  • An aging beauty with a great on site host!

"Villa Larimar is situated on a hill overlooking Cane Bay at the west end of St. Croix. When the weather is clear one can see St. Thomas, St. John and several other islands from the pool terrace. Whoever owns the property would do well to re-invest a portion of the rental revenues in sprucing up and updating this nearly 50 year old award winning villa. The house is comfortable and has "good bones" but needs some effort to be all that it can be....personal opinion the updates would pay for themselves within a reasonable time frame by commanding an increase in rental revenue. To clarify: new paint, some furniture updates, a/c in more areas; remodel/enlarge the kitchen to name a few. The real jewel in #4 Betsy's Jewel was Michael Hartlage, the on site caretaker. He is a wealth of local history as well as recommendations of what to do, where to eat, points of interest, etc. He is also a really nice guy. This was our second time renting this property and he is the reason we came back."

  • Beautiful condo, great location!

"This was our first trip to St. Croix and loved this condo! The condo is located in a convenient area on the island. Very quick and easy drive to Christiansted. But also easy to travel to both ends of the island, from Point Udall to Fredericksted! The condo had everything we needed, including snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels, and even little extras (such as band-aids and sunburn relief spray and lots of hangers in the closets!). The bedrooms have AC units, which we used only at night to sleep comfortably. The unit gets an incredible breeze throughout the day that cools the condo down. We used the washer and dryer everyday. The unit was clean and very comfortable. The property has a gate with 24-hr security on site. The pool was enjoyable, clean, and just steps away from this unit. The beach is relaxing out front, we snorkeled the tire reef and enjoyed the incredible fish, and the evening views of Christiansted are just as pleasant. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions as we were booking to stay. They also helped guide us with some ideas for things to do on the island. They were very easy to work with! For those considering a trip, a few must To-Do items: Go to Buck Island (we used Caribbean Sea Adventures Sailing trip and had a great experience), Kayak the Bioluminescent Bay (Bush Tribe Eco Adventures did a great job), feed the beer-drinking pigs in the rain forest, visit Rainbow Beach, Hike to the Tide Pools of Analy (if the hike is too strenuous for some people in your group, consider a ride by Jeep, we saw Tan-Tan Tours out there), eat at 40-Strand, Breakfast at Toast, find La Reine Chicken Shack for a favorite local eats, and shop in Christiansted (Sonya's for Cruzan Hook bracelet)! We would stay in this condo again! Great location, great price, great owners! Thank you for sharing your home on the island!"

  • Wonderful location with all the amenities!

"We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and we could not be more pleased with our decision to stay at the "theatre on the beach". Leslie has thought of everything at this unit and when you are here it is true paradise. Unit was very clean, and the view, did I mention the view! I would highly recommend Leslie's place to anyone looking for the perfect spot on the water. Thank you Leslie."

  • 5 Stars -- Everything and more !!!

"Owner was very prompt in responding to all inquiries. Good communications on all aspects of making, confirming reservations, arrival instructions, greeting, and return of security deposit. You might not get the impression from the photos, but the cottage is the only home on Elizabeth Point. The privacy and seclusion of the Southside was exactly what we were looking for. While it is secluded, there was good security (a locked security gate at the driveway, deadbolt, and digital lock on the doors (for added peace of mind). The cottage was absolutely everything that was described and more. No photos can do justice to the absolute wonderful 270 degree ocean views. There was a constant breeze that made indoor and outdoor living completely comfortable without turning on the A/C except for sleeping. The cottage is impeccably appointed with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. The pool is small, but with built in steps and seating (and absolute gorgeous views), we found it to be perfect for cooling off, enjoying the views, or just relaxing after a busy day. We were here for a week of retirement house hunting. We enjoyed the location and views so much that we changed our area of consideration from East End and North Side to this area. We had no issues with mosquitoes, mice, or any other critters (mentioned in another review)."
