Recent USVI/St. Croix reviews

"This was our family's first visit to the USVI (St Croix) and it was fantastic. The weather, the people, the relaxed atmosphere. We loved staying at Pelican Cove Condo's. You could see and hear the surf from the living room and master bed room window/balcony. A few steps out the condo and your at a very large and nice pool. Double those steps but in the other direction and your at the ocean! The gentle breezes kept the condo comfortable the entire stay. The iguanas, free roaming chickens and other wildlife made it real nice. Terry (the owner) did an exceptional job not only in helping with the booking, but details on what to do while on the Island. He even called once during our stay to make sure everything was ship shape. Would highly recommend this property and the USVI as a vacation destination."

  • Excellent House and Personal Touches

"We were debating where to go and where to stay..what a great decision we made as we couldn't be happier with the villa. The house was perfect for 6 adults ( parents and 2 grown children with their respective fiancés') ,had everything on site you could need, and has beautiful views of Salt River Bay, Christiansted, and Northshore. I recommend having provisions ready for your arrival as it was a relief to just relax after a long flight. The house was outside of towns, which was appreciated for quiet evenings enjoying the hot tub and pool. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you're happy here and satisfied with the villa, going so far as to share things to see and do, and calling while there to ensure you are satisfied. We spent days exploring the island and the evenings enjoying the house --cooking outside and sharing a drink or two. Highly recommend this Villa, everything from being greeted at the airport by Mr. Paul, to great weather, to a great house- you will not be disappointed. Make your plans now to stay as you will glad you chose Brimstage Estate. We look forward to returning in 2017!!"

  • Calypso Condo still lives up to its name

"In Greek mythology Calypso was a nymph of exceptional beauty who lived on a hidden island and kept a lover her prisoner for years. Perhaps that's why the Flanagans named their Gentle Winds home "Calypso", a beautiful place where you wouldn't mind being held captive for years. This was the second time that our family (husband, 16-year old, 13-year-old and 9-year old, plus my parents in their mid-70's) was fortunate enough to spend 9 days on St. Croix staying at Calypso Condo. The word "condo" though doesn't do it justice. Calypso becomes your home for the time you are there. Calypso still has every amenity you could possibly desire. Toiletries in the bathroom, novels on the bookshelf, a well-stocked bar and some sunscreen (hats, too) await you upon your arrival so that you can start relaxing without doing that first run to the supermarket upon landing. Furnishings are clean, fresh, comfortable and stylish, loads of local art adorn the brightly-painted walls. We love when the Shack opens its' shutters each day around 11 so the kids can get their fruit daiquiris. Food is always fresh and everyone had a favorite "drink of the day". The Caribbean Sea beckons with its warm, lapping waves and snorkeling right off the beach, but at night the Gentle Winds pool lights are irresistible for that night swim. Its a tough decision to leave Gentle Winds to explore the island but when you do, we recommend Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted, the beach restaurant and activities are a fun way to spend a day. Crab races on the boardwalk in Christiansted was a highlight. Un Amore has fresh Italian specialties that will inspire you to order something from every course with a wine selection to match. One day set your alarm and drive the 40 minutes or so to see the sunrise at Point Udall. The drive on this part of the island is gorgeous in the pre-dawn hours. Lots more recommendations in the Calypso Condo Guest Book. Snag this place if it is available."

  • Had to come back a second time!

"Wholeheartedly recommend Breezy Beach on St Croix, and simply cannot express how easy and what a great location, the house, and working with Lee and his on island manage,r Pam, is. Two Thanksgiving's in a row now, 10 days stay both times, each being very special, shared with our adult children. The house has always been neat and clean, with all the amenities you need to get away from the other tourist centers and resorts on island. A hidden gem and best kept secret on St Croix; don't miss it!"
