  • A very special trip!

"We just came back from a wonderful time in Nosara! Casa Madera Mar is a beautiful home and in a great location/proximity to a gorgeous stretch of beach. Just a short stroll to incredible beach sunsets and tide pools. Having the pool to cool off in was perfect. The kids loved the "ring toss" game and ping pong. We felt very safe with the friendly security guards, who would make sure we got home when walking in the dark. We had visits of Howler monkeys, armadillos, raccoons, green parakeets, and there was even an anteater up in the tree in front of the house. So much to do right in Nosara. Don't miss La Luna, a delicious beautiful restaurant the next beach north of Guiones. Tico Nosara Surf shop was the best for board rentals and surf info/lessons. The local people were so lovely and genuinely sweet!"

  • Perfect for Two

"We loved our stay at this house. We were able to walk to the beach (even with large surfboards) as well as walk to various stores and restaurants. Great location. The jungle view off of the back porch was amazing and we saw a lot of monkeys and iguanas right from there. The hammock and boards were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was very secure and the owner and managers of the house were all very helpful. If we ever make it back to Costa Rica we would definitely stay here again."

  • Exceptional home! Don't second guess-just book it:-).

"Tom & Maria have a gorgeous property & this home is by far, the most favorite VRBO rental I have ever stayed at. The three bedroom home is simply stunning with great vistas of Lake Arenal. The home is in beautifully maintained & we truly enjoyed our stay. Maria & Tom were so helpful in planning our excursions & put up with our indecisiveness on which excursions would work for our family. There just aren't enough adjectives to describe the beauty of their property, the home, the views & the loveliness of the locals we met on our trip. While we enjoyed our visit to the beaches of Costa Rica, their Arenal home was our favorite on our 11 day trip. If there is any downside to the location, it would be it's a bit of a drive to some of the activities we did closer to La Fortuna but we really didn't see it as a big disadvantage. We enjoyed the spas at Tabacon the most and the breakfast spot, Cafe y Macadamia, was amazing. Great views, great breakfasts - a nice fit with our lovely stay with Tom & Maria."

  • "We're kinda staying at a mansion"

"Our group of 10 loved Villa Bellitza. When invited to stay out at a beach party, one member of our group said, "No thanks, I'm kinda staying at a mansion." Most people in our crew surfed throughout the day, and the private jungle path to the beach was an asset. No coordination necessary. Want to surf? Walk down the path, and you're there. On the path we saw monkeys and crabs. At the house, we had visitors including iguanas, a coati, raccoons, armadillos, and birds. The house has plenty of room to spread out, hide from the sun, and hide from one another if necessary. Also, the plethora of outdoor seating and an inviting pool area drew the majority of the crew throughout the day. I didn't think the pool would be important. It was. It is HOT in the middle of the day, and the pool was the lifeline. Town water shortages meant that water was turned off from about 6pm-7am, but you get used to it. Tried to sleep without using the A.C. but eventually caved. The A.C.s do a decent job cooling down the rooms, but especially the downstairs of the junior suite. House is walkable to a variety of restaurants and bars, and makes for a fantastic home base. On a couple of days, I never left "the compound." Ed is a great property manager who helped us to coordinate a chef for the group - meals for the group of 10 were $100 (chicken meal) and $120 (fish) - definitely recommended."
