  • Great Anniversary Vacation on St John

"We just returned from a fabulous 9 day stay on St John. We've been there twice before and had different accommodations each time. Although they all had great features Larimar had the best combination not the least of which was it's proximity to Cruz Bay. The other condos we stayed at you had to drive to town, which is tricking after visiting some of the wonderful bars and restaurants. From Larimar It was an easy walk to town as it was all down hill. The walk back is a little more difficult as you have to climb a moderate hill. Actually it was great exercise! The condo itself was very nice although slightly over kill for just 2 people. The entire unit was very clean and comfortable, especially the master bed. There were plenty of bath towels (I preferred to air dry) and beach towels (again I air dried) along with great beach chairs. Having coolers was also a huge benefit for the beach. The only minor fault I could find was that the kitchen was small and the refrigerator looked like it should be replaced, although it worked fine. The other thing is that it only had a small George Forman grill on the deck, not the gas grill shown in the pictures. We don't like air conditioners so that wasn't an issue, the ceiling and floor fans kept us cool enough and kept the tiny bugs away. Don't plan on sleeping in as the roosters, peacock and morning doves start making a major racket beginning around 4:30am every morning, actually we experienced those natural noises at the other condos too. It's just part of the experience. Oh yeah, then there was the two construction projects going on at either end of the street that began at 6:45am everyday... can't blame the owners for any of that. When all is said and done, I would highly recommend this place and will definitely considerate for our next visit. Oh yes, Steve was a great guy and a big help and always available if needed. Oh before I forget, someone said it's an easy walk to Solomon/Honeymoon Beach, NOT SO! If you start at the beginning of the trail it's a 30 minute walk and another 15 minutes from the condo. I'm in very good shape but to me the hike isn't worth it. Go to Trunk Bay or Cinnamon Bay those are by far the best beaches. Ok now I'm done."

  • Beautiful home over looking the water

"We so enjoyed staying at your beautiful home. Really loved the level parking area. The home itself was really clean. We had iguana visiting us everyday which was really neat. Got some really great pictures of them and the beautiful clear water below. Even saw a shark. Loved being over the water. And having the little grocery store and a place to rent snorkel gear just a minute down the road. Skinny Legs and Shipwreck Landing restaurants were great and right there by the house. We did a lot of grilling at the house and enjoyed eating on the deck watching the sunset. I particularly enjoyed the sunrises every morning between 5 and 530 sitting outside or laying in the hammock watching the day come in. We went out on a snorkel sunset sail with Kiote sails. (Right here in Coral Bay by Skinny Legs). That was such a great time. After that Jimmy the captain would sound his horn every time he would go out again and give us a wave. Enjoyed Maho Beach a lot (great beach for seeing the Sea Turtles) and also visited Little Lamshure Bay and Salt Pond (brought back our own natural sea salt to cook with) plus went out on the Kekoa Catamaran in Cruz Bay. Enjoyed everything! Thanks again so much for opening up your home for us to enjoy. Absolutely enjoyed and so glad we chose Cliffhanger as our vacation spot. Its location is ideal for peace and quiet but within minutes of things you need. One thing worth mentioning. Rent a Jeep on St John if you really want to enjoy seeing the island. You will need it for the steep hills and sharp curves."

  • Spotless, modern villa just up the hill from main Westin hotel

"I spent 3 nights at this villa as a solo traveler and was very pleased with my experience. The villa is in brand new condition with a loft bedroom, nice shower and bathrooms upstairs and down. Beautiful ocean view from the private balcony, and a pool just around the corner. The villas are up a steep hill from the main hotel, but it's a 10 minute walk if you're feeling like some exercise. Otherwise you can call the hotel and a golf cart picks you up within minutes, for the ride down to the main hotel, for a tip. Also, taxis would come pick me up from the villa and take me into town for $5 plus tip. Since there are so many taxis in the Cruz Bay Area, I did not need to rent a car. The beach at the Westin is just incredible, with soft sand and spectacular water, which is was the clearest I have ever seen. There's a bar and restaurant steps from the beach, or the servers will wait on you right from your beach chair. Main hotel also has two complimentary computers in the lobby along with a printer, which was also very helpful. Got some rain for a few hours the first day, but otherwise weather was fantastic. All in all a great experience, and Michael was very helpful and accessible as an owner. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Our second year in a row at Miles Away !

"My wife and I returned to Miles Away for the second year in a row the first week of May. The House is exactly as advertised in fact id say it is actually better in person than it looks in the pictures. The house is well equipped with everything we needed, Washer, Dryer, Ninja blender, 2 coffee makers, plenty of silverware/ plates/ glasses etc. The Refrigerator has an awesome ice maker that really comes in handy for making frozen drinks to take to the beach like we did everyday. The Master Bedroom is big with a very nice 4 poster bed that is very comfortable. Very nice stone shower in master bath and plenty of nice (and large) bath and beach towels. The house has full A/C which is nice when you get home from the hot beach days, of course we also took great advantage of the nice pool outside. The house is at the end of a residential road so it is very private. The pool itself is bordered by a beautiful stone wall with flowers surrounding the top of it. We appreciated small things like the many outlets in key places for charging phones/ ipads etc....we've stayed in houses where this it not the case and it can be annoying. The cable and Wi-Fi at Miles away work very well which is not always the case on St John The house has nice flat screen TVs in the main room and master bedroom). Besides the house itself we have had the pleasure the last 2 years of dealing with Mark Miller who is the owners Property Manager. He could not have made the process any easier. Not only were we able to leave our things at the house early in the day prior to check in time but we were also given an awesome welcome basket from Sam and Jack's deli, which is a very nice place on the island. As return guests we certainly didn't expect to get another one this year. Mark was always quick to respond to any questions we may have had during our visit. Overall I would highly recommend Miles Away to anyone looking for a very nice villa in a great location at a reasonable price. I was actually a little hesitant to write this because I selfishly don't want it to become too popular!"
