  • Stunning property! A great place for everyone.

"My wife, 3 kids and my parents just returned from Costa Rica and the highlight of our trip was staying at Villa Encantada. The house and grounds are simply amazing and will leave you wishing you had more time. We stayed for 4 nights and could have easily spent 7. The best bird watching was on the property with many types of jays and toucans eating at the feeder. Everyone enjoyed the pools and the 100 foot water slide. 5 star properties also have 5 star owners and Glenn is the most welcoming and helpful owner. He was like a personal concierge arranging our tours and giving us maps to the places we are going since the roads in Costa Rica are not well marked. He even put up a fence around the patio so that my 2 year old could not run off into the pool or pond. All members of my traveling party from my 70 year old dad to my 2 year old son thoroughly enjoyed Villa Encantada. All of us can't wait to go back."

  • Incredible view and huge home with many amenities

"This property was in a beautiful location with an incredible view! We rented the entire home and had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenage girls. We used the hot tub/jacuzzi every day and ate many meals and snacks in the kitchen. We used all of the room and spent time reading and relaxing on the veranda. It wasn't clear when I first booked the place that the washer /dryer was on the property but was not available for renters to use on their own. There was an extra charge for having someone do laundry for you. The hike at the national park/ near the volcano was gorgeous and was my favorite part of the trip. My kids really liked the local tubing trip. We did not find a need for air conditioning as it was relatively cool when we were there."

  • Costa Rican PARADISE!!!

"We absolutely loved staying at this lake house!!! When we arrived to the house, we were blown away by the view. The lake view is breathtaking. The house has tons of windows to enjoy the view from all angles, plus a huge wrap-around patio with 4 rocking chairs to just slow down and relax. This is a great home to stay in if you need a break from the chaotic, busy-life that most of us are living in the states. We all felt so rejuvenated after our stay at this house. We did spend the day at the Tabacon Hot Springs in Fortuna, which I highly recommend! And we had the best meal of our lives at The Gingerbread with Chef Eyal. Truly, it was the perfect start to our Costa Rican vacation. We will definitely be back!!!"

  • Magical Christmas Stay in the Cloud Forest

"Wow! What a place! This home really is amazing and an incredible way to experience the cloud forest and the rain forest. We arrived on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a relaxing week there. The home is beautiful, airy and very clean. The views are incredible and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with exotic flowers and walking paths (nice job, Michael!) There were five of us and we never felt crowded. The bedrooms are comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and linens to keep us cozy. The rain absolutely pours up there but it isn't cold. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook a number of meals there. The bath is large and the double sink and stone shower give it a spa-like feeling. The only drawback was not having a washer/dryer (though we learned having that seems to be a great luxury in Costa Rica. (We took our laundry into La Fortuna and found a very reasonable laundry service at the entrance of town.) The owner, Michael, was very helpful and gave us suggestions for outings. If you stay and are going to La Fortuna, , ask him for directions using the back road. It is definitely 4-wheel drive, but saves you lots of time. Nuevo Arenal was about 20 minutes from the house; La Fortuna was about 1:15. The house was gated and in a beautiful development. We always felt very safe. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to any friends or family. It is really a hidden gem in an already incredible area."
