  • Lush, Tropical Paradise

"The "Cottage" turned out to be the caribbean paradise I was dreaming about. The lush, tropical feel one would expect in a rain forest along with the view of Megan's bay was magnificant. What a place to call your own for several weeks. We actually stayed for three weeks and should have booked longer. The "Cottage" is well stocked with everything you need so don't bring bring anything other than your clothes. They have beach chairs, beach towels, cooler and everything you need including the hair dryer, washing machine and dryer. The view at daybreak and the setting sun is breathtaking. Distant noices of dogs barking or roosters crowing are noticable in the late afternoon but the noices are from a distance and not close by the cottage. The cottage is surrounded on all sides by lush greenry so you free secluded and at peace. One of the reasons why I chose this site is they allowed my small dog to accompany us. And she (Remi) had a wonderful time on the large expansive deck chasing small lizards although she never caught one. Hull Bay is close by and we found it to be a small friendly local beach where we went snorkling. Remi was also allowed on the beach and could run up and down the sandy shore line without being on a leash. You will need a car to travel around the island since this location in high in the hills and not close to any stores. So, remember you will be driving on the left side of the road which didn't create any problems for us. The terrain is a little steep and it might take you a couple of days to feel comfortable with driving around the sharp curves on the roads. But, we didn't seem to have any problems with this. If you are accustomed to an air conditioned resort room, this might not be your place. The only time we were a little uncomforabel was from 3 to 5 in the afternnon. Other than that, the cottage was wonderful."

  • A good fit for our family

"We started looking a year in advance for a place to stay while we were in St. Thomas for our 'weddingmoon' vacation. We planned to bring family, so we needed a place that would accomodate up to 11 people. As luck would have it there ended up being only 5 of us so there was more than enough room in this spaceous house. My 10 year old really loved the little pool for taking a dip, even after all the beach swimming we did. I must admit the adults enjoyed relaxing in the pool too, with a drink in hand as we watched the sun set. We loved being so close to Magens Bay as it was one of our favorite beaches, although the island is small, so the drive to Coki (our favorite beach) wasn't too bad either. The view was fantastic and comments about the amazing view came to be a running joke with our group ("I don't know if you noticed, but this place has an amazing view"). We even got a few great photos of us in our wedding attire at the house with the banyan tree or the ocean in the background. Victoria was very non intrusive during our visit, but we knew we could pop in if we needed anything. The house was a bit more run down than the pictures showed, but we came to the island to see the beaches and other sights, not to sit at the house, so we didn't mind. The kitchen was well appointed, and we had no trouble whipping up meals with the items on hand. There were plenty of towels for beach trips and a cooler for us to use to bring to the beach as well as flippers and other beach 'goodies'. The only thing that we weren't prepared for was for there to be quite so many mosquitos. We brought one can of bug spray, but it wasn't nearly enough for the week. Thankfully there was some left behind by other previous guests, as we needed to spray frequently. For those who choose to stay at the three palms the only bit of advice I have to give (other than to bring plenty of bug spray) is to be sure to peek in the refrigerator before you do your grocery shopping. There may be condiments, sauces, jellies, etc. already and it can save you the trouble of buying something that you already have. We forgot to look, and ended up buying jelly, even though there was a practically full jar there already! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would encourage those with larger groups to give three palms a try."

  • Magical, Serene Paradise with Jaw-Dropping Views!

"We just stayed a week in Blue Skies Villa. There were 8 of us and we all had our own perfect, private space. My husband and I stayed in the master suite in the main house, my 12-yr old son took the private bonus room off the master with the bunk bed, my sister and her fiancé stayed in the 2nd master across from the pool, and my 21 & 22-yr old nieces took the downstairs beach suite with my 14-yr old daughter. The layout was fantastic, and you can dream up any rooming configuration you want because there are plenty of sofa beds and airbeds (like our group, not everyone will fit neatly into a 2-person per suite layout!) And the place! I don’t even know where to start – it had all the dreamy elements of a paradise combined with all the comforts of home. Of course, our favorite spot was the enormous deck with plenty of comfy chaise lounges overlooking magnificent Magen’s Bay. We had our own private pool complete with pool toys and floats, and a barbeque grill that we used several times. We read many reviews about how the villa was extremely well-stocked, but we weren’t sure exactly what that meant and ended up bringing WAY more than we needed. Every single closet, drawer, and cabinet was stocked with everything you could possibly imagine: plenty of sheets, towels, shampoo, conditioner, sunscreens, hairspray, hairdryers and flatirons, cleansers, laundry supplies, pots, pans, condiments, etc. etc. They even had a garlic press! So we were able to make plenty of our own meals with supplies from Moe’s Gourmet Groceries in Red Hook (AWESOME STORE!), and we were able to do our own laundry which came in handy since we spent so many days at the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas and St. John. There’s even a library with plenty of DVDs and books! And I can’t write a review without giving a big shout-out to our wonderful, attentive hosts, Rashel and Jim! They escorted us from the airport, pre-stocked the kitchen with the grocery list we provided, checked up on us, and were available to answer any questions during our stay. Rashel is also a licensed massage therapist, and while we intended to take advantage of her services, we lost track of time during the week! She will bring all the necessary supplies directly to the villa. Blue Skies Villa was so relaxing and beautiful. We would not have had such an incredible experience at any overpriced, high-end resort. If you’re thinking about visiting St. Thomas, DO NOT HESITATE to book this villa!"

  • Heaven ...

"There is nothing but beauty you see as soon as you drive thru the gated entrance. The view of the bay is stunning. You have immediate access to the soft sandy beach from just a few steps from the house. Just prepare to take short showers due to not slot of hot water. And the mattresses need updating but other than that, this is the best vacation home on Megan's Bay, hands down. I no longer need to search for my vacation house to rent... Thank you Annika!!!"
