  • Second visit to Sea Cottage

"This was our second visit to the Sea Cottage and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Monika and Jorge are such warm and friendly people. We were celebrating our third anniversary, and when we arrived we were so suprised to find a welcome note with a bottle of chilled champagne in the fridge! Since our last visit, they built their villa which is situated just below the Sea Cottage but because of the thick jungle, we never saw or heard them the entire time. We did bump into them a few times on our drive in or out and they were always made sure to ask if there was anything we needed. We had a power outage on the island one evening and Monika was quick to text us to let us know what was going on. We spent most of our time exploring St John's beautiful beaches, trying out some of the local eateries that we missed on our last visit, and hanging out at Aqua Bistro for drinks after a long day in the sun. We even got the chance to swim out to "Angels Rest Floating Bar" across from Vie's snack shack in Hanson Bay one afternoon. If you are looking for a romantic, secluded cottage for your next visit to St John you will fall in LOVE with this place. We will not hesitate to book our third trip here!!!"

  • Picture Perfect Views!

"We had a great time of rest and relaxation at Island Dreams on St John. The views from the decks are as stunning as they appear in the pictures. It was always very breezy when sitting on the deck facing Coral Bay, but in the heat of the day, it was welcomed. The kitchen was great and we chose to eat out only a handful of times during our stay as we enjoyed using the well stocked kitchen and grill outside. We found a nice little grocery store just 5 minutes away in Coral Bay - Dolphin Grocery Store. Once we got accustomed to the island pricing, we pretty much found all we needed and more at that store. In my opinion, the jeep is a must, unless you are already used to the roads in St John. Having the private pool was great to cool off after a hike or sitting in the sun. The hosts provide beach chairs, coolers and a great selection of paperback books to use for your beach trips, which we found very useful. Although we came to relax and unplug, it was nice to have good internet connection to check in occasionally and take care of business when necessary. Would definitely recommend this property to any couple looking for a quiet beach vacation."

  • Amazing views of Coral Bay!

"We have stayed at Flander's Villa before and returned with friends. The house has awesome views of Coral Bay and the winds hardly ever stop. This keeps the house and porches quite comfortable. The a/c in the bedrooms ensure a good nights sleep. We especially love the upstairs master bedroom with outdoor shower. The lower level has three large bedrooms that all have separate entrances and bathrooms. There are very nice gates at the stairs on each level to keep little ones secure. We brought along plastic gate locks to loop through the gate so that the little ones could not get onto the pool deck unattended. The house is large enough to hold two families with space for everyone to spread out. The pool was used quite a bit by the three children that were along. The kitchen is well appointed and the grill makes dinners in very easy. The location to many gorgeous beaches, restaurants and groceries is top notch. Mark, the property manager, is always easy to contact and great to work with. We love this place and would highly recommend it!"

  • A nice family getaway

"My husband, my daughter, and I stayed in Tree Frog for a week. Pros: The owner and property manager were helpful and easy to communicate with, and the property was as described in the listing. Furnishings are nice and in good shape, attractive decor and good layout. We specifically wanted a place with an indoor vs outdoor staircase since we were traveling with a child- didn't want her traipsing around outside without us if we slept on different floors, and it was perfect. Downstairs bedroom is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. There are lots of beach supplies available for renters to use: several Tommy Bahama beach chairs (the best kind!), coolers, sand toys, etc. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals and cocktails. There were also plenty of extra towels and linens if we needed them, also well-stocked toilet paper and paper towels as well as some bathroom items. We appreciated that some of the pantry and toiletry items are left behind from other guests, like condiments, extra sunblock, bug spray, etc. (We've stayed at places where there was NOTHING!) Lots of privacy- no visible neighbors, no noise other than the sounds of nature. Nice view from upstairs balcony- it was cool to watch the birds during the day and especially cool to watch the bats at dusk. Cons: the drive really is rough. It is not for the inexperienced USVI driver. We didn't mind too much because we planned on eating dinner at the cottage every night anyway, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone who plans to eat/drink out then return after dark. We did use the AC downstairs in the bedroom every night... we did not find that the breezes cooled the place enough for the July heat. The patio door opening upstairs lacks a screen, so with it open, the breezes come in, but so do the mosquitoes. Our daughter ended up sleeping downstairs too. There is an AC unit upstairs too, but it didn't seem to do the trick just to cool the place at night. The bathroom was damp and hot 24/7, which came with a gross smell. The towels all smelled a little mildewy. We visit St. John a lot and so we've come to expect these things (you will find the same if not worse at other villas in this price range- TRUST ME!); I only mention it for those who are unfamiliar with St. John rentals. I've heard it's cooler and the AC is not needed at other times of the year, but we've found we need it when we come in late June or July. We enjoyed our trip, and staying at Tree Frog was a good experience."
