  • Satisfied..

"Nice 2 bedroom condominium. Air conditioning in both bedrooms. Condo grounds and pool area well maintained. Having the use of the Explorer was a plus. Condo close to King Harbor where there are resturants, shopping, entertainment and several places for water activities like fishing, diving and excursions."

  • Calypso Condo still lives up to its name

"In Greek mythology Calypso was a nymph of exceptional beauty who lived on a hidden island and kept a lover her prisoner for years. Perhaps that's why the Flanagans named their Gentle Winds home "Calypso", a beautiful place where you wouldn't mind being held captive for years. This was the second time that our family (husband, 16-year old, 13-year-old and 9-year old, plus my parents in their mid-70's) was fortunate enough to spend 9 days on St. Croix staying at Calypso Condo. The word "condo" though doesn't do it justice. Calypso becomes your home for the time you are there. Calypso still has every amenity you could possibly desire. Toiletries in the bathroom, novels on the bookshelf, a well-stocked bar and some sunscreen (hats, too) await you upon your arrival so that you can start relaxing without doing that first run to the supermarket upon landing. Furnishings are clean, fresh, comfortable and stylish, loads of local art adorn the brightly-painted walls. We love when the Shack opens its' shutters each day around 11 so the kids can get their fruit daiquiris. Food is always fresh and everyone had a favorite "drink of the day". The Caribbean Sea beckons with its warm, lapping waves and snorkeling right off the beach, but at night the Gentle Winds pool lights are irresistible for that night swim. Its a tough decision to leave Gentle Winds to explore the island but when you do, we recommend Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted, the beach restaurant and activities are a fun way to spend a day. Crab races on the boardwalk in Christiansted was a highlight. Un Amore has fresh Italian specialties that will inspire you to order something from every course with a wine selection to match. One day set your alarm and drive the 40 minutes or so to see the sunrise at Point Udall. The drive on this part of the island is gorgeous in the pre-dawn hours. Lots more recommendations in the Calypso Condo Guest Book. Snag this place if it is available."

  • The property is clean, bright and has everything you might think you need for your vacation.

"We came to St. Croix for a wedding and might not have ever visited the island otherwise. I also used VRBO to book the unit, which was also my first time using. The property looks exactly like the pictures. Our stay there was very quiet and peaceful - we loved that we could relax and enjoy the water and the sun right outside the condo. The condo is well cared for, no bugs and very clean. We stayed in and cooked for most of our trip and the only suggestion I have is a fan in the kitchen area to circulate while cooking. It was very humid for our trip, came right as hurricane Matthew just passed through the Bahamas, but the ocean breeze was lovely and we kept the back door and front door open until we went to bed. The condo is a great location and very secure. We spent many nights outside and the security attendant makes regular walks. The condos are also in a gated community with code only access. You definitely can't go wrong with staying at Colony Cove and if I ever come back I will book this condo again. The owners are very nice and made sure our stay was comfortable. Sincerely, Kim C."

  • 5 Stars -- Everything and more !!!

"Owner was very prompt in responding to all inquiries. Good communications on all aspects of making, confirming reservations, arrival instructions, greeting, and return of security deposit. You might not get the impression from the photos, but the cottage is the only home on Elizabeth Point. The privacy and seclusion of the Southside was exactly what we were looking for. While it is secluded, there was good security (a locked security gate at the driveway, deadbolt, and digital lock on the doors (for added peace of mind). The cottage was absolutely everything that was described and more. No photos can do justice to the absolute wonderful 270 degree ocean views. There was a constant breeze that made indoor and outdoor living completely comfortable without turning on the A/C except for sleeping. The cottage is impeccably appointed with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. The pool is small, but with built in steps and seating (and absolute gorgeous views), we found it to be perfect for cooling off, enjoying the views, or just relaxing after a busy day. We were here for a week of retirement house hunting. We enjoyed the location and views so much that we changed our area of consideration from East End and North Side to this area. We had no issues with mosquitoes, mice, or any other critters (mentioned in another review)."
