  • Jungle to View

"This was the third place we stayed out of four on our Costa Rican vacation. The weather is cooler than on the coasts, we felt we should have brought more people, the place is large and very comfortable, everything you would need. The views are spectacular! Our stay included breakfast and these we delivered on time and were great. We were also invited for a family meal that was out of this world. This family is very friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate their guests needs. They offer several packages (we were only able to do the farm tour, great). We would recommend writing a explanation of the packages so guest could look them over at their leisure, may inspire more bookings, or even send your future guests an email with these activities so they can be arranged in advance. My husband and I had a great experience here and if we go back to Costa Rica would like to stay again."

"My husband and I spent our 5 year Anniversary at the villa. It was everything we'd hoped for and more. Steve and Nancy are the most lovely and gracious hosts, from fresh baked breads, to letting us tag along to the farmers market and showing us around the valley. We enjoyed simply sitting and having conversations. The gardens are spectacular, and the dogs are always up to accompany you on a walk. They are a great group of fur friends. Our favorite was Sophie, but they all won a special place in our hearts. The Orosi Valley is truly paradise. The local Costa Rican's were all welcoming and friendly, and the overall vibe of the area is a positive one. We will be back!! ~Kristen and Walter~"

  • Calm Paradise

"We stayed 4 days in this beautiful house. It was in perfect distance to different sightseeing tours at valle central, if you have a car. We made tours to Orosi, Lake Cachi, Volcan Irazu, Lankaster Gardens and Caffe Christina (coffee tour). After all these sightseeings we were glad to come back and relax on the terrasse with its view over the valley and drink a beer or a nice glas of wine. We always made dinner and ate on the terrasse. The equipment was just great, the beds comortable and each room had its own bathroom with shower. Heriberto the caretaker was so lovely and by the time we were there, he had new born dogbabies ... The kids loved them ... All in all we really can recommend this place! Pura Vida!"

  • Rainforest Adventure

"A written or pictorial description of the mountain property overlooking the Turrialba valley cannot prepare visitors for the expansive view from Nature's Hideaway. You never tire of the vista and the tiny cars and houses silently existing down in the faraway valley. We were always taking pictures of the valley and surrounding forests even though we took the same picture the day before thinking the sunlight gave a clearer image. Although nature is at its finest from this mountainside location, the highlight of the trip was the people who live there. Henry and Krissia along with their two children are the perfect hosts preparing meals, giving directions and suggestions for whatever your purpose may be. Family ties are a priority in Costa Rica and they are an example of a loving family which you will enjoy being a witness as you come and go during your sightseeing stay. The owner Libby returned every email in a timely manner and answered questions with suggestions on how to solve transportation problems and directions. We adjusted our dates and people making the trip and she refunded money due and cooperated with our changing trip. She even offered the help of family members to accompany us if we had to drive at night. Do plan to travel during the day as the unmarked roads can be challenging and unlit. My Peace Corp daughter had responsibilities in the Cartago area requiring trips back and forth which we traveled on three different routes (road 10, road 230, road 225). Each drive was an adventure of landscape beauty, friendly people, mountain living, and agrarian lifestyles featuring diverse local foods and water ways with single lane bridges. When you go, give our regards to Henry, Krissia, Jemanen, Julian . Mel and Carleen"
