  • Very nice and great view.

"Wish they had AC. Also bring slippers as it's dusty during the dry season and the floors are somewhat dirty."

  • Absolutely unforgettable experience !!!

"We had a FANTASTIC time at Tom’s and Maria’s villa. What a wonderful and kind people! They were always ready to help and answer any questions we had. I was corresponding with Tom by email before we arrived and he was always answering all my questions very thorough and promptly! When we arrived, Tom gave us a map of the area and showed us where all the good restaurants were, as well as supermarkets, bank, gas station, etc. Maria told us about the weekly BBQ cookouts in town on Fridays which we attended and had a blast! All of the restaurants we’ve visited that Tom recommended were delicious!!! The property is absolutely beautiful! The villas are gorgeous! There were 4 of us(2 adults and 2 children) and we stayed at the Casa Primera, while our friends stayed at the Casa Grande. Our kids loved the pool. They spend a lot of time there. If you sit by the pool when the sun goes down, you can see toucans on the trees around you. We also went a few time times to our friends (at the villa Grande) Jacuzzi. We loved how the villas were decorated inside! Everything inside was spotless. The cleaning ladies came every other day and did a wonderful job as well! We kept our windows open(there are nets on every window). It’s an amazing experience to hear monkeys, frogs, and different birds while having breakfast in the morning or going to bed at night. While in Costa Rica, we did zip lining (it was a blast), went to Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna, and spend a whole day at the hot springs in Tabacon! What a beautiful country with very warm people! Would absolutely love to come back!"

  • Paradise! Perfect for kids!

"I'm afraid this review is just going to be a repeat of the others, but the details bear repeating! This place is just beyond amazing. We are typically pretty frugal travelers, but when I saw the pictures of this place, I knew it was going to be well worth the splurge, and it absolutely was! We spent five nights out of our trip at VE; I had every day planned with activities, but the moment we arrived we abandoned many of our plans just to have more time at the villa. Everything in CR was pretty pricey, so this place ended up being a bargain with everything that we could do there for free. We hiked trails, played in waterfalls, collected and painted rocks (the owner's wife has beautiful painted rocks all over the property, and they have paint at the house to make your own!), fished, kayaked, swam in the pool (kids loved the slide, it was very fast!), picked the sweetest bananas for breakfast each morning, walked (5 min) to Lake Arenal, watched dozens of birds, including parrots and toucans, monkeys, etc right in the yard. These are things that we did all over CR on our 10 day trip, it was just so amazing to be able to do them right there at the house! The grounds were just astoundingly beautiful. The house has 3 bedrooms and then a loft with 3 more beds (2 twins and 1 full). There were also 3 bathrooms, so there was plenty of room for us. Everything is just so nice; the architecture, the views, the furniture and artwork, etc. There were board games and some movies that the kids enjoyed late at night before bed. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a VRBO property. There are plenty of towels and linens, they provided laundry detergent, paper towels, and those kinds of things that most rentals don't. Glen provided a wealth of information prior to our arrival, and his directions were most welcome in a country without addresses. I was having some trouble booking a couple of activities (trying to coordinate our family splitting up with only one car), so I asked him for help... He booked everything for us with the greatest companies and even got us a discount. He checked on us several times but was not intrusive. We luckily did not need him, but I felt completely comfortable calling him for anything if we did need him! We have already been talking about returning to this villa again, it's perfect for day trips or just staying put. I cannot fathom anyone not loving this place!"

"I wish I could leave pictures of the sunsets over the lake. We would eat some of our meals on the deck. Birds abound making photography so easy. Ricardo has been a joy to work with. We went to the San Antonio Christian Church on Sunday an American service {8:45} and received two invites to members homes making awesome connections in this beautiful country. My soul feels so restored after staying at this mountain resort for a week. Each and every recommendation Ricardo gave us was PERFECT! I can only pray I can go back. Thank you Ricardo and Franklin too."
