  • Will EXCEED Your Expectations

"Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us and our friends. It is beautiful and was the perfect villa for 4 couples. My husband and I traveled with 3 other couples for a week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Three couples stayed in the main house which offered them each a private room with a king bed and private bath. The main level allowed the group to hang out together, cook meals, party and chat. My husband and I stayed in the cute little house behind the main villa. It was so nice to have our own space for the week. The cool breeze at night allowed you to keep your windows open and sleep like a rock. Our friends that stayed in the Mango room said they have never slept better in the whole lives. All four bedrooms offer a view. The kitchen is spacious and completlely stocked with everything you need. We had a private chef cook for us the night of our vow renewal on Trunk Bay Beach and he only had to bring the food and ice. Plenty of serving dishes, plates, utensils, etc. I did bring table decorations and left them behind for the next group. The library has tons of reference books to help you navigate the islands and we enjoyed the photo album of the house being built. The driveway was large enough for 3 four door jeeps and the owners SUV. The location was perfect to travel back to Cruz Bay or down to Coral Bay and the other beaches. As for beach equipment there are coolers, chairs and noodles. Each room came with 2 beach towels and plenty of bath towels. I could go on and on forever. We had a wonderful week and would come back to Drake’s View. It was like heaven on earth."

"The week was a coming together of three couples - longtime friends who get together far less than we would like. What a great week of sharing stories and exploring the island. St John is fantastic and Coral Bay Outlook was the perfect place for this to happen. Coral Bay Outlook provided all that was advertised and then some. And the views from the porch were fantastic! The setting is quiet, relaxing, and the town of Coral Bay was very laid back. The house was well equipped and also offered some nice extras - like numerous guidebooks, information about local services, beach chairs, coolers, etc. Each day we would head off to explore a new beach (or trail) and each night we would share our discoveries over a glass of VI rum. I loved Salt Pond Bay for snorkeling and walking the shore line of nearby Trunk Bay, just because it was so different. Oh, by the way, there is no need to set the alarm to see the fantastic sunrises over the bay - the roosters roaming the village made sure you were awake! I would highly recommend Coral Bay Outlook to anyone wanting to visit and explore St. John."

  • Great Location!

"This house was fantastic! The pool was by far one of our favorite things about this place - perfect for cooling off in the afternoons. We can't say too much about the inside since we spent most of our time on the screened in porch enjoying the view of the bay but the beds in both the loft and downstairs were both very comfortable. Everything was clean, well stocked and just perfect! The bonus was the condiments we found in the fridge - made cooking on the grill just like being at home. There are many beaches just a 10-15 minute drive from this house and once you master the driveway you are good to go! Aqua Bistro and the marketplace down the hill were super-convenient and the locals are extremely friendly and fun to talk to. The property management company that takes care of this place is also excellent. We would recommend staying here to anyone and are already thinking about returning next year!!! Did NOT want to come home! Great change of pace from very busy Cruz Bay!"

  • A nice family getaway

"My husband, my daughter, and I stayed in Tree Frog for a week. Pros: The owner and property manager were helpful and easy to communicate with, and the property was as described in the listing. Furnishings are nice and in good shape, attractive decor and good layout. We specifically wanted a place with an indoor vs outdoor staircase since we were traveling with a child- didn't want her traipsing around outside without us if we slept on different floors, and it was perfect. Downstairs bedroom is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. There are lots of beach supplies available for renters to use: several Tommy Bahama beach chairs (the best kind!), coolers, sand toys, etc. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals and cocktails. There were also plenty of extra towels and linens if we needed them, also well-stocked toilet paper and paper towels as well as some bathroom items. We appreciated that some of the pantry and toiletry items are left behind from other guests, like condiments, extra sunblock, bug spray, etc. (We've stayed at places where there was NOTHING!) Lots of privacy- no visible neighbors, no noise other than the sounds of nature. Nice view from upstairs balcony- it was cool to watch the birds during the day and especially cool to watch the bats at dusk. Cons: the drive really is rough. It is not for the inexperienced USVI driver. We didn't mind too much because we planned on eating dinner at the cottage every night anyway, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone who plans to eat/drink out then return after dark. We did use the AC downstairs in the bedroom every night... we did not find that the breezes cooled the place enough for the July heat. The patio door opening upstairs lacks a screen, so with it open, the breezes come in, but so do the mosquitoes. Our daughter ended up sleeping downstairs too. There is an AC unit upstairs too, but it didn't seem to do the trick just to cool the place at night. The bathroom was damp and hot 24/7, which came with a gross smell. The towels all smelled a little mildewy. We visit St. John a lot and so we've come to expect these things (you will find the same if not worse at other villas in this price range- TRUST ME!); I only mention it for those who are unfamiliar with St. John rentals. I've heard it's cooler and the AC is not needed at other times of the year, but we've found we need it when we come in late June or July. We enjoyed our trip, and staying at Tree Frog was a good experience."
