Recent USVI/St. John reviews

"I was looking for a place to celebrate my 60th birthday and after doing a lot of searching I found Villa Adeste. It's so hard knowing if the pictures do a place justice but in this case it does. The views were really spectacular and having your morning coffee or breakfast on the veranda was just that - picture perfect. The three bedrooms were equal in size so none of the three couples felt slighted in any way. There were plenty of towels provided - that were in great condition (but bring your own shampoo). Cruz Bay is only a 20 minute drive away and once you master driving on the left side of the street it's easy to get around. There was little traffic on the island except in Cruz Bay where all the local action takes place. But with the exception of a meal or two, there is really no reason to go there. The restaurants in Coral Bay were great, the prices were very reasonable and the beaches were spectacular. Charlie and Chris were very helpful if we had any questions - and I had plenty. My only regret is that mosquitos love me so it was difficult for me to hide (anywhere). And there was enough "Off" in the house for me to use which helped - thank you. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway."

  • A new enterprise with panoramic views

"I believe we were just the fourth or fifth guests to stay at Sunrise Sweet - the newest VRBO in Coral Bay! Our hosts were very welcoming and provided us with so many tips regarding local activities, restaurants and beaches. We happened to be on St. John at the same time as a group of my colleagues from work (total coincidence), but they didn't have the inside knowledge that we did and were stuck trying to figure out how life goes in the USVI! We will definitely be back again to drink in this cool, quiet, romantic getaway. I just hope it's sooner rather than later."

  • Great place to stay! So happy with experience.

"Great place to stay! So clean and beautiful. 10 minute walk into town. The view is gorgeous. Pool got dirty after a couple days, we called villa care-taker and they cleaned it right away. Room size and bathrooms are perfect. Hot tub was broken but we didn't need it. There were plenty of towels. Washer and dryer was SO helpful to keep towels/clothes clean. There was plenty of parking for two large jeeps. Communication with villa owner was incredible, so friendly and easy. She responds to all emails quickly. It was a perfect home for my trip and my group was so satisfied. Kelly"

  • Accommodations were as advertised...

"3 of us stayed here in early January, 2017... had everything we needed, it's not what I would call a fancy place, but the beds were very comfortable, the pool was clean and in good order, the kitchen had all we needed... didn't cook much, and it was fairly close to town, so in and out for dinner, shopping or the ferry was fine. While technically you can see the water from the upper deck, it’s not what I would call a place with a view… that being said, we didn’t care… we have plenty of other memories of the amazing views on the island. The place next door, a twin to this building and we’re not sure if it is a rental or not with the same company, seemed to have a better view. The towels in the bathroom were great too! (It’s the little things sometimes… right?) There is a spiral staircase inside for accessing top to bottom floors. This could be difficult for some. It has a cooler and beach chairs, and beach towels… the cooler was the only slight disappointment… funny story, we went to the beach with said cooler… I returned from the ocean and was confused when I saw our towels and things, but a yellow not blue cooler sitting there… I told my friend who was just arriving back also, “I would have sworn that was a blue cooler!” She said, “It was!”. We found the blue covering of the cooler up the beach by the way from the car… it had fallen apart… no biggie, but it would be great if it were a “one piece” cooler… lol… The top floor French doors all open with screens and the breeze is great. The screens however, could use some mending. Again, all in all, I think it was fine. OH! Almost forgot, check the cupboard above the coffee pot… it has a lock on it, but it isn’t locked and has some coffee filters as well as salt and pepper, etc. We didn’t check it because we saw the lock and wound up purchasing a few small items we didn’t necessarily need… although that first morning when I made coffee with paper towel filter, having one of the filters just inside that door would have been cool… lol… meh… we managed to get by!"
