  • Tropical Paradise!

"We were delighted to stay in this lovely home. From day one we shared the outdoor space with monkeys, toucans and many species of beautiful birds. The lake view and access were priceless. This was home, only better! At home we don't get a great property manager, cleaning service and grounds-keeping. I highly recommend this as a place for privacy and relaxation. There were so many day trips to take to preserves, volcanoes, outdoor activities, sanctuaries, resorts and beaches. We've traveled many places in the world, but none more gorgeous, gracious and well-appointed."

  • Great house, great views & wonderful hosts.

"Our family of four recently stayed 4 nights at the Lake Arenal guesthouse. It was a perfect setting. The guesthouse has ample space, but we only needed to use the bottom floor. It is well equipped for cooking and has a washer/dryer which is great if you have kids. The grounds and trails around the property are amazing and make it easy for exploring without having to drive anywhere. Our children, ages 6 &9, loved playing in the natural pools and small waterfall while listening for the howler monkeys. It is a very safe place while being a convenient point from which to explore the Lake Arenal area. Our hosts, Michael & Sandy were very generous and we enjoyed sharing our common interests. We would definitely return and highly recommend."

  • Tropical Gardens with lake view

"Casa Bella Vista is set at the top of the property which is in a beautiful tropical garden that is private and gated. The gardens are lush with tropical plants and fruits and and varied array of birds and butterflies. Tom and Maria are most helpful and will give recommendations on your requests. Maria was able to a book ziplining tour for us at a discounted price and must do for anyone who would love an incredible view of the rainforest. The villa has a small kitchen where you can prepare simple meals with groceries from the town about a 20 minute drive away. It is a great location away from the crowds but close enough to use as a home base for northern Costa Rica."

  • June 2016 Summer Vacation

"We arrived at the property to find it manicured with thick grass, beautiful blooming flowers and mature trees. Once inside the home it was clean, comfortable and inviting. This was a family reunion (4 couples) and there was more than enough room for all of us to have our own space, yet still have enough large common areas to "hang out" with room to spare. Anyone who appreciates a pool will fall in love with this one! It is huge, warm and what a view. There is also a veranda off of the 2nd floor with an AMAZING view of the lake. We could see the volcano off in the distance too, while the serenade of parrots played out in the palm trees. During our stay, we went into nearby towns for fantastic family style dining at many different restaurants, all of which offered tons of food at better than U.S. pricing. Adding to other previous guest's comments, don't miss the fishing trips or ATV rides either. We try to avoid commercial hotels, always preferring to feel like it's "our home" and this was the perfect fit for us. Alex answered tons of questions (being a local) and really made the stay exceptional. Just a week was definitely not enough time for us to take it all in. We're already planning (and training) for our next trip, when we are going to hike up the volcano!"
