  • Spectacular

"We stayed at Liz & Judd's mountain house for 3 nights, which of course was not long enough. The house manager Leticia, met us in Atena & guided us to the house. She was so thorough & patient showing us the house. The house is nicer than the pictures you see online. Everywhere you look, you will find beautiful details. The owners put a lot of effort into their dream home & it shows. I hope that others can see this & respect the work that went into this property. It is so peaceful, relaxing & beautiful, that you never want to leave. There are so many birds around the property, you can sit for hours watching birds! We have never seen a kitchen so well stocked. Again it was another reminder that the owners thought of everything. Although it was hard to leave the house for the day, we went to the Poas Volcano, Catarata del Toro & took the coffee tour (El Toledo). All great things to see & do. The El Toledo tour is extremely informative & we considered it "a must". As far as food, we we tried La Trilla (Peruvian Cheviche is a must) & we had the best pizza ever at La Finca. Our stay at the house was amazing but short. The house is spectacular! We can't wait to return for a longer stay!"

  • Casita in the heavens

"I spent 33 wonderful days at the casita and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and experienced everything from an active volcano, toucans singing in the trees in the front yard, and an occasional falling star at night.  The view as other guests had mentioned was amazing. A grand experience indeed.  The casita is well appointed and a perfect fit for a solo traveler.  My wife did visit for a quick 6 days.  She slept on the pullout couch during her stay and was very comfortable with plenty of soft pillows and covers.  The owner has every pot, pan and utensil you would need. I didn't cook much there as I wanted to experience all the different cuisines that the local Atenas area had to offer.  The shower was perfect with plenty of hot water and a good flow.  The owner was very articulate with directions concerning the washer, Wifi, Netflix, and other items to make your stay easy and comfortable.     I walked down the mountain to the city center from the casita everyday, it is about a 4 mile walk and only once did I walk back to the casita as going up the mountain is very taxing (not bad for a guy pushing 60 in a couple months. lol).  A taxi ride between the casita and city center was about $5 - $6 USD.  I have been to 4 continents and this was my 27th visit to Costa Rica since 2008. I must say that the casita was one of my favorite destinations ever. That is a big statement for sure, but it is true.  Magda, the owner's right hand gal, was and is a very big help when settling into to the casita.  In fact, I tagged along with her to the farmers market a couple of Fridays.  I also went down to have breakfast at her hotel, and she is an excellent cook too.  I want to thank the owner for having me and another big shout out to Magda.  The casita is an excellent means to recharge your batteries.  If you are looking for a very peaceful and tranquil location then I would highly recommend the casita. Pura Vida !!"

  • great house and host!

"Beth's place was a great way to experience CR for the 1st time. She was so good to deal by responding quickly by phone or email. We found the bus stop across the street very handy to get to El Centro. It is a walkable distance too but uphill on the way back so taxis are a better choice! The house is recently built so has all the comforts of a N.Amercian home, with good appliances, lots of plug-ins and good water pressure. We used the BBQ quite a bit and enjoyed sitting in both the front and back yards. The pool is a added benefit for those hot afternoons! Having Beth's property managers across the street was nice too. They had the answers to our questions and some suggestions for the area. Certainly a place to come back to!"

  • This is the place you want to stay in Costa Rica

"The property, pool area, jacuzzi, living spaces, and bedrooms are beautiful, modern and cozy. Spring like weather all year round. Close to Atenas, San José, Alajuela and other interesting places. You will feel safe and will have a spectacular view of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Local food places to eat everywhere at very reasonable prices. Beautiful starry nights, coffee haciendas and nice friendly people will make you feel in paradise."
