  • Paradise!

"Wonderful resort and can't wait to stay there again. The staff was terrific. The condo was more then we expected. The view especially with two balconies to choose from was beautiful. The resort is continuing to be developed and they are adding a new pool area so it is only going to get better."

  • Nice and private jungle retreat

"My partner and I had a very relaxing time at Hummingbird! This house is a private jungle retreat with a beautiful view! The house itself is very quirky and there are some very nice handmade wooden touches. One whole side of the house is basically screens, so there is a really nice breeze and no need for AC. The deck is really nice, and we cooked our own meals on the grill every day. The outdoor shower is neat with sea shells in the floor! We were about a 20 minute drive from most beaches. A few things to be aware of: As others mentioned and as shown in the photos, the steps down to the front entrance and also the steps inside up to the bedroom are really precarious. The mattress was very springy and we found it difficult to sleep on. Bring bug spray! There are mosquitoes everywhere (as there are everywhere else on St. John). The house has screens, so the bugs don't get in, but the bathroom is outside. There is no lock on the door. Being from New York, this made us a bit worried, but it seems like a totally safe place. We also rented a car from Rosemary's daughter (Jessica) at Sunshine Jeep, which we were very happy with. Jessica met us at the ferry dock with the rental car when we arrived, and she showed us the way to the house. Overall, this place was great and absolutely beats staying in a resort."

  • Perfect Location on an Amazing Beach

"First off, the trip couldn't have been more fun and the condo was in great condition and was just as it was described. Mihaela was very responsive to any questions we had while we were there and quickly responded to any text I sent her. I think the corner condo location was the best location of any condo on the property. We had so many people walk by and say how jealous they were of the hammock on the patio. The only slight downside is the rundown pool house in front. However, the pool itself was very nice. To the right off the patio, you can walk out and see a beautiful sunrise and then to your left during the day go snorkeling in crystal clear water. Theres a little outdoor bar just down the beach that is open in the afternoon and is nice place to hangout and relax. The close proximity to the town of Red Hook is very ideal. The ferry is right there and I strongly recommend at least one trip across to St. Johns. For places to eat, I recommend Tap & Still if you are looking for delicious burgers, Fish Tails if you want a nice dinner, and Duffy's Love Shack on Wednesday nights if you want to dance. If you are looking to snorkel, Sapphire is beautiful. If you want to check out other beaches, Coki beach is nearby and has an abundance of fish. My favorite beach was a short 10 minute ferry ride across to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. It is a very relaxed small beach and if you swim around for a short time and you will certainly see multiple Sea turtles. Overall, this was a great place to stay and a great place to visit. I definitely did not want to leave."

  • Plenty of room for everyone

"My husband and I have stayed at Point Pleasant in the past but wanted to experience the hill top units. There are wonderful views and it's quieter than being down in the lower units. The hilltop pool is nice and private and has good late day sun. Our college age son was traveling with us this trip so having the extra bedroom was a plus along with 2 bathrooms. The condo is very spacious and has plenty of amenities including towels, kitchen items and dry pantry goods. Some people don't care for the steepness of the resort but personally we don't mind. It's good daily exercise walking up and down to pools and restaurants. We love the nature trails throughout the property as well. The location of Point Pleasant makes it easy to walk over to Margaritaville and Coki Beach for a change of scenery. You can even swim around the break wall and hang on Sugar Bay Resort beach as well. There is really good snorkeling at Sugar Beach at the resort as well although the wind was strong which made the water pretty rough this trip but in the past it's been very good."
