  • Paradise Found

"My husband and I selected Villa Eau Claire as our 5 day getaway. Waking up each morning enjoying our balcony view of the peaceful bay left us speechless. We ventured down to the beach each day to enjoy a swim. My husband loves to fish and yes he threw a line in (spin reel in his luggage) and caught a fish. While he fished I enjoyed my book on the dock. We watched stingrays and turtles swim by. You could if you like walk the beach over to Magen's Bay Beach. Our bedroom and Living Room opens up onto the balcony. We left the slider open to enjoy the smell of the sea air and to also hear the sounds of the ocean. To our delight the unit was freshly painted with new furnishings. On our way to the Villa we stopped at a local grocery store and pick up our supplies for our stay. I would recommend renting a car so you can explore the island and towns. We had the privilege to meet Nicole and Doug both. They are the most friendliest individuals you would want to meet. Their joy of tending to your needs (yes I forgot the sunscreen) is a breath of fresh air. We are planning our next trip to Villa Eau Claire with our children."

  • This sailing trip and boat were magic!

"My wife and I were one of two couples who researched sailing charters in the Virgin Islands. Our research that resulted in choosing Magic Inspiration, crewed by Sandy and Jeff, was totally worth it. The trip was the best. We’ve been on Virgin Islands trips before, but have never had such an accommodating crew and such wonderful meals. We chose the all-inclusive meal plan, and had 20 meals in 7 days. Every meal was different and every meal was delicious. The only times when the entire meal was not made in Sandy’s toaster oven were when we had pizzas from Pizza Pi, a sailboat anchored in Christmas Bay (reviewed elsewhere), and when Jeff grilled hamburgers and steaks. Imagine these toaster oven specialties: coconut cream pie, Grand Marnier French toast and sausage, tuna steak and herb rice, sweet potato hash topped with a fried egg, and more! Drinks included unlimited juices, sparkling water, and cocktails, wine, and beer. Jeff made better Pain Killers and Dark and Stormys than any we bought in the USVIs after the trip. Our 7-night sailing ports focused on St. John, Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island, the Indians (ocean rock formations with excellent snorkeling), Peter Island, Norman Island, Marina Cay, Cooper Island, and Great St. James Island. Jeff found ideal snorkeling sites and places where we could noodle float and paddle board. We were lucky, with perfect weather every day, only one brief afternoon shower, and relatively calm seas. Jeff is an accomplished sailor – there’s nothing he can’t handle. Sandy makes a perfect “first mate” when mooring, anchoring, and helping with the sails. AND she is an excellent yoga instructor – twice during the trip, one on land and one on the boat’s trampoline bow. We suggest making your reservations for this boat through VRBO or directly through Sandy (other websites and brokers take too big a cut, in my opinion). One important tip – the Magic Inspiration is plenty big enough for 6 guests and crew. The boat is clean, well-maintained, and Jeff can repair almost anything on the boat that may go wrong. But what made a difference on this boat is the “ventilation ports” in the cabins that allow nighttime breezes to make sleeping more comfortable. We found out later that not all catamarans have such ports. Usually, I find something negative about every hotel and restaurant that I review. This boat comes closest to perfection in sailing, in every way."

  • Exquisite Beach Vacation

"A few years ago, we were introduced to St. Thomas as part of a cruise vacation. Enjoying our brief visit so much, we decided to make the island our vacation destination this time. After researching popular locations and accommodations on St Thomas, we discovered Sapphire Beach and Crystal Cove Condos. Upon contacting the owner of this particular unit and arranging our stay, we were very courteously and thoroughly educated on the specifics of how to best enjoy St. Thomas and Sapphire Beach. Over the years, the owner has painstakingly compiled a comprehensive guide that details attributes of the condo unit, the condo property, Sapphire Beach and St. Thomas and shared it with us prior to our arrival. Not only was the guide useful before arriving - in securing car rental and planning day trips, we carried it with us throughout our stay - locating grocery stores, restaurants, ferries, fishing spots, shopping areas, where to go, where to avoid, etc. The condo, itself, is conveniently located, lovely and far more spacious than the pictures indicate. Given that we arrived after dark, we were grateful that the onsite agent had turned on lights in the unit to welcome us. Our entire stay, we felt completely comfortable and safe in the unit. Plenty of linens, towels, a wonderfully efficient washer/dryer unit, two bathrooms, a fully appointed kitchen, cable tv, comfortable beds and seating and, of paramount importance to our teenage sons, WIFI, made the unit feel like home away from home. Finding appropriate words to describe the view of Sapphire Beach that greets you when you open the door of this unit is difficult. Breath-taking, stunning, surreal come to mind, but don't completely paint the picture. Of all the things we did in St. Thomas, relaxing and playing on Sapphire Beach was our favorite activity. My sons learned to snorkel and witnessed amazing underwater life right off this beach. Kayaks were available just down the beach and if we simply wanted to relax in beach loungers, graciously provided by the Crystal Cove attendant, the water was full of activity to entertain watchers - parasailing, wind surfing - a constant breeze blowing . In our opinion, Sapphire Beach is without equal, truly. We definitely plan to return and would not consider staying anywhere other than this unit. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us, Sandy, and for your great support and assistance in making our vacation memorable."
