  • Wonderful, Relaxing Spring Break!

"Sea La Vie was the perfect getaway for our party of four (two couples). With United starting a weekly direct flight from Houston, St Thomas/St Johns became an attractive location for us to visit. Drive from the airport was as expected (short but slow because of traffic); but car rental was easy, and "slow" helped for learning to drive on the left. Directions (and recommendations) from owner were very helpful in easily finding Sea La Vie, as well as where to visit. As a frequent VRBO renter, the pictures don't do justice to the property: it's secluded, on a "cliff" with both a great balcony (breakfast & coffee) and infinity pool (late afternoon & drinks) for relaxing and looking out over the ocean. Only improvement would be a couple of good "reading lamps" (only a minor personal "nit", everything else was perfect). Could snorkel at base of ladder down the cliff (usual fish/large lobster) wearing sandals (instead of fins) because of rocks/urchins. Favorite parts of the trip were Lindquist Beach (easy drive, bring chairs to set-up under a tree) and St Johns (30-minute car ferry from Red Hook, Sam & Jack's deli for a "cooler lunch", then off to one of the more secluded beaches). Also enjoyed Duffy's Love Shack (for a late lunch of appetizers and rum drinks after a day on the beach; could get packed later); The Tap & Still (who would have thought that funnel cakes mix well with drinks); and Senor Pizza (great pizza); all are in Red Hook ... serving staff were uniformly friendly & helpful (not sure if that was because we were "off-peak" or if they are always that way). Finally, Freddie (the caretaker for the property) was great; we'd typically see him in the mornings, and the one time we had a minor problem he was easy to reach by phone and quick to respond. Overall, we'd highly recommend Sea La Vie for a relaxing getaway and as a base to explore both St Thomas and St Johns."

  • Lovely location and beautiful condo with stunning views

"The condo is cared for and very comfortable with 4 balconies and 4 full well appointed bathrooms. Management was extremely kind and helpful. Amenities great - beach, pool, towels and dining outstanding value. Right next to Ritz Carlton which is 3X more expensive and we were in luxury. Would return in a second !"

  • relaxing paradise

"This villa was fantastic! The common areas were open and airy with plenty of space for 12 of us to relax. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need, including lots of dry goods left from previous guests. The bedrooms were spacious, mattresses were comfy. The pool and grounds were beautiful. Can't describe how wonderful it was to step out in the mornings to enjoy the pool and fabulous views. The little beach was an excellent bonus with good snorkeling just a few steps away. The location, close to great beaches, Redhook, shops, restaurants, and the ferry to St John was also perfect. Property managers, Dawn and Dave were friendly and helpful. It was nice to know they were available but since everything was perfect, we didn't need them for anything more. I can't say enough good things. This was our 12th trip to St Thomas, and I wish we'd stayed here every time!"

  • Great Villa and central location

"We had a wonderful stay in St. Thomas at Pavillions and Pools. The highlight of the property is the restaurant on site, Lime. We ate there most nights as they offer various menus throughout the week. We didn't do as much cooking as we thought! The staff there was beyond great as are the drinks and the view. While our actual Villa was well furnished/stocked/appointed and we have no complaints about it, I would say that the proximity to the busy road and the beach was disappointing. You can't hear much inside the Villa but when relaxing outside it was often loud. Also, the walk to the beach leaves a lot to be desired. However, once you got there the beach was awesome. Another plus is the proximity to Red Hook. Once you figure out the Safari Taxis (look for locals) it's easy to get around. We went to St. John several times and had a blast on Water Island. Looking back we would probably rent a car to get around. All in all, we had a super stay and would recommend staying in this Villa. Special shout out to the owners, Pat is very helpful and friendly! Probably the best owner we have met via VRBO...."
