  • Beautiful views, very nice condo.

"Let me just start with a few cons, the "Guide to Relaxation" that is included which gives you a lot of needed information about your stay is awesome BUT it is not up to date, I tried to contact 2 people on there that are no longer associated with this condo, and it should be updated. Second, there are no clean towels after you use them and no maid service unless you pay for it, so plan on using them again, bringing extra or going to launder them. Third, if you get a rental car do yourself a favor and pay the extra for the jeep, the hills are so steep and if you do see regular cars around they're usually beat up pretty bad from the roads. We found ourselves traveling to St John quite a bit for the hiking, snorkeling and shops/bars, if we go back we would probably stay there. But there is also a lot to do on St Thomas but we just preferred St John. Now for the good stuff, this condo is gorgeous and has a breathtaking view, it was so nice to wake up to and listening to the ocean is one of my favorite things about it. It can get pretty warm at night and the ceiling fans in there are not that powerful, the memory foam mattress had us sweating a few times, so I guess it depends what time of year you go. The resort is beautiful also but the parking lot is full of potholes, hopefully they will be updated, I liked the fact that there was security at entrance and patrolling the facility also. The only other suggestion I have is maybe you could install a cascading blind on the balcony above the hammock to block the light from the patio across the way, when you are sitting on the balcony at night and trying to enjoy it the light from their balcony interfered with it. All in all again it's a beautiful condo. It was worth the money."

  • A must see!!

"We recently had the chance to stay at 1 Beach Road for a family birthday celebration and our trip was nothing short of spectacular. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and personally escorted to what can only be described as a gift from heaven tucked away amongst the hustle and bustle of St Thomas's east end. The combination of the large villa with its picturesque ocean views and private beach access make it a island lovers paradise. We had the entire family on the private beach while the tide was out, and the snorkeling is hands down better than anything you will see on a guided tour to Norman or any other island, and its right out your back door! For day charters, Red Hook is a short 2 minutes away, not that you ever need to leave the villa! The house is beautifully appointed, and the owners were extremely accommodating. We had an elderly family member and 2 small children with us, and when we arrived there was a day bed waiting for our little one! We had two very small issues which were addressed within minutes, literally. I cannot recommend this house enough for your next stay. You won't regret it. One note... while the pictures are breathtaking, they don't portray the many steps throughout the villa. This house has quite a few steps to the different areas. Just something to consider if there is someone in your party that may have trouble navigating many different levels."

  • An AWESOME get away on a beautiful island

"Studio apartment, includes all you need for a vacation. My husband & I stayed for a week. Went to Moe's Grocery Store in Red Hook the first day via Taxi. Food seemed to cost twice as much. Walked to Sapphire beach many days which is easier going down than coming up, you'll become more familiar after one day getting there through the condos with the red roofs. Walk past the marina stay to the left and go through the parking lot. While at the beach, we snorkeled around the coral on the right side & was told there have been turtle sightings out towards the left side but we didn't see any. You can rent a lounge chair for $9 a day or use the chairs provided with room rental. There was a cooler with the room that we did use with a bottle opener attached to it and making ice ahead of time. Some nights we caught the safari to Red hook for $1 to do happy hour & dinner, then returned via taxi $4-5 per person (safari only goes one-way which would of taken quite a bit longer going back). One day we went into Red Hook, took the ferry to St Johns ($7 each way) rented a jeep & drove to Cinnamon Beach (great snorkeling at the end - coral w tunnels), then to Francis Bay with a stop "skinny legs restaurant" in Coral Bay for lunch. Another day we went up to Coki Beach which has Coral World, we didn't go in to it but apparently is kind of like a smaller version of Sea World where you can swim with sharks & other animals. At this beach, $5 to rent a chair, snorkeling was also very good on the right side. Go early gets a bit busy, but people will wait on you for food & drinks. Overall St Thomas is a fun island, lots to do. Red Hook is away from the cruise ship terminal so didn't get overly crowded. There are 2 pools at Sapphire Village, one is steps away from the room & is quiet. Room was on the bottom floor at the end, also quiet. I feel we were in an area that you had many options to do things. We talked about catching a boat at the marina for snorkeling trip but didn't this time. We did go to the "Slice" restaurant by the other pool. They have various pizzas & other foods on the menu. People were very friendly & helpful."
