  • Truly Amazing

"Simply put, this home is better than it looks! My family is already looking to book again for next year. The home was so clean, and of course amazing views. The caretaker and management made staying here a breeze! Lots of space."

  • Best host ever!

"We stayed at Casa Lantana during January 2017. The town of Atenas was inviting and easy to navigate. Hisano, our host, greeted us and helped us get everything into the rental house. She then took us to town to show us where everything was. And she took us into the grocery to make sure we were able to navigate and to help us translate package labels. We've traveled through Asia, Europe, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, and the south Pacific. We have never had the attention and service that we received here from Hisano and her son, Mikel. Three of her rental locations welcomed new people at about the same time. To make us feel welcome and to introduce us to one another, she prepared a welcome dinner for us. She and her mother hosted our delightful evening and we were able to meet other travelers that we spent time with later in our stay. The property is beautiful with a variety of trees and plantings -- including a banana-type tree and a tangerine tree -- we got to share in the bounty of both. Every 4 or 5 days a bag of tangerines would arrive. And Hisano brought us fried banana-type fruit when she made them. The house we stayed in had plenty of space and everything we needed. We asked for additional pillows and another fan. Hisano not only got them for us, she made the pillows. Her personal touch made each day of our stay remarkable. She typically stopped in each day to see how we were doing and to see if there was anything we needed. She helped us decide where to eat, where to shop, where to tour, and how to travel by public transportation. If she was going to town, she'd typically ask if we'd like to go or if she could get us anything. Her generosity was remarkable. We felt totally spoiled. It was wonderful. I hope other travelers get to meet Hisano and stay at Casa De Megumi. Staying there was a blessing for us."

  • loved the house, loved the setting

"We stayed at the Bamboo House for a month. Loved the home for its views, cleanliness, and amenities. We saw toucans almost everyday, several motmots and on one occasion a monkey. The heated pool was wonderful for an afternoon of floating and taking in the Costa Rican sun. You feel very secure behind two gates, though we have been to Costa Rica for the last 5 years and feel safer there than in the US sometimes. The house provides you with everything you need: Beds were comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water and house cleaning everyweek. The Atenas area is a great place to locate because of its central location to almost everything. Thank you to Andrew for his great help and commitment to our comfort. And thank you Andrew for telling us to head to Playa Blanco. You absolutely must visit this gem. Does not get much attention from tourists but is the most beautiful WHITE sandy beach we have seen in the central area. Water is crystal clear. Tons of monkeys, scarlet macaws by the dozens and toucan. Only 1 hour from Atenas and closer than Jaco. Again we loved our month and will be back next year."

  • Clean, Comfortable, Enjoyable, Relaxing

"We booked some nights at the condo just to get away for a few days. We had some friends who had worked with Paolo before and had stayed at this location and enjoyed it, so we contacted him and began the process. Paolo was extremely friendly and easy to work with. The booking process was smooth and seamless, with lots of information about the property and the area (I believe he directed us to their website which accurately represents the property). After booking, we received all the information we needed to enjoy our stay - maps to the location, taxi or bus directions if we needed them, check-in process, etc. The map especially was very accurate and easy to follow. The property itself was very comfortable. My wife and I especially enjoyed sitting out on the balcony for breakfast and looking over the property and out at the mountains. And as a bonus, the bed was very comfortable - not always the case, as we all know! We also cooked a few meals there, and always found what we needed to prepare the food - the kitchen was well-stocked for our needs and appeared to have everything you would want in a kitchen. Oh, and the wifi worked great for anything we used it for (streaming a couple of movies, etc.). We tried out one of the restaurants nearby and found it to be excellent (our friends tried out one of the other ones and said it was really good as well, but other plans meant that we didn´t end up getting to sample any of the others). It was a nice refreshing walk to the restaurants. We also stopped by the Vindi (convenience store) and got everything we needed for breakfasts and snacks (that's all we looked for there). So, all told, it was a great experience, and we would definitely go back again or recommend it to others. Thanks, Paolo!"
