  • Just fabulous!

"Our 2nd year staying at this lovely property...great amenities, especially if you like to cook; well appointed, everything you need. Many quiet evenings on the back patio grilling dinner with a beautiful view of the lake. The property manager, Joannie, was extremely friendly and helpful, and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants. She was very available. The owner Pat, as always prompt in returning messages and giving ideas for day trips. This house is just as represented. We had a terrific time!"

  • Fantastic views in the Cloud Forests of Costa Rica overlooking beautiful lake Arenal and volcano!

"If you are looking for a tourist trap, club oriented vacation- read no further. But if you are looking for absolutely breath taking views - Volcano, mountain lake, tropical birds - then this is paradise! You need to rent a car that can travel the scenic back roads (non-paved, cut through the beautiful countryside) to get to this unbelievable retreat from the tourist traps and city life. Morning breakfast on the back deck provided constant company of Parrots, Toucans, and all sorts of colorful tropical birds flying past and keeping us company. The house over looked beautiful lake Arenal and beautiful mountainside. Out the front porch you got a magnificent view of the volcano- still steaming and creating a clouded top hat at the very peak. But of course, we were within driving distance to national parks, cloud forest hiking trails with suspended walking bridges high in the jungle canopy, hummingbird gardens, jungle tree top zip lines, and of course- the friendly locals. Try your Spanish out and they will try their English. It was fun and of course, try some of the local eateries- great Costa Rican foods at great prices. Of course you are also not so far from the touristy places to visit like the many Spas around the volcano, boat rides on the lake, sailing, fishing, and Euro style eateries and hotels... but we enjoyed our secluded mountain retreat in the mornings and evenings- and then headed out to visit the many opportunities to see really cool sites and local happenings."

  • Magical Christmas Stay in the Cloud Forest

"Wow! What a place! This home really is amazing and an incredible way to experience the cloud forest and the rain forest. We arrived on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a relaxing week there. The home is beautiful, airy and very clean. The views are incredible and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with exotic flowers and walking paths (nice job, Michael!) There were five of us and we never felt crowded. The bedrooms are comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and linens to keep us cozy. The rain absolutely pours up there but it isn't cold. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook a number of meals there. The bath is large and the double sink and stone shower give it a spa-like feeling. The only drawback was not having a washer/dryer (though we learned having that seems to be a great luxury in Costa Rica. (We took our laundry into La Fortuna and found a very reasonable laundry service at the entrance of town.) The owner, Michael, was very helpful and gave us suggestions for outings. If you stay and are going to La Fortuna, , ask him for directions using the back road. It is definitely 4-wheel drive, but saves you lots of time. Nuevo Arenal was about 20 minutes from the house; La Fortuna was about 1:15. The house was gated and in a beautiful development. We always felt very safe. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to any friends or family. It is really a hidden gem in an already incredible area."

  • Nice home by the lake

"Very nice home. Had everything we were looking for in a nice quiet location by the lake. Served as a base for travel to the Arenal volcano and Montverde, and a quiet place to enjoy the evenings listening to the birds. Two green parrots were regular visitors. Couple little things like safe not working and 1 air conditioner not working but overall would recommend the home. Directions to the house need to be updated - had difficulty finding it. Yacht club and hotel are no longer open. Property Manager Pablo was helpful in providing information on attractions in the area."
