From the beginning to the end of our stay in Trinidad the Richardson’s were the most courteous and hospitable couple that my fiancé and I have ever met. We had a cousin that that arrived in Trinidad hours earlier than we did and Mr. and Mrs. Richardson picked her up from the airport, got something for her to eat, and made her feel comfortable at the house for hours before we got there. Speaking of the house, it was perfect for the group of people staying through Carnival Tuesday (4 guests). I did not expect to have cable or a Wi-Fi while I was there so having both was a plus! The kitchen came in handy for the few days after Carnival. The washer and dryer made me happy because there was no way that I was going to re-pack all of those clothes covered in paint and sweat from the many fetes we attended. You think you don’t need a washer and dryer on vacation but you do! Mrs. Richardson was insistent upon us having enough towels or whatever else we needed during our stay.
I felt very safe on the property and it was comforting having the Richardson’s check on us to make sure everything was going smoothly. We actually enjoyed seeing them so much that every now and then we all would sit and talk on the porch and enjoy each other’s conversation. If you’re lucky Mr. Richardson will introduce you to Carey who lives down the street. She is an amazing caterer and prepared several meals for our crew.
Towards the end of our trip I realized how much more beneficial it was staying in a rented property rather than a hotel. We were able to fully experience Trinidad and could go and come without the hassle of the long lines in a hotels’ parking deck. It was great to come to our own private space after a long day celebrating with tons of people.
I wholeheartedly recommend anyone staying at this property, whether for Carnival or just an adventure in Trinidad. For ten days this place was our home away from home!
