  • Great house

"Villa Mas was great. Mike was a nice guy. He met us at the airport to show us how to get to the house. I will give you a breakdown: Pros 1. The house is exactly as pictured 2. AC in all rooms of the house. Including living areas and kitchen. Many houses only have ac in the bedrooms. Watch out for this if you choose another house. It would have been very hot even with the breeze blowing through the house. 3. Beds are very comfortable. 4. Outdoor kitchen and sound system 5. Mike lives next door so if you need anything he is not too far away. 6. The view is great. You can see other islands, mountains and the ocean. 7. Open living areas with current technology. Wifi, flat screen tvs, and modern appliances. 8. Plenty of towels. Beach and house towels. 9. Mike also rents charters on one of his two boats on request for an additional fee. I think it is a little below market price for his guest. We did not use him because we had a friend that lives on the island with a connection . 10. The Marriott did not care if we used their chairs. This may have been seasonal. We were there at low season. The Marriott Frenchman Cove was the beach in front of the house. In my opinion this was the best beach on St Thomas that we went to. Including Magen’s Bay. The food was terrible at the Marriot Cons: 1. We never walked to the beach but looks further than a 5 minute walk. This was common in our search due to the topography of the island. This is one of the one of the closest walks we saw. It is a pretty easy drive but parking is difficult. It is free but there are very few spaces. You can park at the Marriott but it is usually full. Also most of the parking lots have the same entrance and exit meaning you will have to do a lot of backing up if it is full. This happened numerous times on the island. Tips: 1. Bring your own snorkel and mask. 2. Bring cheap blow up floats from the dollar store that you can throw away. 3. The ferry is a little intimidating but the trip to St. John is worth it. 4. We shopped at the Pueblo Market for food. They have almost everything you need except for fresh meats. They have some, but probably not the quality you’re used to in the states. We were here for 4 nights and would not have eaten the hamburger meat on the third night. Get steaks and chicken elsewhere, if possible."

  • Amazing stay at the Blue Sand Castle!

"We just returned from a five night stay at the Blue Sand Castle. Six adults and eight kids under the age of 14 and we had plenty of room. Upon arrival the place was very clean and we were amazed at the view from the pool deck and the balcony. Ingrid and Austin were great hosts and gave us many recommendations on what we should take in on the island and excellent dining options. I would recommend a day spent at Abi beach and a dinner at Fish Tails if you feel like venturing off of the property. They also set us up on a day long boat tour where we stopped at various locations to snorkel with the fish and sea turtles. This was such a great experience for our kids! We did not want to rent vehicles on the island so Ingrid recommended we use their driver Jimmy to take us to and from all of the various activities we wanted to do and he was great as well! I would highly recommend a stay at the Blue Castle!"

"Really fantastic hidden gem in St Thomas. Cozy and out of the way of all of the main traffic but also still close to all of the main attractions in town and convienant to the East end. The view is just fantastic. We will bve back !"

  • Everything we hoped and wanted it to be!

"The location is great. It is between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook which meant we could do things in town or jump over to St Johns (we did both). We also went to Magens Bay which is beautiful but there is also a beach nearby (went there too) which has its own comfortable chairs, a beach with activities and a bar and grille. Of course the house has its own pool which we used a lot and yes it overlooks the water entrance into town and is a spectacular view from the porch or the pool. There was lots of boats to watch coming and going from the town including the cruise ships which were fun to watch. We did use their brand new grill one night to cook in. The house itself has a great open area involving living room, dining room and kitchen which is spacious. Each of the bedrooms had excellent beds and their own bathrooms which is great for multiple couples. The porch has a roof which provides a break from the sun and plenty of chairs. The night sky was very beautiful from the lounge chairs. The pictures on the site are accurate but only provide a glimpse into the beauty of the villa which you will enjoy when you come."
