  • Home away from home for the holiday was perfect

"Our 2015 Christmas in a white castle on Water Island provided plenty of “white” that we hardly missed our Minnesota snow at all—from the white towels and bedding to the white sandy beach of Honeymoon Bay! Our entire family of 16, including: young grandchildren, teen cousins, adult siblings, spouses, and grandparents enjoyed our close to 2-week stay and all of the memories made. Activities together were plenty--patio card games, pool floating, sunbathing, beach relaxing, fishing, cooking fresh caught fish, Dinghy’s events, horseshoes with the locals, karaoke, snorkeling, swimming by sea turtles, hermit crabs, TV movies, Vikings football, ferry rides, touring Water Island on golf carts and touring St. Thomas with the $1 shuttle rides. The morning view of sailboats in blue water and the evening view of white twinkling St. Thomas lights were spectacular. And the short rain showers brought double rainbows. Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas by the ferry has a really good ice cream shop, Tickles pub, souvenir shops, and groceries. (A tip to save grocery trips: We had planned some meals ahead and brought extra suitcases with items like: frozen meats, salami, cheese, trail mixes, and boxed wine.) The Gourmet grocery store by the ferry had anything else we needed. We did go through many tortilla wraps, bagels, and snack crackers. Dinners at Dinghy’s were delightful too, including the Lionfish and their French fries. Home away from home for the holiday was perfect. Thanks Lisa for offering such a great vacation palace on a fun little island!"

  • And there I was, a home away from home!

"Bj and I stayed at Captain Joe's property for 7 amazing days. The place is tucked away on the hill side and very beautiful and peaceful. There is nothing like walking out your back yard and being able to snorkel in the crystal clear beautiful waters of Hull Bay or sleeping in your bed listening to the crashing of the ocean waves (almost as if you were sleeping right on the beach). Some of the most beautiful waters and landscapes I have seen in my life. The property is wooded and full of wildlife from lizards to turtles to to occasional awesome visit from Joe's cat Jumbie. You didn't have to see anyone if you didn't want too and there was a nice little beach bar not too far down the street where we met some amazing locals(Hull Bay Hideaway). Joe made us feel at home from the moment we met him and I can say we have never felt more welcome by anyone. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with the most beautiful view and the occasional sailor story (best stories ever) stay at Joe's place. You wont regret it!!! we will be back. All our love and appreciation, Amanda and BJ."

  • Wonderful vacation!

"Our group of 3 couples and one single just returned from our 10-day vacation on St. John. Sinbad welcomed us at the ferry, escorted us to the house and gave us a complete tour. Each of the 4 BR's has its own private entrance, bath with shower, a/c as well as a private decks with seating to enjoy the exceptional views. The communal area has a full kitchen, large dining table for 8, TV, fast wifi, bar, and ceiling fans. The large main deck has a very nice gas grill, more outdoor seating and another dining table. The pool was cool with plenty of seating to nap or sunbathe. There are so many extras provided by the host. Coolers, beach chairs, towels, pool floats, and ample recommendations for activities. Most activities are about 10-15 minutes away by car. Taxis are no problem. Private chefs and cleaning services are available. The water is filtered and tastes great. The bedrooms have reading lamps and plenty of closet space. There is ambient lighting by the pool and in the main living area. We loved watching the many iguana's, gecko's and birds that frequent the property. The property is lovely, great location up on the hill to catch the breezes and enjoy the views, the owner could not have been more helpful and Sinbad is a phone call away although we had no reason to call."

  • Peaceful and Beautiful Location on St. John's Quieter East Side!

"We enjoyed our stay at the Little Lagoon! We especially liked being away from the busier west side of the island - it feels very secluded and is a quiet location away from roads. My husband and I and our 4 young children fit well here - the apartment was the perfect size for us (Little Lagoon - South) and has a nice kitchen that allowed us to prepare daily meals for our family. Our kids enjoyed the swings out front and walking down to the water. Ernest and Donna and their family were very welcoming and were always available to answer any questions we had about the apartment or places to snorkel/play on the beach. We would recommend the Little Lagoon to anyone!"
