  • Cozy Magic Treehouse

"After some issue with which of the two properties we were staying in, we ended up in Just Enough. The views are amazing, you can even gaze at Coral Bay from the comfort of the shower. The floors in the house are gorgeous, I would love them in my own home. Comfortable bed, great airflow so you do not miss A/C at all. The decks are both great, fun to sit out and watch the little birds eating sugar and lizards in the treetops. Coral bay is close by and there are great places to eat there if you don't feel like using the kitchen or the grill. (we put both to good use) Once you get the roads down, nothing is hard to get to on St. John. The house was a good fit for our little family of 3. While the property itself is great and we do tell everyone that it was a great place to stay, the on-island manager was a little disappointment. She emailed us as we were leaving to tell us the original house we were supposed to stay in of the two properties, we would not be in and she was putting us in Just enough. (the two properties are right next to each other) Instead of meeting us to get us in the property, she sent a "friend", and she also had that "friend" give us his car for the first two days because she double booked the car we rented from her, but chose to tell us it was being repaired. (we saw the people who were in the other cottage using it so we knew it wasn't being repaired it was there when they were and we saw them drive it and they left the keys in it for us when they left.) The "friend" had his own opinions on her and shared them, but he was super helpful anytime we talked to him. We also had an issue the night before we left with the lock box and being as she is nearly impossible to get a hold of, it was a really stressful last night of the vacation waiting on her to make an effort to contact us back. I think, but I can't be sure, but we might have seen the property manager once, but it also might have been the cleaning lady for the other cottage. Also we were there for 9 nights and a refresh of towels would have been nice, they tend to get stinky. All in all the property itself is great, and if you do not need the manager or you have the patience, its a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it for a rather relaxing stay."

  • Fantastic, lovely first trip to St. John

"We could not have asked to stay at a more beautiful cottage in St. John. Our hostess lovingly attended to our needs, provided excellent suggestions on where to visit, shop, and eat while staying there. You wont regret your stay with Catherine. We have been many places, but will not forget our stay at the cottage, and the lovely trip to St. John."

  • Outstanding property

"My wife and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon, and it exceeded our expectations. The pictures don't do the view justice, it is absolutely stunning and didn't lose any of it's impact as the week went on. The amenities were also impressive for being on the top of a hill in an isolated Caribbean paradise: solid internet, A/C, fairly large pool, hot tub, wireless speakers, and an entertainment center (which we didn't use, but nice to have). Definitely recommended. There were only two of us, but the property is definitely large enough to accommodate larger groups. It also has another small deck underneath the main deck with hammocks, chairs, and a ping pong table. Carefree Getaways did a great job communicating with us and getting us settled in. It's also worth noting that the pool, hot tub, etc. are private and not shared with any other units. The property is quite private, except for some sight lines to the neighboring house through the trees. Bonus: fresh limes in the surrounding trees."

  • This is paradise....look no further

"In planning our holiday vacation I started with an Expedia search of cheap flights to warm destinations. We have never been to the USVI, but the cheap flights drew us in. Next up a VRBO search for homes landed me at the Round House. The reviews and pictures were appealing...but I am always nervous of what reality will be once we arrive. FEAR NOT...this place is exactly where you need to spend your week on ST. John. From the minute you drive up the last hill, and take in the view from the parking spot, you know you have made a good decision. Mary met us and we quickly got a tour of the Round House, which is a literal description. The house is basically a round screened in house. No walls, save for a a few wood shutters that you can close if necessary. But, from the minute you step in the house the ocean breezes, and crashing ocean waves, are your constant companion. We were a family of 4, two older girls, and never felt crowded. The lower porch bedrooms are perfect getaways for one or two people. You are literally hanging over the ocean, with the sound of birds and ocean waves all around you. The main house has a perfect little kitchen to cook your meals, a dining room table for 4-6 people, a few couches, a much coveted hammock and a small bathroom. There is also an outside deck, both up and down stairs, and an outdoor shower. While you will want to visit all the other beaches (one coast is white sand, the other coast is rocky), but the little Haulover beach is all you need for a daily swim and snorkel. (Rent your snorkel gear for the week from Crabbies in Coral Bay) We also traveled out to a number of beaches (Maho, Salt pond, Oppenheimer for the swing!, and a few more) We also took the St John Eco Tour and loved it! While you will have to return to Cruz Bay for gas for the Jeep, you can get everything you need at the little grocery stores in Coral Bay. (be prepared for sticker shock, the groceries are pricey at all the island stores) Bottom line...if you love nature and solitude...the Round House is where you need to be!"
