  • Perfection!

"Our family of six had the most wonderful vacation! The description of the house does not do it justice, it was incredible! The house is brand new, beautifully decorated, and had all the desired amenities. Every room has its own bathroom and there is a powder room that can be accessed from both inside the house as well as from the pool area. Everything you would want in your own home can be found in this glorious home. The outdoor area and pool were just as luxurious. The beach is literally a two minute walk from the house, and was much less crowded than other areas of the beach, which was so nice. Brita and Jeff, the managers of Sunset Beach Villas are amazing! They are the nicest people who went out of their way to make every aspect of our vacation perfect! No detail was overlooked. They responded so quickly to our emails and provided us with a US phone number, making contact with them very easy and convenient. We rented a car which made for an easy trip to and from the airport as well as to all of the restaurants and activities. Prior to our arrival, Brita help us arrange for our rental car and made numerous dinner reservations at wonderful restaurants. We can not say enough good things about our vacation!"

  • House needs a refresh

"We just returned from a week stay at Rockspray. The house being located right on the sound is beautiful and we enjoyed the breezes and having the house opened up all week. We found this part of the island to be a bit more industrial than other areas but that wasn't really bothersome. The house itself is beautiful and the layout was perfect for our family of 5. However, the interior of the house is very tired and is ready for a refresh. Things like the kitchen counters which are literally falling apart (they are wood counter tops that are glued together and coming unglued), two microwaves in the kitchen bc apparently the one above the range doesn't work anymore so they left it and put a counter top one in, old light fixtures in the bathrooms from the 80's, bathroom towel racks with rust on them or plastic cheap ones are examples of some of the items. Also, the linens are not nice quality and the couch and throw pillows are pretty soiled from years of use. The rugs could also stand to be swapped out for new ones as they are old and heavily worn. Lastly the house could stand to be repainted inside and all the nails in the walls that no longer have anything hanging on them removed. A little TLC with this house could go a long way since it is such a beautiful property. The alarm system also broke mid week and we couldn't use it which made me uncomfortable since everyone seemed to stress the importance of using it. Overall when I rent a vacation house I expect it to be a well cared for property with the details buttoned up. The photos were a bit deceiving. The house is walking distance to two separate beaches, one of which we couldn't use after our first day there bc they blocked off access to it since it is apparently private. That beach was called Taylor Bay Beach and was such a great beach, it was a shame we couldn't go back to it after that first day. All in all we enjoyed our stay there but feel the finishes should have been much nicer. I would give this house a 3 1/2 star if that were an option but it isn't."

  • Great place for the money.

"I just second what the other reviewer said. Considering the cost of other properties we checked, the price/quality ratio is outstanding, the beach is gorgeous. There is nothing to do in the downtown or anywhere else in the city except for shopping food and beverages and of course you need a car to do that."

  • Paradise in Turks

"We absolutely loved this house. The house, beach and pool were amazing. Taylor beach is the best beach for small kids. Gentle waves and not too deep. We loved the patio and pool and sat out there or in the screened in porch every night. The location on Chalk Sound is excellent. It is a short walk to the beach and an easy drive from the airport. Dinesh and Julian were the best. They made sure we knew everything we needed to about the house and answered any questions we had. They made us feel extremely welcome. Some people mentioned mosquitoes but we only got a bite or two but they did not bother us at all for the most part. We traveled with 2 families (4 adults and 3 small children) and had plenty of room. We were sad to leave and would definitely want to come back."
