  • Perfect Location on an Amazing Beach

"First off, the trip couldn't have been more fun and the condo was in great condition and was just as it was described. Mihaela was very responsive to any questions we had while we were there and quickly responded to any text I sent her. I think the corner condo location was the best location of any condo on the property. We had so many people walk by and say how jealous they were of the hammock on the patio. The only slight downside is the rundown pool house in front. However, the pool itself was very nice. To the right off the patio, you can walk out and see a beautiful sunrise and then to your left during the day go snorkeling in crystal clear water. Theres a little outdoor bar just down the beach that is open in the afternoon and is nice place to hangout and relax. The close proximity to the town of Red Hook is very ideal. The ferry is right there and I strongly recommend at least one trip across to St. Johns. For places to eat, I recommend Tap & Still if you are looking for delicious burgers, Fish Tails if you want a nice dinner, and Duffy's Love Shack on Wednesday nights if you want to dance. If you are looking to snorkel, Sapphire is beautiful. If you want to check out other beaches, Coki beach is nearby and has an abundance of fish. My favorite beach was a short 10 minute ferry ride across to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. It is a very relaxed small beach and if you swim around for a short time and you will certainly see multiple Sea turtles. Overall, this was a great place to stay and a great place to visit. I definitely did not want to leave."

  • Absolutely Wonderful

"The room is exactly as pictured, the resort wonderful and the location couldn't be better. Alan has all the things you'll need to have a worry free vacation. Plenty of towels, a little cooler and a large carrying bag were in the closet and used every day. The major appliances worked quietly and the smaller appliances worked well too. One minor issue (not for me) was the hair dryer liked to overheat and shut off even though air flow was good. After a few uses my wife figured out the run time lengths and all was well. Would I recommend, even at the risk of this place becoming harder to rent in the the future, Absolutely!"

  • Great location, steps from the beach

"We stayed for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Jerry is extremely easy to work with, gave really helpful information about the island, and was always available to help solve any issues. The property is right on Sapphire beach, and this unit is about as close as you can get to the water. The beach is very nice, and except for a couple days when there were 4 cruise ships in port, never got too crowded. There is a small bar/restaurant on the beach attached to the property next door, nothing fancy but they will deliver right to your beach chair. You have access to free loungers as a guest of the property. About the snorkleing, I've seen several reviewers say that they didn't see much. This is certainly true if you stay right on the shoreline. You have to go out maybe 50-100 yards, and then you will see every kind of fish you could imagine. I went out almost every day, and was never disappointed. My favorites were the sea turtles and the Spotted rays, which are really majestic, appearing to fly through the water. The condo itself is very basic, but had everything we needed. It could use an update for sure, but for the price, I felt that we got a good deal. Having 2 bathrooms was really great for our family of 4. The plumbing can be a bit problematic, one toilet needs to be repaired (a repairman came by and looked at it, said it needed a part, then we never saw him again). As one other reviewer mentioned, the stove only has 2 burners that light automatically, the other 2 require a match. Norma will change your sheets and towels if you ask, but I get the feeling she is really overworked, as a couple times she said she was going to come by, but didn't manage until the next day. Probably a symptom of the fact we were there during the busiest 2 weeks of the year. The property is really close to Red Hook, but you can't walk, it's way too dangerous on the road. You will need a rental car, or figure out the rather chaotic public transit. Taxis are a complete ripoff, island wide. Bottom line, this is a great rental. Not luxurious, but hard to beat the price for a beachfront location. Owner is easy to work with and responsive."

  • Perfect Holiday Vacation

"Ocean Kaleidoscope Villa is perfectly located on the island of St. Thomas just north of Red Hook on an accessible road overlooking the exquisite view you see in the picture. We arrived at night unable to see the view in the nighttime darkness, and were dazzled by its beauty when we awoke the following morning. As a matter of fact, we spent a great deal of our time on the very large extended porch outside enjoying conversation with one another and the lovely view. You won't find better hosts then Gail and Curlson, who welcomed us so warmly and provided for every need that we left feeling more like cherished friends than clients. The house is immaculately clean--a top priority for me--and the layout and amenities are exactly as described. I would happily recommend this property to a friend or relative, and expect to return myself with my adult daughter (who wasn't able to travel this time). We didn't use the small pool, but that's only because we preferred the beach. Smith beach, formerly Lindquist, is within walking (and very easy driving) distance--approximately 400 yards once you've made your way down the hill to Route 38. Although we also visited Magen's Bay, the "neighborhood" beach at Smith/Lindquist was absolutely perfect for our needs: clean, fine-grain sand, gorgeous waters, uncrowded but very friendly. (I wish I were writing this review from my beach chair there! ) I definitely recommend the large spa (hot tub) right on the premises after returning from the beach. It's roomy, warm, and helps soothe tired backs from zip lining, hiking, etc. I confess that I ventured into Charlotte Amalie to enjoy one day of shopping, which was fantastic. And my adult (23, and 29) sons enjoyed more than one evening out on the town (especially Duffy's Love Shack). But the real beauty of St. Thomas is in the gorgeous natural beauty of the island, especially those turquoise waters, and the human kindness of people like Curlson and Gail ready to share their home with guests from around the world. You'll love it here! Louise, Matt, and Sean Carroll Keeley from Worcester, MA."
