  • Perfect for Two

"We really enjoyed our stay . It was a perfect getaway. Comfortable, relaxing, quiet and peaceful with cool breezes and bird songs. Leslie and Steve are a delight and we would definitely recommend staying there. The beach at Smith bay was our favorite. We would love to visit again"

  • Honeymoon Experience

"We had a blast during our week long stay in St. Thomas at this vrbo. We decided to opt against the all-inclusive options to save money and to explore the island and get a better taste of the culture. If you are looking to literally sit on a beach and not move on your trip, this isn't your vrbo spot. But what we liked about this choice with Jason and Dee was that we were able to really explore. We spent one day at Maegan's Bay (5-10 min drive). We spent one day at the Ritz getting massages and hanging there (10 min drive). We spent 1 day at St. John (10 min drive to ferry). We spent 1 day at Lindquist Beach (5 min drive). We spent one day at Frenchman's Reef (10 min drive). We spent a day ziplining (it was, meh.) Notice the theme? Everything is pretty convenient. Pluses: - The views each morning were awesome. - We used the hot tub every night. It was so nice. - Jason and Dee are SUPER friendly. Jason even helped me change a flat tire in our rental car (if you plan to explore, we recommend getting a rental vs. taxi's. It may be a tad more, but it's more convenient). They also provided great recommendations about the island and were very prompt in every response. They helped us get a good sense of the culture, too, which we liked. Minuses: - Not much here, but if I were to be nitpicky, the road noise off the house is a bit loud. - If you want to eat every meal in and cook yourself, this is not the place to do it. We cooked a few meals, getting local fish from Fish Tales and heading to the market, but it's a tight, ill-equipped kitchen. That said, you want to eat out if you can -- We LOVED Mafolie restaurant (5 min drive) and Havana Blue. - It's an experience getting in and out of the house property with the gate and the hill. There are no shoulders on the roads, really, so you just have to focus when you drive. - The snorkel gear isn't the best, so plan on renting some if you really will snorkel a lot. The beach chairs and towels were great, though. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay with Jason and Dee. We saved a lot of money going this route, had good access to the island, slept well on the nice bed, had wifi at our disposal if we needed it, etc. Highly recommend: Maegan's Bay, Trunk Bay, hiking to Waterlemon Cay on St. John's, Annaburg Ruins, Havana Blue Restaurant, strong drinks at Fat Turtle, getting a car rental."

  • Home away from home for the holiday was perfect

"Our 2015 Christmas in a white castle on Water Island provided plenty of “white” that we hardly missed our Minnesota snow at all—from the white towels and bedding to the white sandy beach of Honeymoon Bay! Our entire family of 16, including: young grandchildren, teen cousins, adult siblings, spouses, and grandparents enjoyed our close to 2-week stay and all of the memories made. Activities together were plenty--patio card games, pool floating, sunbathing, beach relaxing, fishing, cooking fresh caught fish, Dinghy’s events, horseshoes with the locals, karaoke, snorkeling, swimming by sea turtles, hermit crabs, TV movies, Vikings football, ferry rides, touring Water Island on golf carts and touring St. Thomas with the $1 shuttle rides. The morning view of sailboats in blue water and the evening view of white twinkling St. Thomas lights were spectacular. And the short rain showers brought double rainbows. Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas by the ferry has a really good ice cream shop, Tickles pub, souvenir shops, and groceries. (A tip to save grocery trips: We had planned some meals ahead and brought extra suitcases with items like: frozen meats, salami, cheese, trail mixes, and boxed wine.) The Gourmet grocery store by the ferry had anything else we needed. We did go through many tortilla wraps, bagels, and snack crackers. Dinners at Dinghy’s were delightful too, including the Lionfish and their French fries. Home away from home for the holiday was perfect. Thanks Lisa for offering such a great vacation palace on a fun little island!"

  • The Best Private Beach on Magens Bay.

"This was our third trip to Villa Eau Claire. We have stayed in the 1 bed 1 bath, 1 bed studio, and now the 2 bed 2 bath units. This time we brought along our two young boys, 6 yrs old & 8yrs old. My mother-in-law & father-in-law stayed in the studio rental. Both the kids as well as my wife's parents enjoyed every single second of our stay. The stunning view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed snorkeling right along the edge of the rocks where we were able to see a plethora of aquatic life. We ate fresh mango and delicious coconut straight from the property. I have had other family members and friends that have booked at Villa Eau Claire since our most recent stay and it exceeded their expectations as well. The owners are a pleasure to work with! Thank you again for sharing this beautiful location with us. We had a remarkable time and look forward to returning soon!"
