  • Lovely Island Cottage

"My boyfriend and I visit St John fairly often, and we don't think of the island as a luxury destination - what keeps drawing us back is the simplicity of island life. We enjoy having a place to call home while we're there, and home is exactly what Molly's Cottage felt like when we stayed there last month. Cozy and tastefully decorated, with a great new open concept kitchen. We loved the large screened doors which let in the sunlight, cool breezes, and beautiful views (while keeping out the bugs!). Close to town without being right in it, and convenient to every part of the island. (Definitely recommend renting a jeep to get around and explore this amazing island!). Dining options on St John are excellent, but it was nice to enjoy some dinners at the cottage, too. There are several markets in town, so it's easy to stop and pick up whatever you need on your way back from the beach. The deck overlooking Chocolate Hole Bay is great - we ate breakfast there every morning, and it was the perfect place to relax with a cocktail or a glass of wine after days filled with hiking, paddle boarding, and beach bumming (be sure to use bug spray in the late afternoon/early evening when the no see ums and mosquitoes are fierce!). Being able to walk to the beach was fun - Chocolate Hole isn't the most spectacular beach on the island, but it was so nice to have it right there. Nice strolls in the morning and before dinner, and we did spend one very pleasant afternoon there swimming and beachcombing. The lack of AC was not a problem thanks to the breezes and fans (who wants to listen to a noisy window AC unit anyway - or sleep with the windows closed - when you can be lulled to sleep by the sound of tree frogs, crickets, birds, and waves?!). Having a washer and dryer was convenient. We mostly used the clothes line for drying - those breezes dry laundry in no time! There is good internet connection at the cottage, too. The owner is a pleasure to communicate with, quick to respond to emails and answer questions. We would definitely rent Molly's Cottage again. And we would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, laid back island experience."

  • Bougainvillea was Wonderful

"The Bougainvillea was everything the website said. Spacious, clean with all the amenities of home. Loved having coffee on the balcony every morning and watching the boats. Best part was being able to walk to the restaurants and bars each night so we didn't have to worry about parking or a designated driver. We will be back!"

  • A hidden gem on St John!!

"This home is the best place to stay on St John! I almost hate to spread the word so we can keep it as our own little secret. We have been vacationing on St john for over a decade. We have stayed in many homes and know the island well. This is home is a hidden gem. The pictures dont do it justice. You get everything you want, and for a fair price. It does not have a pool but we are here for the beaches anyway!!!..the hot tub is far better to have, and this home has a extra large one! Everything is very clean, safe and works!! (hard to find!) The wireless didn't go out once!! (if you are not familiar, it happens often on islands) It is nicely furnished and very comfortable. The BBQ is big, on the newer side, and very clean. The views are spectacular, the porch is huge and the breezes are perfect (no bugs thanks to the breeze....awesome!!) The hot tub is a spectacular way to unwind after a long day...and watch the gorgeous sunsets with a glass of wine :) The "outside" shower is awesome, main floor bathroom is big enough for two or more people at the same time, and it is so nice to have your own washer and dryer! You can cab to town easily from this location for those "nights on the town". It also has a bedroom/bath on the main floor for those that dont like stairs. Honestly, you can't get better. We can't wait to come back again. Thank you Pete!"

  • A taste of real living on St John

"In March 2016 my husband and I spent a week on St Thomas, and visited St John for a day. That day trip was the best day of the week....I fell in LOVE with St John. So we booked the week after Xmas 2016 for a week on St John. We really had no idea what to expect for the lodging, and honestly were a bit disappointed there was no "view" but the price was right and Trevor was great to work with as we set up our reservations. It was a GREAT week, and not only do I love St John even more than I did, and would move there if I could, but the uniqueness and authenticity of where we stayed was beautiful. We were not in a resort, and not with a bunch of other "tourists"....but with real people who live on the island. The drive in was quite daunting, (wow what a driveway) and things could be updated a bit, but I loved the experience in Peaceful Cottages. The price is more than great, for not only the lodging but for the car rental as well. We were able to go all over the island and enjoy every second. I was thrilled to hear the sounds of nature every night and morning. Trevor was so helpful and accommodating. My 11 year old daughter adored Jackie the dog...and I am surprised she didn't try to take him along with us home. Having the outdoor kitchen was such a lovely experience, and nice to have the accommodations to eat in if we wished. The bed was very comfortable...we slept well and sound...especially after our active days. I highly suggest eating at Morgan's Mango...and desserts at the Ocean Grill are out of this world. Snorkeling at Waterlemon Cay is a MUST...especially at the small beach after you hike in. And our favorite beach is Cinnamon Bay. :) Thank you Trevor for the wonderful trip, and memories we will cherish! We have already referred your place to others considering an island visit."
