkeling- awesome hotel to have lunch at on the beach. Then we went up to the top and had a drink at another hotel and watched the sunset. And another day we got one of the guys to drive us on their power boat over to a private beach- which was awesome also- great snorkeling also. Elaine was so nice, checked on us a couple of times to make sure we had everything, and she stored our luggage the last day in her place. The people are so friendly. Great spot and would highly recommend. Weather also rocked!"

  • Incredibly Beautiful Home in the Caribbean

"We rented this villa for a three generation family vacation. It was one of the best vacation experiences we ever had. The villa is impeccably cared for and has just about everything one would need. The bedrooms are spacious and immaculate. The main area of the house can accommodate a large crowd, Plenty of seating and lounge chairs by the pool. The pool itself, with the swim-up bar is the best we've seen at a private villa in the Caribbean. Olga and Fidora took care of us and the house. They are not cooks, they are of chef quality. They transformed simple ingredients into delicious meals. Olga prepared breakfast daily, and they made incredible dinners for us to enjoy later on. They both give 110% to make your stay enjoyable. Fidora even arranged to have fresh fish delivered! The house comes with wi-fi so communicating around the world is easy. It came in handy with submitting a college paper! The bedrooms have AC that works great. Very important in July/August. Would recommend getting the AC for the main living area for the hot and humid nights. Getting around the island is best by taxi. They arranged George to pick us up at the airport and we utilized his services all week. When booking the property, I spoke with the owner Sue, who gave us great tips and insight to the island. When on the island I would recommend going zip-lining and take a day trip on Exodus Boat Charters. My only reservation is that we were there for only one week. I would recommend Beau Rivage to anyone."

  • Privacy in British Colonial Paradise

"Cap Pavilion is a lovely island plantation home that has a timeless ambiance. You can easily imagine yourself during the British Colonial period (albeit with modern conveniences) in any of the British colonies. Though a world away, Isak Dineson would have been very comfortable here, and would have found inspiration. The home is sited at the top of a hill and positioned to capture the Tradewinds blowing off the Atlantic, which cool the property making air conditioning unnecessary. The views are beautiful...the Atlantic to the East, the Caribbean Sea to the West, hills covered with dense tropical foliage, and the lights of Rodney Bay at night. As for the grounds, Jurassic Park has nothing on this place. We half-jokingly kept a watch out for raptors, especially at the pool. I am happy to report that we found none...or more importantly...that none found us. Within days, we settled in to the lifestyle....the cats ( Rusty the oldest, Rocket the passive , and Moss the mischievous one) roaming the grounds; the gong announcing breakfast and dinner; cocktails on the terrace or in the sitting room, daily passing rain storms, and daily visits to the pool, which has the feel of a secluded pond in a rain forest. We could not have been more comfortable largely due to the graciousness and humor of Sandrine and Cecil, who anticipated our every need. We were greeted with a rum punch upon our arrival that is the best we have ever had. Sandrine will happily make pitcher after pitcher during your stay. Though the setting and ambiance are lovely, what truly sets Cap Pavilion apart is Sandrine's cooking. She prepares a delicious hardy breakfast, a light lunch (at our request), and a 5 star dinner every night, using spices grown in her kitchen garden. You may select the menu, but keep in mind that her pork ribs, shrimp with rice, and roast boned chicken are standouts. Upon request, she will show you how she bones (or de-bones, if you prefer) a whole chicken using a technique that she has developed. We joined the ranks of former guests who recommended that she write a cookbook, bottle her hot sauce, and bottle her Caribbean marinade. Before making any restaurant reservations, we suggest that you sample Sandrine's cooking, as it is far superior to anything you will find on the island, and some of the best in the Caribbean. We feel fortunate to have discovered Cap Pavilion, and enjoyed the company of Sandrine and Cecil."

  • Best yet!

"My name is Chris Wing. Every December after our Company's last Board meeting we have a family reunion. My wife, her parents, my eldest son and his fiancé, my adult daughter, my toddler son and myself. We have been to VRBOs throughout Hawaii and the Caribbean. The Tamarand Home is the best yet. The views from each of the main bedrooms are unbelievable! Taking breakfast underneath the Tamarand tree on the patio is really spectacular. Our help- Cheryl, Anna and Diddya are friendly, efficient and great cooks. I can't say enough about this place- other than- We will be coming back!!! Hopefully annually. Chris Wing"
