  • Idyllic vacation house

"This is such a wonderful place at a perfect location. The house has all the comforts: roof-fans everywhere including outside; air conditioning in every bedroom; washer and dryer; Wi-Fi; linens and pots, and even a storage place for the surfboards, etc. We were 6 adults and 2 kids and there was space for everyone. Beach, restaurants, and mini-market are all within a few yards from the house. The owner lives close by and he’s very acquainted with the area. He was extremely helpful with all of our needs."

  • Awesome Vacation Home in Tropical Beach Paradise

"First time to Costa Rica and was not sure what to expect. The house is great. Clean and well kept with modern amenities and set up. The family felt comfortable eating at the house or walking to one of the many near by restaurants. We rented a car but only used it to explore far off beaches because it's a short walk to the local beach. Beach was awesome with plenty to do. Surf, swim, explore or layout. All close to the house. After long days at the beach we were able to go back to the house and enjoy the pool, outdoor grill and just a relaxing environment. The area is great if you want to go for a walk or jog. Plenty of forest areas to see parrots and monkeys. The management company was also very helpful. Checking on us to make sure everything was okay. Will plan to go back and stay at the house again."

  • Great Christmas family getaway

"Our family stayed December 2016. 7 adults--2 couples, 3 singles. The 4 bedrooms worked fine. The one that has no privacy and that you have to walk through to get to the bathroom is a little weird. It was also odd that that bathroom didn't have a ceiling (which means not completely private) but there was another bathroom so that was ok. The beach is great. You can wade out a long way and still touch so it felt very safe. We did not sit on the beach. There were ants that sometimes felt like they were biting my feet if I was still but it wasn't that big of a deal. Some of us had irritation from something in the water but was only stung for an hour or less and then went away. There is a shower in the backyard just inside the gate that was very convenient to wash off before going in the house or pool. Many people walked the beach (but it was not crowded at all) and everyone was friendly. There is a dramatic difference between high and low tide. You can't walk as far during high tide. There is an inlet or estuary each way that you can not cross when the water is high. The pool area is great. The cabana and row of bushes provide shade and privacy. The balcony is lovely and shaded all day long with a great view. Jorge, the house manager, lives on the first floor of the house and he took good care of us -- got our groceries, shuttled us to and from the airport, and drove us to and from the Beach House restaurant (he had an emergency at another place he manages so we waited a long time and we could have had better communication regarding that though). We went jet skiing and snorkeling with his son Joshua which was very fun. We rented boogie boards and kayaks from the place down the beach. It would have been nice to have had some beach "toys" available at the house. We walked to Perla's restaurant (10 minutes). I walked the beach to the Beach House one morning (27 minutes). I walked to the restaurant to the right down the beach (12 minutes) but we didn't eat there. There is a convenience store that is a 10 minute walk. The groceries and restaurants were more expensive than we anticipated. The 7 of us had lunch at the restaurant at the airport (no one ordered alcohol) and it cost $175! 6 of us ate at Perla's with 3 drinks and it was $100. We spent around $350 on groceries which did include alcohol. Overall, we were very satisfied. Casa Surfside was reasonably priced for all ALL that we got -- togetherness, beach, pool, and fabulous view."

  • Amazing!

"I hate to admit but I've been hesitant to write a review because I'd rather keep this a secret, but I really love Costa Rica, the Flamingo area and the owner of this condo is wonderful to work with. This is our 8th trip to CR and we've stayed in multiple homes and condos in the area and we so enjoyed this condo. As soon as you walk in you are drawn to the panoramic views of the ocean. The sounds of birds chirping, waves crashing and warm breezes are the best. We only used the AC once! This is a first for us in CR but the multiple windows and 2 stories made the airflow perfect. This unit is beautifully maintained as is the grounds and pool area. We would have breakfast on the deck, afternoon nap, dip in the pool after the beach. We ate in most nights since we loved the views and the relaxing atmosphere. This unit is close to numerous restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. There is a market a few steps away or a larger market just a short drive and fruit market by Potrero. We walked the beach every morning and enjoyed the evening sunsets. Octavio the owner made us feel like family and I would highly recommend his lovely unit. Enjoy, relax and Pura Vida."
