  • A place to call home

"I have been here for almost 3 months (2 more weeks to go). The apt is just as described and more: a fully equipped kitchen, table and chairs just outside to enjoy coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening, trees for shade. It is about a 10-12 minute walk to the beach (a big hill!) and a 12-15 min bike ride into town. If you are willing to embrace the Costa Rican lifestyle of walking or bike riding, you don't need a car. Easy to taxi into town after dark. Kitchen is more than fully equipped: full size fridge, 4 burner stove and fresh oven, sufficient pots, pans, spatulas, storage containers etc. The bicycles are great for going into town (could use an Allen key for the bike without the quick adjust). The bed is comfortable, there is more than adequate storage space. Dave has been very responsive to issues that have arisen (nothing major). The biggest issue is water: when the complex is full water usage can be stressed resulting in no water for a bit or very low pr sure. The other issue is wifi. Quite frankly it sucks if you are used to US or Canadian wifi. The only reception is on the porch outside the apt. You cannot get Netflix or YouTube or any streaming. You can get your email and newspapers although you have to pay for it (about $19/month; $12/week). This is a great place for a week or a month or longer. I have very much enjoyed my stay here."

  • Lasting Memories and Laid Back Luxury at Villa Augustina

"Chris and Colleen, the owners, are fantastic people who really want all their guests to have a 5 star experience. The welcoming starts right from the moment you get off the plane at Liberia. The management company arranged a pickup for us and then a rental car delivery the next day. They made sure that we had coffee, fresh fruit and amazing bread in the morning. Reserva Conchal is the vacation of a lifetime. It has a full service golf course, a resort with a swimming pool and restaurant, and access to the all but private Playa Conchal Beach. When you arrive you get an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean. The panorama is simply breathtaking. Upon entering Villa Augustina the sense of space is immediate. The ceilings are high, with 3 glass walls surrounding an infinity pool. The views of the hills, ponds and golf course are charming. On one side of the pool is a very well laid out kitchen and the main patio area. The center wing is the common area with a dining room table for 8. Opposite the kitchen is where you will find the 4 bedrooms, each has its own air conditioner and it's own bathroom. My wife and I stayed in the lower room on the golf course side. It has a memory foam bed that provided the best sleep I have ever had on vacation. This is definitely the most incredible vacation property we have ever stayed at. We love the relaxed, yet upscale feel, its like being in a movie. There are lots of outdoor areas for that laid back vacation vibe too. There is wildlife all around. You know you are inCosta Rica waking to the sound of the howler monkeys. If you get up early enough you can watch them in the trees right across the street. We spend a lot of time exploring Costa Rica. The staff at the Reserva gate are always super friendly and if you ask they will offer great suggestions for food and drink, activities, and surf spots. The local fresh fish, Sea Bass, is always perfectly prepared, we love getting it right on the beach. There are world renowned surf spots throughout the region. The beaches are incredible and also offer the kind of amenities that leave my wife feeling pampered while I surf myself silly. There are lots of shops to explore in many of the surf towns too. We hiked at night to find large sea turtles, swam at night in bioluminescent water, and chartered a private boat for a day of snorkeling. Villa Augastina is the perfect setting to have a magical, fulfilling and ultimately satisfying vacation. I'm still stoked!!"

  • Amazing Week!

"Just got back from spending a week in Roxis Villa! What an absolutely beautiful place! Love the kitchen and the large patio. We made a few meals ourselves with fresh ingredients picked up along the stroll thru Coco. The patio is huge and private, and love the upstairs deck off the bedrooms, we even left the doors wide open a couple nights and woke up to the monkeys and parrots playing in the trees! How cool is that! We also had a few meals down at the restaurant over looking the beach. Love the fact that you can glance down from the villa and see if the tide is in or out and how many people were on the beach! Which there were never any crowds on this beach actually. Felt like our own private beach! Juan and Cesar were so helpful, and speak very good English. They also make a very good Pina Colada! Snorkeling was great, and Roxi was so helpful suggesting things to do and how to get places! Can't wait to return!"

  • Beautiful condo overlooking the golf course

"We had a nice experience. The condo is nice and spacious. It has a beautiful view. The resort offers free shuttle service to the property grounds which is needed because it's a long walk to the clubhouse. The resort also offers shuttle service into the local town of Brasilito for an additional fee. The Reserva Conchal grounds are beautiful! They do need improvement in their customer service as it was not very good pool side or at the restaurants. I would stay at this condo again. The owner was very responsive and diligent to make sure all our needs were met."
