  • Hidden Cove in Hull Bay is Excellent!

"Nancy and I stayed at Joe Tulis's Hidden Cove property in Hull Bay, STT for a week at the end of Jan 2016. The apartment is beautiful and perfect for a peaceful getaway for two: Incredible view of the beautiful bay, the sunset, the hills of St. Thomas. Birds chirp their morning song, the ocean laps at the cliffs, stars put on a midnight show. Joe is a gracious host, happy to help if needed and respectful of your privacy. We could not have asked for a better stay and we look forward to doing so in the future. Thank you, Joe, we'll see you again! - Hank from Texas"

  • A good fit for our family

"We started looking a year in advance for a place to stay while we were in St. Thomas for our 'weddingmoon' vacation. We planned to bring family, so we needed a place that would accomodate up to 11 people. As luck would have it there ended up being only 5 of us so there was more than enough room in this spaceous house. My 10 year old really loved the little pool for taking a dip, even after all the beach swimming we did. I must admit the adults enjoyed relaxing in the pool too, with a drink in hand as we watched the sun set. We loved being so close to Magens Bay as it was one of our favorite beaches, although the island is small, so the drive to Coki (our favorite beach) wasn't too bad either. The view was fantastic and comments about the amazing view came to be a running joke with our group ("I don't know if you noticed, but this place has an amazing view"). We even got a few great photos of us in our wedding attire at the house with the banyan tree or the ocean in the background. Victoria was very non intrusive during our visit, but we knew we could pop in if we needed anything. The house was a bit more run down than the pictures showed, but we came to the island to see the beaches and other sights, not to sit at the house, so we didn't mind. The kitchen was well appointed, and we had no trouble whipping up meals with the items on hand. There were plenty of towels for beach trips and a cooler for us to use to bring to the beach as well as flippers and other beach 'goodies'. The only thing that we weren't prepared for was for there to be quite so many mosquitos. We brought one can of bug spray, but it wasn't nearly enough for the week. Thankfully there was some left behind by other previous guests, as we needed to spray frequently. For those who choose to stay at the three palms the only bit of advice I have to give (other than to bring plenty of bug spray) is to be sure to peek in the refrigerator before you do your grocery shopping. There may be condiments, sauces, jellies, etc. already and it can save you the trouble of buying something that you already have. We forgot to look, and ended up buying jelly, even though there was a practically full jar there already! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would encourage those with larger groups to give three palms a try."

  • Wonderful, will be going back

"This is the place for those who want a private adventure retreat away from the tourist areas at a great value. The listing description was accurate with a nice layout for 1 or 2 couples. the largest positive point for us was the snorkeling right in front of the house. A 40 to 50 yard trail leads to a secluded beach with amazing snorkeling for more than a mile to the east and almost a mile to the west (more than most folks can accomplish). there is world class coral right in front of the house that was already old when Columbus arrived in the area, and there is such limited access to the water along this shoreline, ensuring the reef seclusion and beauty. We were in the water 7 times in 4 days and never saw another person in the water with us. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the place could use a little more dusting, but Carolyn was a great host, and ensured we had everything we needed. We recommend renting a jeep as the roads are steep in places and if you like to explore like us it is a must to have 4 wheel drive. We took the ferry to St John on one day and loved hiking the Reef Bay Trail and snorkeling at the end (Hike back up was tough but worth it, make sure you see the petroglyphs). Coral World was also worth going to, and we did spend an enjoyable day exploring Charlot Amalie. Carolyn made it easy for us on arrival by recommending we obtain our vehicle and go get groceries, and then she will meet you at whichever grocery store when you call, and then lead you to the house for check in. The car rental we chose (we recommend Discount cars, they pick you up at the airport minutes after calling them) and the grocery stores are minutes form the airport, and the home is 15 to 20 minutes from there. you can reach the furthest points on the island from the home in 30 minutes at the most. Thank you Carolyn Wes & Lisa"

  • ANOTHER GREAT VACATION!

"This is our second time to High Blue Heaven. The place is beautiful. All the amenities of home with a beautiful view of Magen's Bay. Robin is great! She is always attentive to whatever you need and a wealth of knowledge for anything on the island. Location is perfect to anything you want to do on the island . This trip we had our family join us for a week. They fell in love with the place as well. We can't wait to come back. The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the view of Magen's Bay. Car rental is a must if you plan on exploring the sights of St Thomas and St John. Don't be scared off by driving on the other side of the road if you are from the states, it just takes a bit of getting use to but well worth it, We love the restaurant 13 . It has a great menu with specials as well as an awesome pizza menu. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. Cost U less, Pueblo, Moe Fresh Market and Kmart are awesome for getting any supplies you need. All are well worth exploring depending on what you are looking for in store. Owners of the villa are great. They share this beautiful villa with others to enjoy and are quick to respond to any questions you may have. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to enjoy St Thomas with all the amenities of home. Looking forward to our next visit."
