  • You will love it!

"Beautiful and quiet, kept up place with breathtaking views! 24 hour security. My kids love the infinity pool, they started and ended the day with the pool. I was looking for something under a $100 and with a great view and a nice pool and I got it! Hermosa Beach is only 10-15 min away and is the nicest beach around. At Playa del Coco we did Marlin del Rey catamaran tour which was $85 pp for a 5 hour tour, totally worth it. Also we went to El Viejo Wetlands by ourselves (it's cheaper this way), had a Tempisque river boat tour with a nice lunch and wine at their beautiful restaurant. Try gelato at Playa del Coco, it's soooo good! also, Flamingo Beach is a must see!"

  • Beautiful & Romantic

"The condo: This condo is so beautiful and romantic! My boyfriend and i had the most incredible time staying there. The condo is on the second floor, just a stones throw away from a small semi-private beach. The balcony is nestled in the palm trees and feels super tropical and private with the ocean completing the stunning view. We definitely took full advantage of the wifi to post pictures of that gorgeous view to Instagram and Snapchat haha. There is a table and two super comfy lounge chairs to enjoy the view from. We had breakfast and coffee on our balcony several times and it was absolutely wonderful! The living room has a couple of really comfortable recliners and a smart TV. On a few nights when we were exhausted from our adventures, we happily relaxed in the recliners and watched Netflix on the Smart TV! The AC works perfectly and it was so nice to come home to a cool condo after a day of running around. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! It is mostly marble and much more modern than I ever expected. It came fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. and even had a blender to make pina coladas for my beach cup! There is also a traditional Costa Rican drip coffee maker and it made some of the best coffee I've ever had. The master bedroom is HUGE and was so comfortable! Since the little beach is so close, you can hear the waves crashing at night. I usually have trouble falling asleep, but the sound of the waves was so soothing... we have never slept better. We woke up so refreshed in the mornings too! There is plenty of storage space in the closet and they have a safe for your passports and valuables. We didn't use the other bedroom or bathroom, but they looked nice. I was (weirdly) excited about having a washing machine and a dryer because I didn't have to pack as much. I also tracked sand in the bed once and was glad I could wash the sheets. The area: Flamingof Beach is just a short walk down the hill. BEST. SUNSET. EVER. There is a little Plaza at the bottom of the hill with a few good restaurants. Marie's has a great breakfast and Angelina's has the best burger I've ever tasted. My absolute favorite place to eat, drink, and hang out was Las Catalinas. It's just a short drive through Potrero, but it is totally worth it. I think we went there about 6 times in a 9 day trip."

  • Manage expectations and you'll like it

"First the good: the view is spectacular, and no photos do it any justice. The view, the pool, the location close to so many great beaches all make this a great place to day trip and see the Guanacaste area, provided you have a car. 4WD recommended, but not essential. The pool was great! My 6 year old daughter went from tentative swimmer to a fish in 6 days, and her swimming instructors couldn't believe it. Nice views, comfy beds (with a caveat below), and a tasteful decor. For 3 of us, it was the right size. Now the bad: first of all, the owner disappeared about two weeks before our arrival. I wrote several times asking for directions, etc. and no reply. Only when I was already in Costa Rica and filled out the form for prospective renters did I get a reply, the night before our arrival. Personally I don't like to travel this way. Maybe I've a lot to learn about "Pura Vida." As I said, the place has a great view, but is poorly equipped for someone with experience staying in VRBO properties. With so many photos of the kitchen and guests dining on the patio, I expected more. The kitchen is stocked as if a bachelor lived there - more George Foreman grills than wine glasses, and that's no exaggeration. There is basically one set of dishes, matching coffee mugs, some silverware and not much else. As someone who likes to cook I was extremely disappointed with so barren a kitchen. No mixing bowls, no potato peeler, no measuring cups, nothing even the most basic of kitchens would have to make a decent scratch meal. No spices, not even salt and pepper. I'd have gladly traded the cute welcome flashlights for a few spices and essential kitchen tools. Carlos was mostly helpful, but it always seemed like asking him for something was a little inconvenient for him. We did not realize that once we went through the stocked two rolls of toilet paper we'd have to buy our own. The Wifi was on and off; this must have impacted Carlos as well, as this was the one problem we had that carried a certain sense of urgency. That said, the TV was nice, and I encouraged our girl to watch her favorite cartoons in Spanish. No bedspreads on the bed. Just a topsheet. Hope that suits you cause that's all you get. And the poolside grill? Just a piece of aluminum grating. Seriously, another $300 on some more essentials and this place would rock; maybe the current renovation will help. I'm ranking at 3.5 stars; round it up to 4 only for the view and the pool."

  • A True Paradise, You Never Want To Leave

"The moment I walked through the door of this beautiful condo, I knew I was in the most perfect place I have ever vacationed. It was so spacious, beautifully furnished, including a kitchen with everything needed. looking out the glass doors was a patio, with a large table and comfortable chairs, where we enjoyed having our breakfast every morning the gardens around us were like being in Eden. Across the well maintained grounds was a beautiful lagoon pool with swim up bar. The security was excellent too, which means everything today! The beach is across the street, the best restaurants, and shopping are in walking distance. I have traveled throughout the world, and stayed in many beautiful condos, but I must say this is a favorite! I will plan to travel to Costa Rica again, and will only stay in this rental, and have already recommended it to all my family and friends! Patti Russell, San Antonio, Texas"
