  • Nice condo in a quiet location in Tamarindo

"We had a great week in Tamarindo. The condo was exactly as shown on the picture and as described. The property (Los Suenos II) is also very nice, quiet and well maintained. It actually looks even better than the pictures! It is a 5-minutes walk to the closest restaurants/bars, 10-minutes to the main street and the closest grocery store and 15-minutes to the beach. We travelled with our 3 and 5 year old and brought a large double stroller which was the best way to travel from the condo to the beach and carry all of our stuff on the rocky, uneven roads. The onsite management team was not the best we have seen. We received arrival information from the property manager, Rosa, but she was not there when we arrived. It took us a few minutes to figure out who was the security guard on site who was supposed to have the keys. She never tried to make contact with us while we were there. Her husband, the groundskeeper, tried to have an air conditioning unit installed at the house on our second-last day while the kids were napping. The condo has a well-equipped kitchen (no microwave or oven, but we did not need those). There was none of the basics (salt, sugar, dish soap, laudry soap, garbage bags, etc), so make sure you bring them or buy them when you get there. They had towels (5) for showers, but you need to bring your own beach towels. Tamarindo has a very nice beach. Perfect for kids. It also has lots and lots of delicious restaurants. All the ones we tried were great!"

  • Casa de los Buenos in Costa Rica

"Since we were new to Costa Rica, we let LuxeBae hand pick our luxury villa and went with all their suggestions. Casa De Los Suenos was absolutely perfect for us! It’s located in the neighborhood of Hermosa Heights, Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica which is only a short 30 minute drive from Liberia International Airport and 5 minutes from the beach. It has 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms and sleeps a total of 6 people. The star attraction is the double edge infinity pool overlooking the ocean. STUNNING views! You can see more pictures and take a virtual tour by clicking here. Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste is the Gold Coast of Costa Rica. It is beautiful yet still untouched by commercialism. It’s perfect for an extended stay or even a 5-7 day vacation. Consider taking the family for Thanksgiving, over the holiday break, spring break or just to get away with your significant other. Planning a vacation for your entire family or several families? This is the perfect spot and villa!"

  • The best of both worlds - Live like a local while having the safety typically afforded.

"My family and I stayed here for the Christmas 2017 holiday. We loved the home like feeling of the units, which provided us the opportunity to live like the locals. The short walk to the beach was enjoyable and permitted us to feel isolated from the resort environments (If I wanted to hang out with more Americans on the beach, I'd head to Florida!). The community swimming pool was never crowded and always clean. Corby was a joy to work with. I only subtracted one star, as the units need some maintenance (i.e., fridge, stovetop, etc.) to be fully functional, but they were appropriate for our week long holiday. On another note, I highly recommend avoiding booking with Greddy Rojas Mena (of Sunset Hermosa), who is apt to approach you when you enter the beach; his small building is to the immediate right of the beach's entrance. Greddy offers multiple outdoor adventures including fishing, snorkeling, jet skiing, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and horse back riding. We booked a two-hour horseback ride for a party of five, during which we were promised beach and mountain vistas. After payment, Greddy informed us that the horseback ride left from an adjacent beach which required car transport. Luckily, we had rented a car and were able to accommodate. Our "tour" left from someone's personal property, on poorly cared for horses, and went through the neighborhood pathways. At no point did we see mountains nor a beach! To top it off, the guide ended the tour after exactly one hour, without explanation or accommodation when we explained we had paid for two hours. As Greddy was the booker of our tour, we discussed the issue with him. He was unwilling to refund any money, instead placing the blame on the horse owner (i.e., Alonso Fallsasl). Our group was immensely disappointed with the whole experience. While Sunset Hermosa may have made profit on this transaction, they were not wise, as the lost our repeat business. I would highly recommend taking your business to another provider."

  • Flying H Villa - Pura Vida

"This villa and the surrounding property are stunning - exactly as shown on the website, and it has all the amenities to make you feel at home. Verda and Neil are amazing hosts, and provided lots of helpful information before and during our stay. We stayed for one week and managed quite well without renting a vehicle, although after assimilating to the area, a vehicle may have been nice for a couple days. However Jackie and Cesar in the office, were great to book excursions for us that picked us up right at the villa. We booked personal transit from the airport to the villa in advance, and made arrangements with them to stop at a grocery store on the way, ready with a list to get groceries for the week - Auto Mercado is a fairly new grocery store and had everything we needed. Villa 1 is ideally located oceanfront and right next to the infinity pool that overlooks the bay, and the Picante restaurant. Meals were very good at the Picante, and we also enjoyed live entertainment and dancing there on Wednesday evening. We walked to Father Rooster Restaurant (about twenty minutes), which was very good as well. Taxi rides to the small town of Playa Coco are $10 each way for shopping or restaurants. We were awakened every morning by the sound of howler monkeys, and did see them in the trees next door on occasion. We were also fortunate to see whales spouting and jumping in the bay right in front of the villa. The magpie Jays right at the villa are very friendly, but will be your guests for the week if you feed them. Hermit crabs can be seen with a flashlight on the beach, by the rocks after dark. Lots of entertaining wildlife! Wouldn't hesitate to return!"
