  • Great base for exploring St. Croix.

"Carden Beach is one of the nicer condo complexes on St. Croix. This unit had plenty of room for our family of five (including two adult children and a teen). The photos on the website are accurate, except that the owner now has a larger TV installed in the living room than what is pictured. The owner is easy to work with and the property manager works at the complex during the week and is very accessible. She met us upon arrival and provided a very good orientation to the condo and to the island. We especially enjoyed the well maintained tennis court. We played three times during the week. The pool is also nice and was never crowded. We liked the East End location. It's quiet, but there are several close restaurants and it's a pretty easy trip into Christiansted. If we returned to St Croix, we would stay here again."

  • Nicely renovated condo, great location

"We just got back from a week at On The Rocks in Cane Bay. It's a great location and a really nicely renovated condo. We did the shore dive in Cane Bay several times and did the Frederiksted pier both at night and during the day (with N2 The Blue). The condo is ideally located to get to anywhere on the island, and the restaurants nearby were wonderful. We would definitely return and stay here again. We liked that it was an end unit and enjoyed relaxing in the pool area and watching the sun set. Unfortunately the waves were too big for us to check out the snorkeling right off the condo, but Cane Bay just around the corner was pretty flat even if the surf was rolling into the rocks at the condo. The reason for four stars rather than 5 is that the three bottom floor condos beneath us were under renovation, so there was construction noise during the day, and we were without power and water for an afternoon. It wasn't a big deal for us since we were out and about, but if we had wanted to come back and take a nap it would have been an issue. In addition the washer and dryer were out of commission due to the construction. Once the construction is complete, this will absolutely be a 5 star property."

  • Awesome trip at a great location with the family

"Family of 4 Spring Break first time to St. Croix Pros: Theatre at the Beach (2) Number 208 is wonderful and the owner Leslie is a very interested owner. The remodeling she oversaw is awesome. Kitchen is very useable and bathrooms are what you want in your own home. Furniture is comfortable. There were no loud boisterous parties in other units. We went April 2017 and it was not very busy which we liked. At most we had us and 3 other couples/families on the beach at any one time, often we were the only ones on the beach. 2 Restaurants are walking distance which was nice. Grounds are well kept and check in and check out were easy. Lots of reasonable snorkeling off of our beach and location near Christiansted (3 miles) was nice. Does require transportation to get there though. Cons: We had a small problem which was rectified. We booked this several months in advance. It's advertised on VRBO, but the condo management does the reservations. VRBO and Leslie confirmed our reservation. When the management confirms the reservation they however do not put the unit number on the confirmation they send you. We were initially put in a unit that I did not want when I had reviewed Sugar Beach initially on line. The day we reached St. Croix there was nothing we could do and in fact someone else was in unit 208. We decided that there was a communication issue and we were willing (really no choice) to accept it as our fault. At the same time we were confused that VRBO and Leslie had confirmed the stay. We reached out to Leslie and VRBO the day of our arrival. We aren't sure what happened but the next morning the manager came to our door and said Unit 208 would be available at 11 AM. We had not done a ton of unpacking. So we moved our stuff. When the family saw 208 they quickly understood why their husband/father had been fairly upset with the situation. Leslie's unit is simply just more updated. One last issue with unit 208 is the screen doors. The salt water air takes it toll on things. Leslie is in the process of replacing the main one which will be very good. If we hadn't had a good wind bugs / mosquitoes would have been an issue even if we had used the AC and closed everything off. The door no longer closes completely. The weather cooperated and we stopped using the AC after the first day. So we do recommend this for families but do insist on management confirming the unit on their emails once you have made the res"

  • Wonderful Place to Be!

"This is a lovely condo situated in Gallows Bay within walking distance to the town of Christiansted. We found it to be a wonderful home base for exploring St Croix. A ten minute walk from condo gets you to the boardwalk where you can find a variety of restaurants, shops, snorkeling/scuba and sunset cruises to enjoy. Also, at the entrance to the condo are two restaurants both serving great food and service. The pool was a great meeting place where we met residents and fellow travelers which were all pleasant and very accommodating on things to do and see. Steve was very tentative to our needs during our one month stay. A simple text to him got an immediate response to take care of any questions that we had. He was willing to share information about places he had been to which he thought we might enjoy. Looking forward to staying here again. Tony & Anne"
