  • A peaceful, lush and private sanctuary.

"Sarang has been a wonderful place to stay. It's just my husband and me here, but I can't even describe how relaxing and comfortable this place has been. You enter the cottage via Mamey Peak Road. There's an electronic entry gate, and the property is fully fenced, not so much for safety from people, but to protect the lush and well kept gardens safe from the local deer and donkeys. Upon exiting the car, you walk a few short feet on a path with lush, tropical plants on each side, to custom, stone steps leading to the hot tub, then front porch and entry door. Once inside, you immediately see the the gorgeous ocean views from the living room, and are greeted by no less than four sliding glass doors around the edges. One set leads to the breezy screened-in porch. Two other sliders lead to the sunning deck, while a third set leads to the grilling and outside dining area. The living room also houses the spiral staircase to the comfortable, king sized bed and loft area above. The bathroom is large and clean, and there's even a small office/study located off of the cute kitchen. Downstairs, there is an additional bedroom and bathroom. They look lovely, although we have been sleeping in the loft bedroom. The breezes up here are to die for. We have only turned the ac on once as there was a late afternoon shower and it felt a big muggy for a bit up here. It worked beautifully. That was particularly important for my husband! We love the location. While this cottage is completely and utterly private, it's still just 10-15 minutes to all the offerings in Coral Bay, about 10 minutes to the North Shore beaches, and a mere 20 minutes back to "town" which in this case is Cruz Bay. We feel like we've got the best of both worlds right now, nearly midway between the two towns, and very close to the beaches. Last, are the gardens. The gardens! They have been fabulously planned and lovingly maintained. The variety of plantings brings a lot of color to the many walking paths on the property. The hummingbirds and banaquits love hanging around here, and we love seeing them. All in all, this is a serene, lovely, comfortable place. We'd absolutely recommend it to our friends."

  • Great place for the price

"Overall this was a very nice place to stay. It was a reasonable price and the unit is very cute. we would definitely stay here again. I read a bad review by a previous guest about the mosquito and iguana problem. Sure we saw a couple mosquitoes but I only got bit once this whole time and that was on a hike on the middle of the island. This is a tropical island and yes there are some bugs. The iguanas in the trees outside are not a nuisance at all either. We enjoyed watching them while drinking our morning coffee. The trees aren't high enough for them to find themselves on your porch so I don't know why it would be an issue for anyone. Anyways I don't have many complaints about this place. We have stayed at Gallows Point and Grande Bay and they are nicer but also quite a bit more expensive."

"My family and I stayed at this house the last week of June. The weather was perfect! The house afforded privacy for the family and was a great place for entertaining. We spent a lot of time on the decks. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed the pool on the lower deck. The management team in charge of the property could not have been more helpful to us. They made sure we had what we needed and gave us helpful hints on how to navigate throughout the island. It was, by far, the best vacation my family and I have ever had. Thanks to the owners and Henry and Larissa who made our stay relaxing and fun!!!"
