  • The photos do not do it justice!

"We just returned from 7 wonderful days at La Joya Bella. Everything about the house was fantastic. It had four separate en suites, each with a great view and it was the perfect size for our group of six people, allowing each couple privacy. The best feature is the pool, in fact it was so great we spent three days just enjoying the pool and the view. Most evenings were spent watching the spectacular sunsets from the pool. The interior is comfortable and well equipped. I fell in love with the bedroom doors - carved features identifying each room. There is a lovely courtyard with an outdoor shower and water feature. I can not say enough about how wonderful the property management company was during our stay. They helped to arrange a private chef for a delicious birthday dinner, two massage therapists for a relaxing girls day, the tour group and went above & beyond to help us when we lost the keys to the rental car. Overall this was one of the best vacations I have ever had!!!"

  • Paradise in Playa Grande

"We just returned from Casa de Vre ... it was so hard to leave! The house was amazing and the views were incredible. We literally rolled out of bed and onto the beach each morning. The surfers among us enjoyed perfect waves for hours at a time right out front while the kids went for long walks, chased crabs, and played in the surf. The pool was perfect for an afternoon respite and the outdoor showers were an unexpected bonus. Morning coffee in the hammocks and evening "sundowners" on the beach are a must. The staff were outstanding: Don David made us feel safe at night; Randy brought us fresh coconuts; and Zulma made us the most delicious lunch. Everyone at Frijoles surf shop (walking distance from the house) was really friendly and helpful. Stop by Cafe Mar Azul for delicious food and the coldest beers in Playa Grande. A great time was had by all ... we can't wait to go back!"

  • Loved the condo.

"This condo was perfect for us! There were four of us, my husband and two grown kids (18 and 21). Although we did not spend much time in the condo, there was plenty of room and privacy. Having a washer/dryer is a dream, we could have packed way less than we did. The kitchen is wonderful, very clean, and while we did not cook we had coffee and breakfast items, which saved a little hassle and money. We booked a couple of trips through the hotel (zip lining and river cruise). Definitely take a look at the guest book, you will get lots of ideas where to go. Our favorites were Green Papaya, Dragonfly and Seasons. We took a trip to Playa Avellana and ate at Lola's -- great food there, and beautiful beach. Make sure you check hours and payment before going to some places -- Lola's was not open for dinner, Season's doesn't take credit cards, Green Papaya is closed on Mondays. As someone said the WIFI isn't too strong but it is available and you don't really want to be online too much. We saw lots of monkeys on the property and off, and parrots in the early morning (off the property). Neil (the owner) and Katia (from the property management company) were very helpful and responsive."

  • Perfect relaxing retreat

"We had a wonderful time during our three week stay in Samara. We were a family of four, with two teenagers. The condo was absolutely perfect for our needs--plenty of space with an open layout, a ten minute walk to two different beaches (Carillo and Samara), everything we needed to cook, and a huge DVD and book collection for rainy periods and the early nightfall. Plus we got to watch troops of howler monkeys on two different occasions in the trees across from the outdoor patio and around the pool! (Being on the second floor is perfect for bird and monkey watching, and the views of the surrounding hills and sunsets are spectacular.) Both the kayaking to the Isla Chora and the zipline company are also in walking distance, and the pool was perfectly maintained--nice for hot days! Since we had such a long stay, we rented a car, and the drive into Samara is only a few minutes and the road is great. That was not true of other properties in the area that we had considered--so glad we went with this one. Dean and the property manager, Laura, had great suggestions and were quick to respond to any of our needs or questions."
