  • Pure Paradise!

"Our 3-week stay at Captain's Quarters was truly unforgettable and packed with many special memories. Joe & Marcia Wilkins, the owners, are very gracious and hospitable and made our stay very relaxing and comfortable. They are so accommodating and go above and beyond to make you feel special. Joe met us at the airport to show us the way to the property. It is nestled in a residential area and would be a challenge to find otherwise. The property is in excellent condition, immaculate, extremely well maintained and picture perfect. The units are fully stocked with everything you need for the beach, games to play in the condo, all kitchen items, pool accessories/toys, gym equipment, etc. Joe & Marcia have truly thought of everything you need to enjoy vacation. They are very knowledgeable about all the island happenings and helped us make the most of our days by giving us tips on the best beaches, which days will be the least crowded, best snorkeling spots & restaurants, how to get around, etc. Joe even supplied our snorkel gear for the entire 3 weeks and went with us to the beach to give our granddaughters snorkel lessons. I daresay you will not get that level of attention anywhere else. The view from the property is outstanding and breathtaking! Every morning waking up to the amazing view of pristine water and surrounding bays/islands was such a treat. The landscaping at Captain's Quarters is beautifully maintained. You must rent a car to get around to the beaches, shops, restaurants, excursions, though many things are only minutes away. This property offers seclusion and privacy. I must comment on Lucy, their very sweet and docile dog. She happily greeted us each time we drove up, is very calm and has a thing for iguanas! My two granddaughters loved petting and spending time with Lucy - we all did. We highly recommend staying at Captain's Quarters. Joe & Marcia have big hearts for their guests and have become our friends. We are looking forward to future visits!"

  • Relaxation and beauty

"Rock works was the perfect retreat for relaxation with beautiful views. The house is comfortable and well appointed. The listing was accurate and perhaps a bit modest. I loved waking up to the magnificent views of the ocean. We enjoyed most of our meals here, although there are plenty of great restaurants on the island. St. Thomas is not a large island, so we were able to easily explore from here. We visited Hulls Bay, Magen's Bay and Coki beach for swimming and snorkeling. We took the ferry to St. John from Redhook. We explored Charlotte Amalie and we visited Mountaintop and the botanical gardens. The roads take some getting used to, but they were manageable. You definitely need a car if you stay here. Sherri was terrific. She led us here from the airport and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely come back and will recommend Rockworks to our friends. The setup is perfect for two couples, although not ideal for anyone with small children as the second bedroom is across the deck from the main house. The only drawback - there are roosters all over the island and they are noisy if you aren't accustomed to them!"

  • Spectacular stay & Gorgeous view

"My husband and I stayed at the house in August and had a fantastic trip! The house is absolutely gorgeous, with breathtaking views of Magen's Bay. Magen's Bay is definitely worth visiting, but it was equally lovely spending whole days savoring the views from the house, basking in the sun, and enjoying the island breeze from the pool deck. The house itself is spacious and beautifully furnished. It has a huge kitchen/great room, which almost feels like it's an open air area, with sliding doors on both sides and amazing views. We enjoyed cooking and lounging in the great room while taking in the views and even saw a rainbow one day. Sharon, the house manager, was incredibly helpful and friendly, before our arrival. We tried some nearby restaurants, but it was just as enjoyable staying in and cooking in the fabulous kitchen. We'll look forward to visiting the house again in the future!"

  • Great way to celebrate 30 years of Marriage

"My husband has been watching this property for the last several years and saving a vacation here for a special occasion. He surprised me and planned a 9 day stay at the Stone Cottage. The cottage was very clean, private and cozy. The pictures are accurate and it is supplied with everything you need (cookware, dishes, towels, etc) including a couple beach chairs and coolers for enjoyable beach hopping. We never needed the air conditioner and enjoyed the gentle breezes that freely flow through the cottage via the huge sliding (screened) doors and windows. We enjoyed a couple days just hanging around the cottage and swimming in the coctail pool, reading a good book and enjoying some music. Others days were spent enjoying all the various beaches, restuarants and shopping the island provides. But it was always nice to come back for a relaxing evening, listening to all the various night sounds (tree frogs, etc) and eating dinner on the deck and watching the sunset. The ocean view is great, and at night the stars and moon are amzing. It is quiet and away from the hustle of a hotel and traffic in town. Jeff and Sherri were great hosts. Highly recommend Stone Cottage if you want a relaxing get-away."
