  • BEST Vacation and the Casa Cristal was the Most Valuable Part!

"Three families - 14 people - stayed in Casa Cristal in December and I think we all wished we lived there permanently. I'm not kidding when I tell you this is by far the best vacation home I have ever stayed in, including any beach house rental in the United States. Guiones could have something to do with it but seriously, it is perfectly equipped, even had sharp knives and any beach renter knows what I mean. The four bedrooms, each with own bath, was exactly right for our group. We had 6 adults (3 couples) and 9 kids ranging in age from 9-16. Two of the families had their younger children share the bedroom and then one couple was alone and the fourth bedroom was for the three 16-year old girls. We had plans to use the three outdoor beds in the upstairs area BUT between the noise and the wind, it wasn't ideal sleeping conditions for the kids. It wasn't a problem for us but it is something to consider if you are depending on those beds. The indoor area, kitchen and TV room, was great. We were really only inside while in the kitchen, otherwise, the house is situated perfectly for outdoor living. We ate, swam, played, relaxed for 6 days almost entirely outside and couldn't have been more comfortable. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and very close to the Harbor Reef and The Beach Dog. We had two dinners prepared in the home for us and the outdoor table easily sat us all and then some. The house has separate pool towels and beach towels so you do not need to bring any, there were more than enough for 14 people. A/C in the bedrooms as well as ceiling fans. I honestly can't think of one thing I would change about this house - maybe the owners - meaning I wish it was MINE! Enjoy!"

  • Just wow!

"We had an amazing time and loved every minute of our stay. The caretaker, Martin and his family are wonderful people! The house is simply stunning, open, bright and comfortable in every way. We loved cooking there. The swimming hole/waterfall is a must do. We went with Martin and his extended family for a great day there. The entire area has a rural feel that, as a rural person myself, I found very comfortable. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to unplug and reconnect with themselves and with their surroundings! Great value too!"

  • delightful hacienda

"Our visit to Rancho Rio Montana was in a word - fabulous. On a hilltop, overlooking the Pacific Ocean as we were lounging in the infinity pool as the sun started to set over the horizon, the constant breezes keeping us comfortable during the bright sunny, warm days and during the moonlit, starfilled evenings, one could only think he or she had arrived at some magical, truly special spot and they would be correct. The hacienda is wonderfully designed - spacious, open and beautiful. No glass but all rooms have shutters that can be opened wide to allow the breezes to blow through and all for spectacular views in all directions A very private location on the 1300 acre ranch - a perfect spot for a family or small group. There is plenty to do..very well trained and cared for horses are at your disposal for riding the hills and trails behind the hacienda with knowledgable and delightful guides. Beaches are large, unspoiled, uncrowded expanses of sand with rolling waves and areas that are hotspots for surfers. Ziplining is nearby and numerous yoga or spa opportunities are in nearby Nosara. Local restaurants serve up delicious local fare espcially the fresh fish and the local fruits and vegetables are wonderful. The ranch manager is Rene who is friendly, knowledgable, helpful, multi-lingual and works hard to make sure every visit is perfect. While a fit of a drive from the airport in Liberia, Rancho Rio Montana is worth every minute it takes to get there. Picturesque, relaxing, comfortable, delightful -our five days there were a truly memorable time. David N."

  • Fantastic!

"We had such an amazing stay at Casa Primos. We know places in Costa Rica and the quality of this villa is amazing. From the multiple bed options for the kids, a room for the nanny, two rooms for couples - it was just spacious and perfect for our group. The proximity to the beach, to the local restaurants and surf schools - perfect. And the management company that handled any inquiries to the local venues: zip-lining, horseback-riding, golf-cart/ATV rentals, chefs, etc...what a treat! We cannot wait to return to Nosara and to this villa. A special place, indeed."
