  • Peaceful Retreat

"Recently stayed at Casa Marina. Nice quiet neighborhood with several restaurants within walking distance and a mini super grocery store. Everyone very pleasant and welcoming. Marina was very friendly but also gives you your own space. Our villa was very clean and comfortable. AC and amenities for cooking. Pool was also cleaned throughout the day and was always cool and refreshing. Felt very private. Marina set up a nice river tour with a guide that was very knowledgeable and sociable. We even learned a new way to slice and eat pineapple from him. Very short walk to beach. Low key community but accessible to Tamarindo with a short skip across the river on a river taxi for only a $1.00. Look for the German Bakery truck to come by on Tuesday and Friday afternoons beeping his horn. Picked up some great home made sausage and pastries."

  • Family Surf Vacation

"We spent 7 days in playa grande at casa muy grande; we lived the pura vida to the fullest. We comfortably fit 7 adults and 4 kids in the house. The open kitchen and living space was ideal for entertaining and relaxing, while the 2 acres of land, hammocks, pool area and of course the beach gave us plenty of room to spread out. The house management team was super friendly and made fabulous dinners - the guacamole was extraordinary. When we wanted to eat out we had plenty of options within walking distance - we even ventured into Tamarindo for an afternoon, enjoying a great beachfront meal. The days involved waking up early and surfing, lounging at the pool, and more surfing and swimming as the sun dropped into the pacific. We rented surf boards and bogey boards from the local surf shop and everyone did their best learning on the friendly waves. A must do is the estuary boat tour - we walked 10 minutes up the beach to the boats - paid 10 bucks each and saw numerous birds, monkeys and a HUGE alligator. This was a great trip - and the house perfectly suited our needs. We would definitely go back."

  • Great Beach House

"We were 2 couples and 2 young kids. Had a great week in Playa Grande. Shawna and Jorge were extremely helpful. The house was beautiful and well-equipped. Only wish that there were some beach chairs and a portable umbrella for Playa Grande as there are no shady spots on the beach. Water taxi to town was convenient, however the last taxi is at 5 p.m. so if you either drive or take a taxi if you want to go into Tamarindo in the evening. Other amazing were beaches within a short drive. All in all, exactly what we were looking for."
