  • Beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere...

"The house was as advertised--very spacious, plenty of room for us to all be there (group of 6) and yet not feel like we were crowding each other. The caretaker met us at the airport and led us back to the house. I was really glad he did, as my Verizon phone would not work on the island (AT&T and T-Mobile seem to work though). The roads take some getting used to--left side driving on winding, narrow mountain roads. The driveway to the house involves a very sharp turn, but can be managed with care (we had a mini-van and did it, but a jeep would be better). Of note: the kitchen is a separate building from the bedroom/livingroom house. The bathrooms are all attached to the bedrooms as well. The sun deck was really cool, but there were about 70+ steep rocky stairs to get down to it. The water was pretty rough too--if you want to get in, you have to navigate the surf and the rocks. I highly recommend planning to visit one or more of St. Thomas's peaceful beaches; the waves are gentle to non-existent, and the beaches are super clean and provide bathrooms. You do have to pay to get in--per person, and also for parking. We visited the Magen's Bay beach, but there are many others that are beautiful as well. Overall, great trip. BRING BUG SPRAY."

  • Fabulous hideway with spectacular views

"We, husband and 2 young adult children, spent New Year's eve week in this lovely cottage on the hillside overlooking picturesque Magen's Bay. Ken and Joanne were wonderful hosts. They responded promptly when we inquired about renting and during the week when we had questions. Ken met us at the airport and escorted us to the home. The location was perfect for us. And what a treat to have coffee on the deck overlooking the bay. We had a rental car and were able to get to most places on the island within 10-15 minutes. The home was well-stocked with the basics and beach towels."

  • Paradise on St John

"It was love at first site at Still Waters: the villa is spacious, impeccably furnished, and beautifully appointed - beachy in decor but not kitschy. The kitchen is far and away the best equipped I've rented anywhere; the only things I wanted for were ridiculously minute - like sharper knives and more storage containers for leftovers (like Tupperware, Gladware and the like). But all the essentials are covered and then some - fantastic blender, poolside as well as indoor-appropriate serving dishes, super nice cookware, baking dishes, cheese grater, toaster, coffee maker - it's all there and good quality. The view from the deck is amazing, and we enjoyed many lovely sunsets. The pool is smallish but deep and well-maintained and is great for cooling off in the afternoon. The overall location was great too - just minutes from Cruz Bay but quiet and secluded on a hill to allow for absolutely privacy while on the deck. Although there were just two of us sharing the villa, the house is very spacious and laid out in a way that would be great for families or multiple couples, allowing for common space but also privacy when needed. Annmarie could not possibly have been any kinder or more professional. She was fantastically responsive and accommodating from my very first inquiry all the way through to our departure. (Her staff at Low Key Watersports resonates this same tone - everyone we interacted with was wonderful and greatly contributed to our wonderful time in St John.) I can't think of anywhere better to stay on St John and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Still Waters and Annmarie to others."

  • What's not to love?

"Our group of 4 couples found Casa del Sol the perfect mix of togetherness and privacy. So many outdoor living spaces--both sunny and shaded--to gather and enjoy the views and one another. Indoor great room/kitchen wonderful for nightly feasts. 4 separate pods/bedrooms for each couple to have some privacy. The home is nicely stocked with all you need for cooking and dining. Beach equipment in good shape and in ample supply. Screens to keep the mosquitoes out. Only criticism would be the lighting in the kitchen is lacking for evening meal prep, but if that is all you can complain about in paradise, I think it's a pretty good day!"
