  • Tropical home away from home

"Traveled with my daughter and 3 grandkids. The villa was comfortable and perfect: 3 FULL bathrooms, full kitchen, 3 TV's, and murphy bed, not to mention a balcony overlooking the bay in each room! We followed Paul's advice - and definitely recommend renting a car. We drove the entire island both in Saint Thomas and Saint John. Beaches were all amazing! Our favorites were Megan's Bay, Lindquist, Trunk Bay, Honeymoon Beach and Cinnamon Bay. Activity Hut staff couldn't have been more helpful. The kids tried paddle boarding and we scheduled a New Horizons day trip which was fabulous. We shopped at Moe's and the Food Center for breakfast items and snacks, and enjoyed double burgers and smoothies on property @ Sangria's. The pool and hot tub were a welcome way to unwind after a full day of driving and beaching (pool bar a hit!) Best pizza EVER at ITP, Duffy's had a great happy hour and Sunset Grille @ Secret Harbour Resort was lovely. The kids wanted to go to Margaritaville, sister property to Elysian so we did fit that in. We had great weather too - in spite of the forecast saying we would have rain every day. It rained at night, and a couple of times for about five minutes. I love that it is part of the US and we will return! Thanks Paul for sharing your villa with us."

  • Top of the Mountain Retreat

"We enjoyed our stay in St. Thomas and our " retreat on top of the mountain". The cottage was clean and well maintained. Any problems were dealt with immediately. There was plenty of cooking supplies, towels, sheets, etc. The washing machine and dryer were a bonus. We enjoyed the porch over looking the bay, and watched the cruise lines and cargo boats come in each day and leave at night. I wished there'd been a telescope so we could see the names of the ships as they sailed by us. We went to the Puelbo supermarket for our food supplies. It was were the locals go, and is off the mountain and near downtown. The customers and cashiers were very accommodating and willing to guide us in finding items. Everyone on the island was willing to help the "tourist". We found the beach at Corky to be the best place to snorkel. They have chairs (for rent), food, and a great beach! Servers even come out to the beach to sell drinks and food. Many offer free drink "tastes". We went so many times that we learned every ones name and, of course, got better service. Red Hook is an area where you get the ferry over to St. John and has a lot of eating and tourist attractions. Tuto is another area where the Walgreens and K-Mart are. Driving on the "wrong" side of the road was a little strange and took concentration! You could always use the "taxis". Iggies is a restaurant near our Mountain Retreat, right on the water offering drinks and good food. Go spend some time on St. Thomas and at the "Mountain Retreat", you will love it!"

  • New Years Perfection

"We are very lucky to celebrate New Years aboard Catalyst this year. This is our 7th return to Catalyst, but this was our first New Year trip. Although some may think "what's left to see or do" , we can honestly say each vacation has been unique and Captain Al has introduced us to new islands, anchorages, dive sites each visit. Captain Al has been here for more than 10 years and his knowledge of the area, history and current going on's is very helpful. He knows all the best places, and the best times to go visit them (to avoid cruise shippers or has weather extra). He is an easy going Captain, let's us change up the day Or direction on the fly, is always willing to seek out one more dive site or activity for us. In terms of the food ... We usually do the half board charter which allows us to feast in Chef Al meals on board and then try out local restaurants on some islands. To be sure, Capatin Al's meals are top notch masterpieces and many of our most memorable meals have been served on Catalyst. The boat itself is a classic Catamaran, with the interior having nice wood work, comfortable spaces. catalyst has all the water toys, snorkel dive gear you will need, big fluffy sun bed on the trampoline and plenty of shady spaces to escape to. Every time we come back the boat is looking better then we remembered,..very well maintained, new upgrades to keep her looking great and modern. This year when we arrived we found a new rattan wicker couch on the front of the boats!! A couch on a boat... That is how much room there is up there. !! Writing this review makes me miss Catalyst and Captain Al so much... We can't wait for our next Adventure!!"

  • Great condo, great view

"We had a great time staying here. The condo is first class, the views from the room are spectacular and the service we received from staff was very good. We came with teenagers and they had a great time as well. Hope to make it back soon"
