"We stayed at Casa Lantana during January 2017. The town of Atenas was inviting and easy to navigate. Hisano, our host, greeted us and helped us get everything into the rental house. She then took us to town to show us where everything was. And she took us into the grocery to make sure we were able to navigate and to help us translate package labels. We've traveled through Asia, Europe, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, and the south Pacific. We have never had the attention and service that we received here from Hisano and her son, Mikel.
Three of her rental locations welcomed new people at about the same time. To make us feel welcome and to introduce us to one another, she prepared a welcome dinner for us. She and her mother hosted our delightful evening and we were able to meet other travelers that we spent time with later in our stay.
The property is beautiful with a variety of trees and plantings -- including a banana-type tree and a tangerine tree -- we got to share in the bounty of both. Every 4 or 5 days a bag of tangerines would arrive. And Hisano brought us fried banana-type fruit when she made them.
The house we stayed in had plenty of space and everything we needed. We asked for additional pillows and another fan. Hisano not only got them for us, she made the pillows. Her personal touch made each day of our stay remarkable. She typically stopped in each day to see how we were doing and to see if there was anything we needed.
She helped us decide where to eat, where to shop, where to tour, and how to travel by public transportation. If she was going to town, she'd typically ask if we'd like to go or if she could get us anything. Her generosity was remarkable. We felt totally spoiled. It was wonderful.
I hope other travelers get to meet Hisano and stay at Casa De Megumi. Staying there was a blessing for us."
